Great service from the courier, couldn't fault them in any way. However, I am really not sure how Shiply can justify their charges, over 25% just to put me in touch with the courier!

Collection and delivery were both delayed twice. I have repeatedly emailed and phoned/text and asked for an invoice and no one has ever got back to me.

The driver took almost 3 weeks between accepting the job and dropping it off. He was uncommunicative and ended up arriving five mins early having arranged to come v early in the morning as it was, and was going to leave the item outside. Overall I found him rude, and next time would be happy to pay a little more for a better service.

I got an email from Shiply saying that I shouldn't pay the delivery company until after delivery. When the delivery company demanded payment before delivery (but after picking up the item) I contacted Shiply, who said they don't get involved in disputes.

Item was delivered in good condition, but there were several delays and miscommunications around the delivery. The courier themselves requested a Sunday pickup but left seller waiting for 6hrs before cancelling (so seller was unhappy). Then over next few days delivery was predicted twice by courier without follow through, until the Wed delivery. During all this, they indicated their own listed 'contact number' was too congested for them to reply to Txt messages in good time, and some messages obviously went unnoticed. When I finally spoke to someone managing the bookings, they were polite and helpful and resolved it quickly but there seemed to be confusion between the driver and base.

While in general I applaud Shiply for setting up a really useful service, I strongly believe it needs to improve its systems in order for me to be able to recommend it. 1) I found the site clunky to use - not quite logical. Unfortunately it was some time ago so i can't remember all the detail but I distinctly remember thinking it needs to be improved. eg inputting of item details, uploading of pictures. 2) i found the method of emailing quotes really unhelpful as they all had the same subject so it was difficult to go back to a particular quote 3) I had a major problem with a pickup on a Friday afternoon & think it unacceptable that I could not contact anyone at Shiply until Monday morning,then the only response I got was basically "nothing to do with us, gov".

Shiply sucks goat balls. There's better options out there and it's worth researching these before committing to Shitely.

Had an issue with a missing armchair - it was delivered somewhere else and the courier would not compensate me until I wrote positive feedback !! effectively blackmailing me !. Shipley had no interest in assisting with the dispute but were more than happy to take their commission . Good idea if things go well but if they don't , don't expect any help.

It was extremely difficult to communicate with the provider. I wish i had assistance from Shiply or been able to talk on the phone with the provider before to accept the quote, the idea is good but the execution was so painful , i felt trapped !

the delivery driver was polite and helpful. However the pick up date was changed, without any notification, and the item wasn't delivered to my house for 5 days. Sadly the exercise bike sent as a present no longer works although sent in perfect condition. I have only just managed to find a company who repair exercise equipment as there are few places near me but they have confirmed my fears. It must have been damaged in the five days it was in the van. I had asked for it to be delivered within 2 days when there would have been far less chance of breakage.

Beware - this company may be able to put you in touch with a range of courier services but if something goes wrong (as it did with us) they have no power or willingness to sort out the problem. We had poor service from the courier and similar service from Shiply - basically if you have a problem with your courier then they can't - and more importantly, won't - be involved with trying to sort out the problem. They have a 'support' system which, in times of difficulty, don't support at all. If you book through this company then you're on your own from then on. The system has taken some elements from ebay but forgotten that the success of ebay is built on a system to protect buyers, i.e. the customers. Very poor service.

Shiply was easy to use until my deposit was taken. Prior to accepting a quote, I asked if Furdeco (the third party providing the quote) would be able to deliver within a week and on a Saturday or after 630pm on a week day. I received a very short response saying all is ok if I accept the quote straight away. This I did. My delivery eventually too place two weeks later at 7am on a Monday after calling Furdeco several times due to them not contacting me to arrange a time and missing times they said they'd call to arrange. I asked their support why my original prerequisite to accepting the order hadn't been kept to and they claimed that it was because the original short email that spurred me to accept the quote was from a Shiply employee who hadn't bothered to check with them.

Not given enough time to leave feedback for the job. I was unhappy with the service provided as the driver was 5 hours late! Instead of being able to give a negative comment the removal driver now has a positive which I did not write.

Negatives reviews should be able to be posted at the same time than positive ones. It seems like a way of dissuading more than anything...

The feedback process is VERY POOR ! I booked my transportation way in advance and this seems to be a problem for SHIPLEY. To the extent that I had over 6 remainders to leave feedback before my transportation was to take place. Not only that, they then assumed my feedback was positive because I didn't reply. A week after the last feedback request, my transportation actually occurred. The chap was great ! Good communication, very polite, excellent service.

Shiply is a good idea, however i do not feel there is enough control or vetting done on the shipping companies you use. I recently had a delivery done with haulfast, this delivery was extremely poor, i left negative feedback on this delivery with a short description of why i found it poor, (for example they wouldnt answer their phone even after 30 phone calls to both numbers supplied) but the company can go on and leave a reply comment to my response which was complete lies, i had to contact shiply twice to get an urgent contact request sent to this shipper, and they left comment that i wouldnt answer my phone or email and they had to leave the shipment in spain, which was all fabricated. This should be addressed by shiply as it does not allow for a fair judgment of the shipper when other people get quotes, lying on feedback i think should result in shippers being removed from your site. Because of this experience and the lack of proper control by shiply i will not be using this site again.

The price was good. But my pristine bed turned up with various grubby marks on it and my cupboard didn't turn up at all as they left it on their van! Eventually got it two days later with a few additional scratches. I suppose the answer is to wrap your items up well to protect them.
