Super friendly ski & snowboarding school
If you’re in the Three Valleys and want an English speaking friendly school then this is your place.
We have never skied before and on day 2 we were coming down the slopes with so much confidence and ease. Our two children (6 and 8) loved their instructor, Paul. The service was excellent, staff incredibly helpful and nothing was too difficult. Everyone was extremely attentive.
We had the most amazing time learning how to ski with The Snow school.
Genuinely family run business which means they actually want you to have a good time.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you The Snow School (and mostly Paul)
Call them ahead to book lessons.
My wife and I are their loyal customers. Their customer service is always outstanding. I must say thank you to Sarah who helped me a lot to arrange the booking that is best fit for us. Our instructor, Lorenzo, has been teaching us 5 times for the past 7 years, from beginner to deep powder hunters. He has not only excellent ski technique and instruction, but also personality is also his strength such as kind, friendly, patient, good communication and so on. He always make us happy to enjoy our ski lessons and see our improvements in the good progress. I definitely recommend The Snow School and Lorenzo to our friends without reservation.
We’ve just come back from our first family skiing holiday in La Tania. We went with friends and decided to book a group ski tuition for the the mums (one who’d never skied and one who had a very long time ago) and two children (both new to skiing, my son 9 and my friend’s daughter 10). It was a risky combination but our instructor Nicoletta was so professional it worked really well. She really made our first attempt at skiing together a pleasure. She is friendly, calm and extremely patient. She catered for different levels as we progressed and she made us feel safe on the pistes. We could not have done it without her! Well done The Snow School for employing such professional and knowledgeable instructors!
We skied out of La Tania in March this year. It was the first time our granddaughter had skied and she was in a class of three. Paul was amazing, I was apprehensive as to how Lilly would take to skis but Paul had her skiing down blue slopes by the end of the week. Unfortunately it looks like we wont be able to take Lilly next year but when we do take her back, we will certainly turn to The Snow School. Paul was superb.
My 2 children had private ski lessons with Dani during Christmas week and they said that they loved Dani and she was the best instructor ever! They really enjoyed their lessons! Thank you Dani and The Snow School. We would definitely booked with The Snow School again.
My 2 children had 5 lessons with Nicolette who was amazing with them. The kids absolutely loved Nicolette and looked forward to going to each lesson with her. Their skiing came on brilliantly and we would often see them all having fun whilst we were skiing. She made their first skiing trip and really enjoyable and fun experience. Would definitely book with the ski school when we come back 👍👍
Have had five sessions with two instructors over two most recent trips to Mottaret. A1 recommended. Recent sessions with Dani were hard, enjoyable work in which she made progress in ironing out 50 years of ingrained bad habits. What more could you ask for?
One thing I admire greatly is that she is prepared to confront skiers who have either not bothered to learn or are happy to ignore the rules of the piste and ski or board in utterly selfish fashion. In the absence of piste police the more instructors there are like her the safer we will all be.
“Used the snow school in February in Maribel - great experience. I have just booked again for next year, booking process was very smooth and clear, and I’m looking forward to sending my son off for his lessons again”
“We rebooked with snow school as in 2019 we had a good experience. Again this year (2020)I booked - quite last minute - and the team were super helpful in accommodating my 3 children in ski school. The hours are great for facilitating morning skiing for adults.
The instructors were all friendly and the children seemed to enjoy their lessons. The (quite big) downside was that the skiing of my 8 year old didn’t improve ... he was in a group with children who could snow plough whereas he can competently parallel turn- he had learnt this the previous year at the snow school.
I realised on day 3 he was making minimal progress in his lessons and was clearly in the wrong group. (corroborated by his teenage sister who is fairly disparaging of him generally but noted the significant difference in ability between him and his class mates)
Once I realised I raised the issue with his teacher... she told me I was very definitely wrong and he was in the correct group. That day their had been some movement of children into different groups but my son had remained in his original group with the snow ploughers.
I was saddened by this for several reasons
1. My sons confidence was not enhanced
2. His skiing improved minimally at ski school- his afternoons with us were much more productive.
3. I was pretty underwhelmed by the teaching ability and behaviour or the ski instructor and her attitude towards me.
I’m not really into badges but my son and his friend got the same badges as they had the year before presumably indicating a lack of progress. 🤷♀️
I pay for ski school because I want my children to learn to ski well... not because I want a morning of childcare- my 8 year old is fun to ski with and can totally keep up with the adults. Unfortunately the Meribel Snow School did not deliver this year. ☹️”
“It was great to be able to pick up the phone and chat with someone about our requirements unlike a lot of other competitors. Quotes were prompt and and the team were speedy in getting back to us as our requirements evolved. We’re also looking forward to using the discounts on ski hire that the snow school secure with a rental shop. The children are glad to be skiing with an English instructor which will be a great benefit when learning. Thank you!”
