Friendly welcoming staff with a thorough scan of moles by the nurse. A bit too much jargon from the nurse about moles but she did answer any questions I had and provided options for moles of concern. Report was reassuring and easy to understand. Great to have for my GP and Dermotoligist. I will be going back on a regular basis to ensure my mole check records any changes I need to act on.

I was impressed by the overall mole check, however was disappointed with the extra fee I paid to have a special evaluation on a questionable mole. The result was emailed to me very quickly and basically said that everything seemed ok but I should have it checked by a dermatologist. I thought by paying the extra fee, that was what I was doing. If it was not possible to definitively observe the status through your test, I should just have been informed to see a dermatologist.

The service was professional and efficient, and a report was sent out electronically. My only gripe is that for something as straightforward as actinic keratosis, for which there is a straightforward treatment, they are unable to give you a prescription. You have to go to your doctor for that.

The nurse I saw was lovely. Explained everything in detail. Friendly and Professional. I cannot remember her name, she was from Serbia.

Very helpful. I think perhaps one thing could be looked into. When I was there, I didn't have my cd of mole photos. Is there anyway you can keep on file? or when giving the cd's you keep an extra one on file. I also think having to fill out an entry form everytime is a waste of paper. Would be good to just have to give name at reception and the staff can sign us in via our page on the site. add the date and keep the record for next time. Perhaps this is already done but it wasn't when I came in. Everything else was great and very good service.

The nurse was very thorough and very informative about the various skin conditions that one can get. She was friendly and put me at ease. After the consultation she got me a leaflet and I left feeling very satisfied. The follow up letter summarising my visit did not arrive so smoothly. Reception tried to send it by email a number of times but it never arrived and I had to request a copy be put in the post. This has arrived but I do not understand why I could get emails telling me the letter was being sent and then no email letter.!!

This is the second time I have used the Mole Clinic, the first being a couple of years ago. It is an excellent service and provides real peace of mind, particularly if there are any particular blemishes or moles giving you cause for concern. Recommended.

My nurse was very professional and friendly. She was knowledgeable and gave good advice. Service is very expensive for what it is and the length of time it takes.

I have no hesitation in recommending the the Mole Clinic . On my first visit, some years ago, the examining clinician correctly identified a suspicious spot, pale pink and innocent looking that was later confirmed as a melanoma in situ and subsequetly removed. As the dermatologist I subsequently consulted was very sceptical, I was extremely grateful that I had the report provided by the Mole Clinic. On 4 August 2014, I visited the Mole Clinic again and was equally pleased with the service. The examining clinician spent a very long time examining all my "moles" and I had no sense that she was trying to hurry in order to keep to a predetermined schedule. One of the moles was clearly unusual and a specialised image was captured for more considered analysis. I was informed of the outcome by phone the following day and an email report sent, also. This included the details of two consultant dermatologists who had been previously approved by BUPA. It was a simple procedure to make arrangements with both BUPA and the the dermatologist, who I shall see next week. The entire process has been quick, painless and efficient. The staff at the Mole Clinic are cheerful and friendly and the consulting rooms are modern and sufficiently spacious. This is important to a patient who is slightly claustrophobic. I have been examined previously in so small a space, the consultant had to leave the "room" in order for me to get on and off the examination couch. If I have any criticism it is that there is a large mirror on one wall of the consulting room and as it didn't appear to be used in my examination, I wondered why. It made me feel slightly uncomfortable, but I am 66 years old and fat; for the young and beautiful it probably wouldn't be a problem.

Rebecca was very thorough and reassuring when I expressed my worries over a particular blemish. Because she knew how worried I was, she took the trouble to phone me as soon as she got the results to let me know all was well. it was much appreciated as I didn't get the email till later.

The first time I attended the Mole Clinic in 2012 I was very impressed by the service. The nurse flagged up several moles that required being seen by a specialist. The outcome was that one was a BCC and another was atypical and I had them removed. The second visit in 2014 did not seem as thorough and a previously flagged mole was the only one brought to my attention. When I saw the dermatologist to have it removed, she indicated a further 4 that needed to be removed. These had not been picked out by the nurse at the Mole Clinic. A friend I recommended to the clinic was not fully satisfied by the outcome of her visit and is still concerned about one of her moles.

Thank you for reviewing our service. We value your feedback and appreciate the opportunity to respond. Our nurses aim to ensure that all suspect moles are detected and referred for excision and biopsy as a precaution against skin cancer. They also try to ensure that benign moles are not referred in order to avoid unnecessary scarring and expense. I understand that your dermatologist excised 4 moles which our nurse assessed as benign i.e. not cancerous. Differences in clinical diagnosis are not uncommon and the ‘gold standard’ diagnosis is provided by a pathologist who is able to view excised moles under a microscope. I trust that the 4 moles to which you refer were confirmed by the pathologist to be benign, which would suggest that the assessment by our nurse was in fact correct. I hope this offers you reassurance as to the accuracy of our nurse’s assessment and the high quality of our service. If your friend is still concerned about a mole which our nurse assessed as benign then please ask her to book in for a specialist TELEDerm diagnosis of that mole, which we will be happy to provide on a complimentary basis. If you would like to discuss your case in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at iainmack@themolelcinic.co.uk. Kind regards, Iain Mack, Founder & MD, The MOLE Clinic.

I turned up very early, as it was very wet out and was greeted pleasantly shown where to sit and offered a drink and reading material. When my husband who was not a patient arrived he was treated the same. When I went it for my check up I felt it was very reassuring and very efficient, a second person was called in to verify one doubtful mole and I was advised to have a picture taken and it was referred to a specialist . Within a few days I had received pictures and further advice at home . As it was on a different system to our computor I was unable to print parts of the information ,I rang the Clinic who were again extremely polite and helpful and sent me the details by the next days post. Excellent service

Welcoming and reassuringly thorough examination by well informed practitioners. As previous records are kept, it is particularly useful to visit twice a year to make comparisons of moles.
