Terrible. If you are young and looking for help in getting into the makeup industry do not pick LSM. Its about money, once you’ve finished the course they couldn’t careless. The opportunity for fashion week is all rubbish unless you are persistent with them and even then you have to nag. The staff are rude and extrely unhelpful. If you are from a country elsewhere it’s amazing because you can make them look good, other than that it’s really unhelpful and best to find a better course with better staff who actually care for the people they have learning from them.

Unfortunately, this student Tilly Rose Day along with some others were amongst the most disruptive student when in the class. Not only did she bully other students and staff she also as one can see from her comments regarding foreign students showed racist tendencies. The management of this school will not tolerate such behaviour and spoke to this particular group regarding their attitude. We received complaints regarding her behaviour from most of our professional guest make-up artists. Last night we held the audition for the LSM Pro-team for London Fashion Week which she was not invited to take part, therefore the comments from her in this review. However, three others we are pleased to say from this particular class are part of our team this season.

I have just finished my 4 week IMA foundation and creative course and I have to say it was thoroughly enjoyable. The first two weeks were learning the foundation/basics of makeup from our lovely teacher Charlotte Isaacs who was most helpful and managed to teach us so much in the short space of time, things I never knew I was even capable of. Charlotte prepared us for our exams and was always full of advise and tips to help us start a career as a makeup artist. Thank you so much!!! We then moved on to the two weeks of creative makeup. We worked with some incredible makeup artists, thank you so much to all of them, for sharing your time, knowledge, advice, warmth and generosity with us all. Charlotte Isaacs, Francesco lo Cascio, Bobana Parojcic, Pascal Marin, Gavin Pickle, Maria Papalopolpu and Wai Kan, you have all taught me something I will keep for the rest of my life and I am so grateful for your lessons. The other staff in the school, it's been a real pleasure seeing you every day. Thank you for your friendship and smiles!! If make-up if something you are interested in as a profession I highly recommend this school and the courses they offer. My only regret is not opting for the 8 weeks!! I can always do the remaining four weeks another time.

I did the 3 day course, IMA foundation and bridal. I am not one to complain so I will keep this review short and sweet. I really enjoyed day 3 but not so much day 1 and 2. I felt the style of teaching was very rushed and I felt like the teacher did not want to help the students, or even be there. The teacher's manner, approach and energy was very cold and as i spoke to other girls in the class, they said they felt the same. However, Gavin was our teacher for day 3 and he was AMAZING. He was warm, approachable, polite and helpful. It was only on day 3 that I felt that I was actually learning, and again, alot of the girls felt the same. I don't want to be rude but when you are paying that much money for a course, you would want the teacher to at least act like he/she is interested in being there! Slighty dissapointed.

It’s always hard to please everyone and we did speak together at the end of the three days when you were leaving. As we explained to you then Gavin is amazing however without the two days you had with our inhouse teacher first who had to take the whole class from knowing nothing to a level where they could tackle Gavin’s artistic work there would be little chance of understanding how to recreate his work. others in the class thought she was a fantastic teacher and so do we. However, we look forward to your returning for the examination process and hopefully for creative level.

I chose the Make Up Application Certificate course with The London School of Make-up after doing a lot of research. It was the best fit for me in terms of flexibility of learning, location but most of all it is a challenging course and one recognised by the industry. I did the initial 2 day, followed by home study option but there are others so a great choice whatever your circumstances. We had a high profile teacher, who was amazing and gave us the best start to our learning. You have to be self motivated to do the home study but you have the full support of the School and the team - Val answered lots of my email very promptly and patiently! Having just completed the exam (practical and theory) and submitted my portfolio, I am excited to see what my new skills and confidence will bring! I cannot recommend The London School of Make-up highly enough and consider them the benchmark for industry excellence! Thank you so much to the School for helping me to achieve a long held dream!

I have travelled especially from Romania to do the 8 Weeks IMA Course. I have enjoyed every moment of it and I have learnt things that I know I would have never learnt in any other school. So if you want to do a complete make-up course, The London School of Make-up is the perfect place!

I modelled for a haircut . The teacher was Aida and she delivered the most professional service . She taught her student about the cut and the technique and she also made me feel very secure and looked after because she was going through all the different stages. I was not only a model, I have been treated like a proer customer. The haicut was amazing and the learner was also pleased about what she achieved. I highly recommend the London Scholl of Make Up and its team of teachers. Aida was really really good. Thank you

I have just completed the 8 week media makeup course and i would defiantly recommend this course to anyone who wants to further their career as a makeup artist it covered all areas of the makeup industry including special effects and hair. The school also really look after you after your course has ended keeping you updated on any jobs that are available to help you on your way to building your portfolio. The classes were fun and i learnt valuable techniques from the teachers, every teacher brought their own unique flair for makeup to every lesson which kept the course interesting and was very inspiring, the experience and knowledge is not something you can learn from a tutorial online, so i am glad i chose this course, now i am looking forward to what my future as a makeup artist will bring. Thankyou london school of makeup :)

I did my Level 4 in Laser and IPL here and I am so pleased to say that they are very good. If you want a quick qualification you can go somewhere else but if you aim to become a confident and competent therapist, then this is the place to be. Jessie was absolutely amazing supporting us all the way, she made me feel comfortable in asking questions and she proved to be very knowlegible and experienced. They are extremely busy but they always make time for you and I appreciate this a lot.It is so important to have a solid base and makes such a difference the way you come across in front of a client. The most important thing is that when you finish the course you feel READY :) I am so grateful for all the help and genuine support.I highly recommend it!!

From April, 27th to May, 8th 2015, I participated in the 2 week foundation certificate course at the London School of Make-up. I may say that the course has not only met my expectations, but exceeded them by far. The whole team was very welcoming, our teacher Charlotte is a true professional and the atmosphere in class was very friendly and supportive. I can highly recommend this course for everyone who is really interested in make-up and willing to put in some effort. I had a great time!

I did the 8 Week Photographic and Media Make-up course and I absolutely loved it. I was very nervous prior to the course beginning, however, within an hour of the day beginning I was already completely comfortable. Everyone at the school is so friendly and helpful, as well as the opportunities that arise from the course are invaluable. The colour and black and white photoshoots are such amazing experience, and really give you a feel as to what it is going to be like in the industry. All of the make-up artists that come in to teach are so full of knowledge and hugely helpful. Since finishing the course last week I have already had a job, and have a few more lined up for the upcoming weeks! The support and job opportunities the college give you after finishing the course are second to none. I definitely recommend!!!

Teaching methods were extremely poor. Extremely expensive for essentially 20 days. Bank holidays were not given back to us. I can't say anything good about the course. I thought it was a massive waste of money. I didn't come away learning anything at all. I thought £3000 could be better spent and the teaching methods were awful. YouTube tutorials are better. And free! I thought that the London School of Makeup was terrible. This school had a very strange work practice whereby it was theory based. For the money we spend, it should have been completely practical. My advice is go to a school that does 100% practical and no theory at all. Putting makeup on faces is what you are paying to learn. In fact, my advice if you want to become an MUA, is just practice on people and don't stop. Learn everything on free YouTube tutorials without the £3000 price tag. What I would give to get compensation. A refund or partial refund would be a dream. Don't do it. YOUTUBE TUTORIALS is the way forward. And practice on your friends. This school was over priced and under qualified.

We are most surprised by these comments as we have had fantastic reviews from students who attended the same course. Also this course has no theory involved other than watching the make-up artist demo for a couple of hours in the morning. This is followed by practical hands on work shop all the rest of the day. Any theory work is done after the course is over in the student own time if you require IMA qualification. None of these comments make any sense to us and we have never had a student leave a review like this before. Her teacher is most distraught by this negative review.
