“Generally pretty good, no significant complaints. I'm not sure how useful some of the longer observation videos were, especially as they tended to take place just before a quiz. The phone learning course had some outdated information about the three selected platforms (Zoom, Teams and Skype) but again not the end of the world. No issues with the quizzes or assignments, the level of difficulty seemed fair. The word-stress section was slightly annoying as the phoentic quizzes assumed an English accent which I didn't have.”

“I learned new pedagogies from my TEFL course and feel really happy I completed it. But I faced some issues with the course design. First: the way the course is organized is very confusing. The grammar module is listed first. It’s the most boring and because I thought the course had to be studied in the order it was set up, I spent months on it. Only when I moved to methodology did I realize that was really the most important module. Methodology was interesting and the classroom videos were useful. But when you download the course, the transcript of the videos don’t download. So you have to cut and paste the individual transcripts or download individual videos. This is a huge headache when it comes time to doing the assignments and you have to keep searching through the course to re-watch the right videos, instead of just reading the transcript. The other 3 modules are not particularly useful … telephone teaching should be called online teaching :), for one thing. The assignments were great and made me think hard. I wish there had been observation of real classes. But overall the course left me ready to start out in the TEFL world.”

“I really enjoyed doing my most recent certificate with TEFL. I would like there to be more courses please. I left some feedback with someone on the chat about including different free courses. It's important to have continuing professional development, and if it is provided by TEFL, then even better. Please perhaps include current topics such as teaching people with neurodiversity, addressing pronouns for people in classes, diversity and gender equality in teaching, things like that. Maybe even well-being for teachers ?”

“I signed up to the 120hr premium on-line training which I really enjoyed. The assignments are relevant and interesting. My tutor was very responsive with my coursework, the assignments typically got marked within hours upon submission. The tutor also gave useful and practical feedback for my coursework.”

“The TEFL course is very intelligently structured but I am always confused about making a lesson plan because the sample plan is not the same as the student has to make it is over informative. Still, the student can't follow it properly. So need improvement to teach lesson plans as simply as possible. It's only over the information, not the actual plan given to the student.”

“The TEFL course looks like it was made in the early 1980s. I am disappointed by its level. It can be difficult for people with educational experience to watch and pass it. There is no welcome educational invention, only copying and repeating a few primitive educational techniques. Everything that is not the same as the scheme is wrong. It looks like the tutors don't understand what the educational process is. If I can share my advice for students: do not be creative. Only copy and paste, and you will be a successful student.”

“I think the course is good, there are a few things through. The video observations and the classroom examples videos were good but it would have been better if they were varied, as the course talks about different classroom types, yet doesn’t show it; quite large classes, different layouts, etc. The only variation was really the same group of adults, one on one or young children, no older teens or anything like that. I feel some of the tenses section could have been a little better explained in the articles to be read as reading for some may be taken in better rather than videos (as this may be the case for some). Overall it’s a good course but I am glad I finally completed it 🙂”

“Overall a good course, clear and concise. Approaches the fundimentals well, clear instructions. I had issues with images loading for thew written assignments. Seems to be a problem with MacOS (M1) compatibility. Dee's correspondence and feedback was great. I would suggest a corse on AI in the classroom as thats they way things are going in the teaching industry. Good job and thanks.”
