Remember the old days when we had dial up Internet and it took forever? WELL SMARTY are worse! Constantly no connection, not smart at all!

Dogshit coverage with constant instability. Going to be changing soon.

Have 3 sims and the signal is shockingly bad and getting even worse, if that's possible, yet it says excellent service in the area but on all 3 handsets the signal is shocking all over the country. Websites take literally 2 minutes or more to load, or just don't load. Considering I moved from the three network and smarty is operating on the three network it's extremely clear that all data plans are severely restricted! I'd choose any other alternative network over smarty. Please keep away and don't even try them.

I tried to activate a sim that I bought in a shop but their website has a bug and they sent me a sim in the post. Neither of the sims works and they have been chatting online with me for days and now they are going to need another 4 days to work out the problem. I told them to just cancel it and refund me but they won't because they need to fix their problem first as if that is my problem.

Smarty provided a good service worth 4 stars but since requesting a STAC code to terminate the service as I had moved to Spain they have continued billing me four months after I switched to a spanish provider. My only means of contact is with a bot that just thanks me for renewing when I ask them to stop taking payments from my.bank. Absolute rubbish customers service.

Avoid SMARTY - Abysmal Customer Service, Hidden Fees, and Delayed Refunds My experience with SMARTY has been nothing short of a nightmare. Attempting to acquire a second SIM card for my existing plan turned into a frustrating ordeal due to their abysmal customer service and hidden fees. Firstly, SMARTY lacks a customer service contact number, leaving customers with no option but to use their Live Chat feature, which proved to be more of a hindrance than a help. After engaging with three different representatives via Live Chat, my issue remained unresolved. The first representative lured me in with a plan advertised at £15 a month with unlimited features. However, upon proceeding to payment, the price suddenly inflated to £20. Despite this obvious bait-and-switch tactic, the representative encouraged me to make the payment, promising a refund of the extra £5. Not only did SMARTY happily accept my £20 payment, but they also informed me that the promised refund could only be processed once I received and activated the SIM card. To add insult to injury, they stated that the refund process would take an additional 5-7 days. This lack of transparency and delay in refunding customers' money is completely unacceptable. Frustrated by SMARTY's incompetence, I had no choice but to escalate the matter with my bank and initiate a chargeback. In conclusion, I urge anyone considering SMARTY to steer clear unless they enjoy dealing with hidden fees, misleading advertising, delayed refunds, and atrocious customer service. Save yourself the headache and choose a provider that values honesty and customer satisfaction.

I paid a bargain price of £15 on offer with smarty mobile offering unlimited data and calls. But the internet speed is so bad, I feel ripped off. Now I have to endure this for a month. I immediately opted out of auto renewal. The internet is so bad, no matter where I place the phone, I can barely even get one youtube video to play. I'm not in a city, but I'm not out in the sticks either. I'm living in a student heavy area just North of a capital city. I just don't know why anyone would want to use this kind of mobile coverage.

Utterly dreadful service. Encountered issues transferring 5 family members to a Smarty plan. Every time we seem to leave the UK, roaming falls over. I shall be cancelling 5 contracts when I return home. You get what you pay for. Ps customer service is non existent…it’s via a bot that says it will get back to you within an hour. Totally impractical for the average person.

You would think that a NEW CUSTOMER on a rolling 30 Day Contract would be treated as an Asset ? .........my first evening online and I try a few Broadband Speed Tests - I get good 4G coverage in my area G67 according to THREE's Coverage Map. Test one using "WHICH BROADBAND SPEED TEST " Download = 7MBPS Upload =13 MBPS Test two using "THINK BROADBAND SPEED TEST" Download = 1.79 MBPS Upload = 18.37 MBPS Tested at 23.00 Hrs 23 Jan 2024 Waited ten minutes and repeated the Tests WHICH Download = 8 MBPS Upload = 9 MBPS THINK BROADBAND TEST Download = 2.63 MBPS Upload = 12.88 MBPS Then tried OOKLA Speedtest on my Tablet, At 23.30 Hours Download = 3.29 MBPS Upload = 17.8 MBPS These Speeds are barely 3G broadband speeds ! My contract Summary states my estimated Speeds are, 3G / 18 MBPS Download 4G / 70 MBPS Download 3G / 2.6 MBPS Upload 4G / 22 MBPS Download All Speedtests courtesy of WILDCARD NETWORKS NEWCASTLE upon TYNE on 23 January 2024 PATHETIC doesn't quite cut it !

Probably the worst mobile connectivity I have ever had. Proof of the pudding that ‘you get what you pay for’. Also, claimed European connectivity had to be prepaid. A fraud in my books.

6 days (so far) of no inbound calls or texts. There seems to have been an issue with the porting of my old number. Things go wrong sometimes (we are all human). Unfortunately, Smarty appears to have a completely disjointed customer service web chat that has no ability to escalate, obtain information updates from the business departments that are solving problems or provide any updates as what has actually gone wrong and how long to fix. I have spent hours on both their web chat and their community forum with no resolution in sight. https://community.smarty.co.uk/t5/chats-hacks/porting-only-occured-for-outbound-no-inbound-calls/m-p/18730 I can make calls and send texts from my number but inbound calls simply state "The number dialed has not been recognised, please redial". It took 2 days for the Web Chat team to actually come to the conclusion it was a porting issue rather than the usual array of reset your phone, clear cache etc. From my opinion and ongoing experience, Smarty have cleverly setup as an online only solution with only webchat and email to reduce costs for customers. Unfortunately, they seemed to have not bothered to make this only customer communication channel entwined within the business or trained their staff very well to answer problems. The advisor in web chat admitted that they can only escallate a problem by typing into a notes field! The web chat team seem to be doing their best with no access to business information or training to answer certain problems. Searching their own forum shows Porting seems to be their weak point. Fingers crossed I dont have to live with no calls or texts for too much longer, the biggest problem for me is texts are often used for MFA/2FA

Stay away from them, they charged me for over a year although I never used their service, not even once. Then they refused to give me all my Money back. "Our policy wouldn't allow us "

Appalling. Tried to PAC my number over and despite my previous provider closing my account and seeing that the number has been ported SMARTY have not connected my number. It has been nearly two weeks and all I get is 'we are working on it, it will happen soon'. I cannot port the number to another provider either according to them. Poor customer service and phone service. Could not recommend less. Only communication option with them is live chat as well.

My service has been suspended one day after I arrived to a EU country. I have EU roaming included in my plan and Smarty is doing this to me regurlarly without any explanation and take more than two days to unsuspend the service.

Pros: Cheap and excellent customer service Cons: I signed 2 weeks ago. Constant work being undertaken in my area resulting in frustratingly low data speeds, data cutting out entirely, missed calls and calls cut short. Average speeds of 0.5Mgbs. 4g is pointless to even try to use, have been using 3g mainly. Data cuts out preventing downloading, video calls via zoom etc and any interactive service such as gaming. Customer service have been unable to provide a completion time. Fortunately I'm on a rolling monthly deal so I have cancelled my renewal and will be leaving SMARTY. I would personally recommend friends and alike to avoid the 3 network and it's users such as SMARTY. Definitely do not get tied into a long term contract, you will most likely regret it!

Terrible. After one week I have left. Packed up and got my PAC code, signed up with another network. When I tried to contact them, all I got was a bunch of emails unrelated to my actual request and questions, just random stuff, this company is really out of touch with their customers.

Smarty paused services while I was ago and with NO warning. Compromised communication safety etc. Who gives them the right to discontinue service I PAID FOR already (contract payable start of month) with no warning and for no good reason. Poor, just avoid. It's true, you get what you pay for and this is a cheap harmful service.

Cheap but you get what you pay for Ordered 3 sim only deals as Plusnet ceased their service. Transfer was easy but once we received the sim cards and started to use them the signal was very poor. We live in a city and had no issues with Plusnet or my work phone. On contacting customer support they said they didnt have strong coverage in that area and that its on their future roll out plan..... they then gave me £3 back as compensation! So after one month with them Im having to switch to 02 on pretty much the same deal. We track the kids phones and have to keep them in touch when their clubs finished but this wasnt possible on Smarty due to their poor network. As an aside customer support tried to say it may be the hand set (had me restart it) until I pointed out this affects three numbers on three recent generation Iphones Very disappointed.
