The checkouts at this store are ridiculous. You have to scan the barcode on ur receipt to get out but it often doesn't work. The checkout supervisor is lazy and hopeless. Sometimes when u talk to these people or ask for help they are unresponsive and stupid. I get the impression they are working there because no one else will employ them and there's nothing else they can do anyway. The big Asda store in Barnes Hill is miles better and I feel far more in tune with the local community. It's a complete contrast whereby the tills ask whether u even want a receipt! The staff are also way more helpful.

I visited Sainsburys cafe today,I ordered tea and toast not too much to ask for however I had to wait ages.My tea was cold my toast apparently had to come from the other area,so I had to go and chase it myself after waiting 10 mins .Bad customer service ,very disappointed .

I shop here every week but in future if the travellator is not working, shall go elsewhere. I'm fed up of going up the stairs only to find there are no trolleys. Also certain items that I buy on a regular basis are no longer stocked and I have to go elsewhere anyway. Went on Thursday evening last week to find lots of bare shelves possibly not their fault and one of logistical problems. Had to drive to Longbridge to Marks and Spencers to complete my weekly shop (the M&S in selly oak is far too small). If only there was a Tesco superstore close by, I know they always stock the items that I can no longer get at my local Sainsburys.

Sainsburys Selly Oak is an extremely racist workplace. Worked here for a few years and managers including Kat, Mike, Paul and Sean treated white workers much differently in comparison to ethnic minorities. Glad to be out of the horrible place where only a handful of workers are ethnic minority.

The dictator manager of one of Sainsbury's supermarkets threatened me. Hello everyone! Today I went to the Sainsbury's shop in 19 Selly Oak Shopping Park, Aston Webb Blvd, Birmingham B29 6SJ. I took a photo today while shopping at Sainsbury's, then recorded it and sent it to my pals, however security came over and told me not to take pictures or recordings at this store. I requested the security guy to demonstrate the concept of what is and is not permitted at this store. Security instructed me not to go anywhere because he would summon the manager, who would show me everything. I nodded and waited for the manager to arrive. Three managers arrived and immediately began looking for the written regulations of the supermarket, specifically the rule that it is prohibited to take photographs and recordings, but they were unable to discover such a rule. The manager then informed me that he is the owner of this store and that I am not permitted to take photographs or video in this establishment. Then I reminded him that if taking photographs and recording are not permitted in this supermarket, why not post it on the wall so that everyone knows? Then he said that it is his own supermarket and he knows what to write and what not to write. I said, "How can people know what is not permitted in this supermarket if you don't write the main rules oficially anywhere?". He stated that in such scenario, he will inform everyone orally. So, if a thousand individuals snap photographs in this supermarket every month because they, too, are unaware that photographing or filming is prohibited, would you notify a thousand people a thousand times in this store? He added that while he is letting me leave this time, if I take pictures or videos again the next time, he would punish me. After that, I exited the supermarket. But this is an odd restriction that is only spoken and nowhere written, and it makes me wonder why I am not allowed to snap pictures in public places like supermarkets, which are also public places.

Parking easy. Store well stocked with a good range of produce. Pleasant staff. Only downside......one of the WCs in the ladies was out of order, hence a long queue for the 1 working one - I went to see if the disabled toilet was free, it was but it was filthy. I advised a sales assistant and left.

I went in last week as I thought my iPhone was beyond repair. Neema was extremely helpful and very soon got it going for me again. She also advised about a replacement phone for the future. She had a lovely manner and was extremely courteous and polite. A lovely young lady. Great service.
