“Lovely rail but putting the end pieces could of been made easier by putting a centre point on the end as try to get a center point was hard if not bang in center the metal end wasn’t flush with the wood and when your paying that much for it it’s a big mistake to make.....and the metal end pieces didn’t fit tight so had to use plumbing tape to make it stay on tight”

“Still not received the items, I understand Covid19... but your delivery (Tuffnells) don’t show delivery dates when you track you item and never seem to answer the phone. STILL WAITING? Will review again once I have the items... 😢”

“Good service, handrail good but beware that screw heads round off easily. Simple instructions and a template to center the end caps would have been useful - no room for error.”

“The wood screws provided to attach the handrail to the wall fittings were no good! We could only get them into the handrail so far before the heads of the screws snapped off. We had to buy some ourselves that were fit for purpose :(”

“The screws supplied with the pack are not strong enough and many snapped. Buy your own screws. Wood very difficult to drill into. Had to get a professional in for the last railing that we couldn’t drill into.”

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your order. This was ordered on the Tuesday and Delivered on the Thursday. So two working days. In regards to the screws, they are fit for purpose and it could be that the installation instructions haven't been followed. We do recommend all our handrails are fitted by a competent and skilled tradesman. If you need any further help or instruction please come back to us and we will gladly help. “The light oakhandrails were ok if a little rough could do with a fine sander on them . The S/S brackets were good quality . The fixing screws let them down , 2 of the round head type for fixing rail to bracket snapped on the last turn in . However finished job looked goodwith a bit of light oak wax and do the job well .”

“Item poorly packaged, screws falling out of packing. Very cheap screws supplied. A screw snapped off in the pole when fitting. No fitting instructions supplied. Late delivery. Email sent regarding late delivery, no reply received. Overall poor quality products with no customer service.”

Hi Helen, Thank you for your comments. We welcome any feedback even if it is sometimes critical. We have taken the issue up with tuffnells, with how you received your parcel. We have however slightly changed our packaging procedure so there is another check in place prior to leaving us. The screws we supply are all stainless steel and CE marked. They are by no means cheap. All fitting instructions are listed on our website, but we have also started sending them as a PDF so customers do have the option to print at home. Your delivery was indeed one day late, which as a company shouldn't happen. So we are sorry for this. 99% of our products are leaving us within 2 or 3 working days. Due to stock levels this does occasionally alter depending on individual items. King regards SimpleHandrails.co.uk

“The order arrived promptly enough and the stainless steel parts were really well made. The oak handrails were a different matter; the machining seems to be done in two passes by a half circular machine bit which leaves the handrails looking like they are made from two halves. The surface of the handrails were quite rough in some places and the plastic inserts that join the steels to the handrails need a template to ensure that they fit in the middle of the oak handrail ends. Clearly there is a very poor level of quality control before sending out the handrails!”

“Hand rails were excellent just what I wanted. But I stayed in all day waiting for delivery, but was very disappointed when I went outside at 5.30pm and they were laying on my front lawn, nobody had rang the bell or knocked the door, not even put a card through the letter box. Seems like I have wasted a days holiday from work, just so the delivery driver could dump my package on my lawn in full view of the whole street. Noy impressed by that”

“The product is fine. The information about the delivery is very poor. I was told the order had been dispatched but it did not get collected from you till 2 days later. Tracking is difficult as the tracking number is not advised to the customer until they have chased your ordering department.”

“Not as good as I hoped. Service was good and parts arrived within time stated Quality was disappointing. The joint to bring handrail together was not the same size as handrails so handrail has a dip in it. Also the wood feels like it could splinter. I doubt it will be doesn't have a smooth feel to I hoped. Time will tell if it splinters or not”

“The price was good but the quality was very average and the ease of installation was poor. Very much a case of you get what you pay for!”

“A good product but one of the rails had a small split requiring glueing and G clamping. Also it would help less experienced fitters to have a fitting advice sheet. Pre drilling the rails and fitting the supports to the rails first is important.”
