DO NOT USE What didn't go Wrong Avoid. I have lost £150.00 with lots of polite emails saying they will pay the refund, but nothing in reality after they never sent the items in the first place. DO NOT USE

Eventually reported to police Simply Electronics Ltd (registered in Belfast) folded in 2013. Simply Electronics Limited are based in Hong Kong, despite the website having a .co.uk variant, and UK phone number. This in itself isn’t an issue, but it does complicate any attempt to have your money returned. Like a lot of other users on here, I placed an order and it went through exactly the same Order Statuses: Order details check Order confirmed Order in queue Order is processing Order awaiting dispatch Order backlog At all times, the product appeared to be in stock on their website. Contacting support via their website prompted a quick and polite, but generic reply that sounds convincing and reassuring, but without mentioning any dates or details specific to my order. Note that the "Order backlog" status change comes exactly 14 days after payment (I checked 14 days and 30 minutes after my payment time). This coincides conveniently with Skrill's policy of not cancelling transactions after 14 days. What can you do? If it's less than 14 days since you placed your order, you can contact Skrill and open a dispute. If it's more than 14 days, you can still contact Skrill and make a complaint about their Merchant account: “simplyelectronics ltd”. Skrill are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (their FRM is 900001), and the FCA have specific objectives regarding the reduction of the risk of financial crime and consumer protection. Skrill have a formal complaints procedure (available by seraching for Skrill complaints handling procedure) Skrill are a legitimate payment processing service and their services are being abused by Simply Electronics Limited. They are registered in the UK and also have obligations not to facilitate advanced fee fraud. You have to register with them to log a Case, and it took 4 working days for them to respond to my first Case and it's been 7 working days since I've had a response from my second. You cannot see the contents of a Case (so keep a record of the query that you submit), nor can you reopen a Case once they have replied and closed it. You can contact your bank/credit card provider and open a payment dispute with them, explaining that you believe that you have been tricked into paying for a product that SimplyElectronics are unwilling/unable to deliver. Mine was remarkably understanding and helpful. You can report cyber fraud to the UK police (assuming that you live/ordered within the UK) by searching for ActionFraud or the Hong Kong police (where the company is based) by searching for: report hong kong cyber crime The domain simplyelectronics.net is registered to Contact Privacy Inc., based in Canada (found via the public WhoIs database) The domain simplyelectronics.co.uk is registered to Simply Electronics Limited, who in turn are registered to a Serviced Office in Hong Kong. (found via the public WhoIs database) You can complain to the registered owners of these domains indirectly via the contactprivacy website. Both simplyelectronics.co.uk and simplyelectronics.net are hosted on the same server. You can complain to Rackspace, the company who own the servers that the websites run on here (be sure to include your Crime Reference Number from the UK police if you have one) via the email-us link on the front page of their website. You can also register on TrustPilot and mark reviews like this one as helpful, and post your own review. Do the same for the other online reputation services that feed into search engine algorithms - particularly the one displayed on their website, although you will need to e-mail reviews@ that company, as they don’t e-mail feedback links until after a sale has _completed_ (which neatly explains why their feedback rating is so high). Some review sites are vendor-centric, so you may also need to be prepared for a long process to log negative feedback. If you are more savvy about life and business in Hong Kong than me, then you might be able to complain directly to the local regulatory authorities regarding Simply Electronics Limited (Company Reference (CR) Number 1150413), or directly to the new Director Ng, Man Lai (???), who was appointed in July 2015. All this information is from publically available sources.

This company are simply a scam. They have no stock. If they obtain an item they'll send it in non original packaging, and then you risk it not working. Refunds don't happen. And there is no legitimate customer service. Please use with extreme caution

As my order wasn’t urgent and the item was shown as in stock I thought I would put up with the “bumpy ride” other had talked about. How STUPID!! Everything about this company is a disaster. The say they have stock they don’t. They take you money as soon as they can and they ALWAYs fail to deliver. If Amazon and Argos are doing same day delivery Simply Electric are the opposite. Their system for viewing your order didn’t work for me but when raising a Support Ticket they don’t even READ your query. They simply copy and paste the same answer. They quote usually despatched within 2 to 3 days but their actual lead time is 10 working days for despatch and then they add another 5 for delivery. That is THREE working WEEKS. They make their sales on price and then deliver weeks and week later. All communications are a disaster. They also break the regulations regarding Credit Card as they take the money weeks before they are able to ship. Honestly it is painful in the extreme. AVOID!!

Below is my review and timeline of events. Don't buy from these people, they sell broken products, copies and steal your money 7th May 2015 ‘I am delighted to inform you that your order, order number: 738333-1228233 has been dispatched and you should receive it by within the next few working days.’ We are pleased to confirm that your order (1228233) was delivered to its destination on 13 May, 2015 14:56 (late delivery not the delivery time stated on the website) 5th June 2015 ‘Thank you for contacting us! We have received your inquiry and are assigning it to a representative. You can expect to receive a response from us within one working day excluding weekends and public holidays. The details of your submitted ticket are listed below. Please ensure that the ticket ID is kept in the subject line to allow us tracking your request appropriately. Ticket ID: TMX-787-13954 Subject: I want to return my item because it is faulty (Under Warranty)’ The phone went actually became faulty on the 24th May but we were abroad on holiday so had to wait to send it back. I contacted them asking for an update and this is the reply ‘Good day! The item will be serviced under warranty and returned to you as soon as possible. A subsequent email will be sent to you once the item is returned to working order which we shall have returned to you at our expense. Repairs typically take 2-4 weeks time from our end, depending on the repair required or the parts needed. But we will try our best to resolve at an earlier time. Should there be any further queries, please feel free to contact us again. I again contacted them for an update on the 2nd September 2015 asking for an update Good day! We received an update from our relevant team that the repair is expected to be done early next week. However, we understand that this has taken longer than normal to complete and would like to apologise for the inconvenience. Since this is a warranty case, if you doesn’t want to wait for the item to be returned, we can offer depreciated refund instead. Otherwise, if you are willing to give us until next week to have the item sent back, we can offer compensation of £25.00 So if I wait for my, now 6 month old phone, they will give me £25 compensation or I can have a depreciated refund. They seem unable to give me an answer as to what a depreciated refund is. The phone is now back with us as of the 1st October. It doesn't work, the S-pen is not working on the touch screes. I think this is a Chinese copy, they are not answering the emails anymore. This is disgraceful service where the customer is held in utter contempt. I have had 2 weeks use out of the phone in nearly six months and I am expected to pay deprecation? Or wait an unknown period and get £25 compensation. Thieves, stay away from them.

I ordered a camera that was apparently in stock. Although it eventually arrived it was well outside of the expected delivery time. It took a massive effort to get an address to send the camera back to. I was simply promised a refund week after week after week and had to jump through so many hoops. I did get my money back but it took 15 MONTHS!!!!!!!! Despite the UK flags this is a far east based company, therefore sits outside UK law, and if anything goes wrong you will not have a leg to stand on. I'm not saying don't buy from them (they are cheap), but just pray that nothing goes wrong or else you can kiss your money goodbye.

If I could give them less than a single star I would! They don't deserve even that... When I bought my camera off them I was thrilled to be able to afford such an incredible piece of kit. I should have seen sense and saved up the extra money, in the long run it would have been worth it. Not only was the whole process of buying it a nightmare [and that should have been the first clue], but when it broke down things really got much worse... The RMA procedure that I had to go through to have it repaired was ridiculously complex, and inherently flawed, but I managed it, in the end. I sent it off, with all the packaging, battery and charger, as requested. What I got back was a padded envelope marked "Lithium Ion Batteries" containing a camera without the any packaging, charger or battery, and a customs bill for 50 odd quid. I've been fighting them ever since for a simple refund of the money I had to shell out to replace those items. What I've asked for doesn't take into account the fact that not having the original packaging significantly devalues the resale value of the camera, and the pain and depression they have put me through. I'm bipolar, something that they are well aware of, and yet it doesn't stop them from promising to resolve the matter once and for all, then simply vanishing again. When I bought the camera I had just come out of a period of serious depression that left me house bound for over two years, and photography was a part of that recovery. Simply Electronics where the setback in my recovery. They have blatantly called me a liar, and accused me or attempting to defraud them of a trifling sum of money when they are avoiding paying the correct duty on imported goods by mislabeling them. What they do is frankly criminal, and it's about time that they were investigated, and brought to justice and shut down..

I purchased a GoPro Hero 3+ from Simply Electronics as the website said it was "in stock" in a warehouse. With the speed at which things can be delivered now I did want to query the 7-10 day delivery. So I bought it. I called up after 8 days to enquire about it as I had received or heard nothing. I was told that the order was processing…. I called up on the 12th day after the order had been placed to cancel the order as I had still heard or received nothing. Only to be told that the order had still not been dispatched and that I had to send an email to cancel the order. Having sent the email, the only response I had was 2 days later confirming that the camera has been dispatched and will be with me in 2-3 days….. I have not had a response to the email asking to cancel the order 2 weeks on. i do not have a use for the camera now as I needed it for a job that I could not do due to it not arriving. Simply Electronics are totally inept at running a business that wants to keep customers. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! IN STOCK MEANS NOTHING!!!!

I ordered a phone which was on a 2-3 day lead time. After 2 weeks I cancelled the order because they were still saying 8-10 days for delivery. This was on 3rd Dec 2013. They tried to deliver the phone on 9th Dec. I refused the delivery. They have yet to return my money and refuse to do so until they get the phone back and can inspect it. I have never had the phone. It has been with their courier, but still they won't give me back my money. Worst company to deal with. DO NOT USE THEM
