“I ordered 20 power daisy plugs but 6 were dying when they arrived,tried planting them but they just shrivelled overnight.Not impressed with this company at all.”

“I received my order a couple of days ago of Masterpiece Broad Beans. If I was only a novice at growing my own veg then I would have found these acceptable and sown them. However I have had an allotment for twenty four years now. On opening the packet I found the seeds to be the size of peas which appeared to be very old and shrivelled. Nothing like broad bean seeds. Very old. I have been very wary on ordering seeds from Sutton’s because of similar problems over the years. A few number of the seeds also had holes in them from insects and were unsuitable for sowing. I have ended up ordering broad bean seeds from another supplier and these are in perfect condition which is as they should be. I have to say that compared to many years ago when Sutton’s were the seed provider to go to, from my experiences over the last years that I have ordered from you your company is living on the reputation of your forbairs.”

“I ordered about £50 worth of vegetable seeds 10 days ago. 11 items in total, today I got a text from Dutton’s apologising but they could not supply the following items, they then listed all 11 pots of seeds I had ordered, I have today been to my local garden centre and guess what, they had near enough all the seeds I need and they are Suttons seeds. Goodbye Suttons.”

“Poor management of customer expectations! I placed an order over 12 months ago. I was informed that the order would take several months to arrive. Several months later, I was informed that they were not going to be able to supply the item at all. I was given a voucher and a refund, which was appreciated. Upon revisiting the Suttons website (a mistake in hindsight) in September, I saw something else I would like to purchase as a gift, which I was infromed would not be ready until just before Christmas, which was ok. Have just received the order, which wrong! C'mon guys!”

“Told one piece of factual information by the customer, then ring the company directly to be told something completely different, I just wish I had read reviews beforehand, they use a 3rd party distribution center and then another company to courier it to the customer, overall experience, will never ever use again”

“Ordered 30 begonia plug plants fire orange in May came end of June as stated, very disappointing as they were lemon?. A lot with no roots just shoots. Obviously sold out of the ones I’d ordered, I would rather of them told me this. To be fair they say they are going to give me a full refund.”

“Bought a special offer of bedding plugs and was informed they had left nursery on Monday, the day before my call. Arrived here on Thursday afternoon in a sorry state. About 50% were non existent in the plugs and the rest were miniscule and on the point of collapse. Didn't expect the Chelsea Flower Show but I thought I could at least grow them on. Ended up on compost heap with about 20 plants salvageable.”

“Purchased Clematis Fujimusume on special offer. Plant delivered on time. However condition of plant on unpacking very disappointing. Compost bone dry and plant obviously stressed, with many dead leaves a some stems passed their best. Will attempt restoration but not optimistic. Would not rush to buy from Suttons again”

“Ordered 142 bedding plant plugs from the website, paid and waited for delivery, after 7 days I sent an email, then I received an email saying my money was being refunded with no explanation, my order was placed on 22nd May, today 5th June I have been told there was a crop failure that's why I got a refund, sorry to call someone a liar but really, absolute rubbish, please do not order from this company”

“Ordered 12 petunia plug plants but only 6 usable.They were at the depot of Whistler 12/05/23 but didnt arrive until 19th.6 were either broken,shrivelled or almost non existence.”True Beauty” they were not.So,£4 a plant.Next time off to Asda.”

“Sadly disappointed with teeny tiny plants that arrived 4 weeks after original due date. Several dead. Needed for a lush flowering birthday display in June. I'll be lucky if there are any survivors, or a meagre flower for Christmas. Phone call to chase order cost £5 80!! Not at all impressed. Had to purchase decent plants from garden centre. An expensive, disappointing, "never again" purchase 😑”

“Ordered 72 perennial plug plants @ £19.99 +£6.99 postage on 21stApril- delivery within 21 days , only thing that arrived by this date was an e-mail to say new delivery date would be 14thJuly. Interesting to note that they are still selling them! -Obviously I have cancelled the order and requested a prompt refund.”
