Paid a lot of money for a beautiful Smeg range, expected it to last years, now black paint is cracking, obviously due to heat from the oven & grill, yes we purchased 6 years ago, but would expect a cooker of this price range to last longer. Customer Service are no help, just told we can replace the damaged parts, how much would that cost, I dread to think. Extremely disappointed. Would never purchase Smeg again.

I agree, Smeg are 5 star for being useless and 1 star for customer service, I bought a cooker hood, £665 and it only runs at maximum speed, when I said it’s faulty they said the ducting is incorrect, it is not it is as stated in the manual and I had a cooker hood before, 127mm 5”, they do not contact me nor offer any solution, they even said the manual is wrong, it should be 150mm, as it doesn’t have an air flow meter in the ducting I can’t see how it cannot be faulty, if there theory is correct it should only run at a slow speed and not a maximum speed, is it possible to be so technically incompetent, expensive goods backed up by idiots

The kettle had stopped working after 1 year and they are saying that there is no warranty on it and nothing can be done. That’s very upsetting given the face that the kettle costs 250$ and it is the only kettle that lasted in my house for less than two months! DO NOT BUY!!!

$900 coffee machine lasted less than 10 months of use, customer service is a nightmare: rude and unhelpful on the phone then give you the runaround via email.

As a builder, I was introduced to Smeg at an appliance open house at a Convention Center in Sacramento California. I fell in Love with the looks of the product, so I ended up buying 14 of them for a subdivision I have, Out of those fourteen homes through a series of communications. Ten of them had to be replaced. There were 30-inch gas single flame ranges. During that same period of time, I was remodeling a home for myself, and I installed a 36 inch single flame gas Smeg Range (that was a mistake I should have ordered duel flame). From the beginning the oven never got to the correct temperature, the cook top worked great. But the oven was a problem. They came out, put a new gasket in, thought that would solve the problem. And it did not. Since then, where I bought the appliances called three service companies to come out and they all said they do not work on Smeg. And now the appliances store have told me that they're not going to stand behind Smeg product. So, I'm stuck with a beautiful Smeg range that the oven does not work. The other night I was going to broil something. And of course, the broiler did not work. I was playing around with it a couple days later and the broiler started working. We have an issue there and I don't want to have leaking gas in my house when the flame doesn't ignite. And I can't use it for upcoming Thanksgiving because it doesn't get up to the proper temperature. Don't buy SMEG

Beautiful equipment, but due to the poor QC in Italy, coupled with the lack of service available in NA, I would not recommend SMEG products to anyone. 2 stars is generous and based solely on aesthetics, which won't do you any good when you're a few out from Christmas and without a functioning oven!!

Hand held blender broke within 6 months .. Smegg said they can only repair it and not replace it .. sounds like a helicopter now . Toaster one side is not toasting .. Kettle broke within 2 years .. smeg said can't replace it when it is clearly a factory fault

Bought a new hob in March 2021 and it failed 3 times. The last failure was just outside the warranty period but smeg agreed to change the unit after I paid 50% of the cost as a "gesture of goodwill". They then sent me a replacement with one zone less and I had to cut my worktop to install it. Cut a long story short if you think a £600 hob should last a little more than 2.5 years do not buy a smeg.

We bought a built in coffee machine which was installed February 2018, First call out was October 2018 which after many call outs was replaced FOC in Dec 2019 because they couldn’t fix it, it failed again in sept 2020 , May 2021, sept 2021 and in October 2021 they replaced it again FOC because they couldn’t fix it, They upgraded the model as it had been such a hassle to CMS4303X June 2023 it went down again , they initially refused to honour the warranty of a brand new machine the relented with a 1 off service call, 3 service calls later they condemned the machine with an offer of discount on a new one ! We are not a coffee shop they don’t get massive amount of use, they are just not fit for purpose. We had similar troubles with Smeg oven, Fridge and microwave, we have had over 24 call-outs to fix their products.

Poor user experience for Smeg Oven. I don't even know the model number even though I've memorized the manual since in order to operate this complicated device you have to refer to the manual at all times. The child safety lock is perpetually on and cannot be turned be. This means to turn the oven off, you have to manually flip the switch for the power of the oven on and off. Next the two knob design which are meant to set both the type of oven function, i.e. grill, bake, broil and the temperature and or a time are so delicate that one wrong move and you've messed up. Completely not user friendly!! Who wants to struggle to cook at the end of the day instead of being able to easily prepare a meal??? Apparently the elitist at Smeg think that their product is so beautifully designed that it being rendered completely not pragmatic has no impact on most working people. They couldn't be more wrong. There appliances are waste of one's time and their brand is synonymous with inefficient, waste of time, useless.

If I could leave a 0, I would. The coffee maker makes a decent cup of coffee but is poorly made. Pot handles break off. replacement pots do not exist. Warmer only lasts an hour. Settings are difficult to input. Most importantly, if you do not descale almost immediately when the light comes on the coffee maker will stop working and cannot be repaired. Customer service confirmed this. Nice looking, poorly made. We are on our second one and the pot handle came off and there are no pots available. Back to Cuisinart. Glad I insisted that we keep it.

Do not buy from smeg!! Bought a smeg range oven terrible quality not even had it over a year cost £3000. Already faulty back oven fan has broke making terrible loud noises and inside oven both side rack fittings have fallen off. They sent their engineers out to check (Dill and Sons) and they have refused to repair the large appliance as there saying that its in the terms and conditions that the customer has to move and make the oven accessible for a repair. Customer service is appalling its been over 6 months with emails and getting no further forward they can't resolve any issues. Now I'm left with a faulty oven and my hard earned money gone down the toilet. I have been missold this product very unhappy would not rate them any star's
