I really like the Cotswold Company products and in the past haven't had any particular issues. However when i recently spent a considerable amount of money on a dressing table, two large wardrobes, a chair and bedside table from the Camille Lime wash Oak range, I was extremely disappointed by the quality. The dressing table was returned twice as was one of the wardrobes. The manufacturer has used different pieces of wood (not sure its all Oak) which on my pieces was initially not a problem, however after a short while the wood changed colour and now the look of products has changed and it is disappointing and i consider the look and quality of the products are not really worth the money paid. All the items have a lime wash on them and i feel i should have been told that the colour and look of the product would change and that the wardrobe drawers and dressing table legs would not be made from a single piece of oak. The customer support have tried to help and did reimburse me £150 but on a products that were expensive for example one wardrobe cost £1750, i thin k i should have been offered more compensation. I am very disappointed and certainly wouldn't say the range is worth the money and support and after care could certainly be improved.

Scam of company trading standards now invoild half staff can’t speak good English and not done what they said not refund me or cancelled which was agree today

If you like the quality of Ikea furniture, then their furniture should be ok for you. The wardrobe looks nice until you open the doors and then you realise how light and flimsy it is. And the drawers on chest of drawers are incredibly difficult to open and close. They used to have dovetail joints, but now it's all staples. I've bought a couple of pieces of furniture from The Cotswold Company back in 2018 and was excited to buy some more as those pieces were so well-built. But, they've reduced quality and increased prices. I never leave reviews, but I'm so disappointed with this, I had no choice. I will never buy from them again - it's not worth it.

Rip-off Rip off. When you try to post something back, they will charge you a fortune for the postage so that you end up taking something else from them probably what you didn’t want.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY absolutely shocking paid a lot of money for a bed which was just left out side my house and paid £90 for a certain delivery which they didn’t stick to. Went to out the bed together and the bed was damaged. Called through customer service are shocking do not want to listen and help at all. Said they will send a new bed said I can’t be at home until 6:30 to take the bed and off load the other bed. They didn’t turn up when I asked didn’t take the damaged bed and went to put the new one together and have a complete important part of the bed missing. Stay away from this Company I will not be ordering another thing from this company they promise to call you and never do shock

I entered your CANTERBURY store today with a friend and was overwhelmed by the service, Knowledge and happy faces by Nathan and Alice .... it truly was a pleasure to shop here....and because of them I will be back to buy my new bed ...so THANK YOU GUYS

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID !!!! Poor customer service along with their extortionate rip off prices. Shop around as most of their stock is available elsewhere just has a different name and at half the price.

Went to a store today intending to purchase two settees before the sale ended. The company CEO had arrived for a staff meeting taking place in the showroom. I was allocated to one sales assistant who having explained why I needed advice left me to return to the meeting before her coffee got cold! Overall I left the store without making any purchase. Such a shame and as a result the company missed out on a sale.

The furniture I purchased was lovely, Although the first larder unit I purchased was damaged. My main complaint is with the delivery courier who firstly walked mud through my house and when I complained to the Cotswold Company they referred me to the T&Cs and said I should have covered my floors, then the 2nd delivery team refused to assemble my furniture despite me paying for assembly, so asked them to wait while I called customer services to resolve the matter, however they literally ran away and drove off at full speed ! When I complained to TCC they advised the courier company would call me, which they haven’t. I did get a refund for assembly, however the apology was robotic and not genuine and basically blamed me for not covering my floors. I won’t be ordering from TCC again.

my white brought cushion cost about £25, when it arrived she didn't like the colour and wish to return it however the only way to return it is via the Cotswold company who wish to charge you £20 to return it, the Only Way Out of This is to buy something else from them rip-off

At the Canterbury branch, we found helpful, friendly staff who just wanted to help find the right product for us. The furniture is beautiful and made by craftsmen. The Chester extending table and 8 chairs is great value-for-money and furniture we are proud to own. Delivery will take 10 days and, for a few pounds, the table will be assembled in our home. We are absolutely thrilled with the service from the time we made enquiries at Head Office to owning the furniture. Thank you.

Waited all day and no delivery! I called the day before to check on my delivery...asked the Cotswold company to confirm timings. A trainee told me I would receive a 2 hour slot. This didnt happen! I took the afternoon off work and son waited in all morning... and no delivery. Called at 3pm courier told me that the delivery was for the 17th. Cotswold email stated 16th Nov. The courier said I was the 3rd customer call saying this had happened today. Also, I was told by the Cotswold the courier would call 30 mins before delivery this promise isn't possible...confirmed by courier. I am a busy Dementia nurse who doesn't work the normal 9 to 5. I couldn't receive the next delivery for at least a week due to my work shifts. So I cancelled the order - awaiting a refund. What a waste of 10 days from ordering. Total waste of my time! Never again!

Average quality imports. Superficially pretty but no substance. Sadly not the artisan product their branding and marketing suggests. I might even say not fit for purpose. Who wants or needs a console table that they can’t put a plant on? Totally ruined by a small spillage when watering said plant, even though it was wiped down within minutes. Though as you can see from the picture it’s made from poorly finished and sealed mdf disguised as something better. Finally, as 90% of reviews suggest, the company doesn’t appear to have a customer service function. If you’re annoyingly persistent they reluctantly reply eventually. You’d get better value all around at IKEA where they’re honest about their proposition and you get what you pay for.

Called in the Cotswold Company in Stow in the Wold on my way to Somerset. Really friendly ladies in there. Later after I got home I rang them and ordered a country cream narrow 4' bookcase. Delivery was perfect, it was packaged very well and I love it. Top quality and looks beautiful. Thank you.

Be careful buying Cotswold company furniture . They charge top quality prices and the product finishing is very inferior .. In this case bad paint job on MDF wood .

Although a very pleasant experience in store, from there it soon goes very wrong! Waited in all day for a delivery of a dining table & desk, but despite an email (no doubt automated) nothing arrived……. no phone call to explain/apologise, no nothing. On calling customer services was told rather unapologetically that it was an issue with “ the courier” and basically out of their hands?? On demanding that they follow up & give me further information, and more importantly a new delivery date/time, no one has had the courtesy to call me back, yet again zero service. Seems that once they have taken your money they are no longer interested! Not a great way to ensure repeat custom, & I certainly shan’t shop with them again.

I ordered a tv stand which is of good quality apart from a few small marks, which aren’t bad, but are noticeable. Most companies would probably sell it a bit cheaper as a seconds item, or in a sale perhaps. Generally though it is nice and looks good. My main gripe with it is the size of the drawer, which I would have thought would be designed for DVD’s and Blu Rays. Unfortunately these don’t fit in very well. The drawer isn’t quite high enough for slightly bigger cases, such as cardboard box sets etc. and the drawer doesn’t come out quite far enough to fit them in properly, so it’s awkward to get them in and out, especially when the drawer is almost full! Surely they should have worked out the dimensions properly to make sure of fitting DVD’s in, as I would think most people would be using the drawer for this purpose. Also they do not put dimensions of the drawer or the slot above which you would generally be putting a DVD/Blu Ray player, or maybe a sound-bar in. The item was delivered on time, but the men just brought the box inside and immediately ran off. They obviously weren’t going to unbox it and set it up as I had hoped. Some people say that they do unbox the items, others say they don’t. It says on the website about choosing an unboxing delivery if you want one. I never got the choice when I did the order. This seems odd to me, why do some people get the choice, and others do not?! 4 stars for the tv unit, 3 stars for service.

I had a line of customer service failures with my first and only order. I received my order 3 weeks late, at which point I was wondering if the company was a scam. 1) My order was not delivered on the date I was notified by Cotswold Company. I cleared my schedule as a result of the notification to be at home for the delivery. After waiting until the afternoon, I called the delivery company and learned that they never received the item. 2) When I followed up with the Cotswold Company, my customer service ticket was combined with another one and I never received a response. 3) A new delivery was organized. At delivery, a returned item was expected by the delivery company. The delivery men would not leave until they had collected the item they were expecting or they received approval from supervisors.

I ordered a bed from CC, the side rails were cracked. I followed their online advice to email customer services, what customer services? NO-ONE responds, they use an automated system for customer feedback. It's like emailing into a black hole. I have sent pictures as "proof" of damage. But oh my goodness, how absolutely frustrating to not get one single response from this company. They really do not care about customer service. Happy to take your money but don't care if the goods they send are faulty and no offer to put things right. Finally I managed to speak to a human who offered me £60 refund to keep the faulty bed, what??? Keep a bed that is unsafe and broken. What planet does this company exist on! I insisted on a replacement. Hopefully no problems with this one. Please do yourself a favour and use another company. My feedback is based solely on the non-existent after sales support. Bed is lovely, shame about the damage and woeful service.

I cannot recommend the sideboard I purchased, although I was initially excited to receive it and it is a beautiful piece of furniture. The top is made from oak veneer, like many of the furniture items from the Cotswold Co. Unfortunately, I have since learnt that wood veneer is very easy to damage and can be prone to scratching and water damage especially, so not ideal for everyday use. I had the bad luck of a water mark on my sideboard a few months after I purchased it and after contacting the Cotswold Co’s “replacement parts” section, was told they were unable to sell me a replacement veneer top and advised me to contact a furniture repair shop instead - I contacted several and all quotes were more than what I paid for the sideboard, the process also did not seem easy or straightforward. Frustratingly this left me with little choice but to have to purchase another sideboard altogether (and they aren’t cheap at around £399). My sideboard was only a few months old and in immaculate condition apart from the water mark on the top and I resented having to replace the entire thing because the wood veneer was so costly and tricky to fix, and I wasn’t allowed to purchase a replacement top for it. Please be warned if you choose to purchase any furniture with a wood veneer top that it can be prone to damage - and difficult and expensive to fix.
