Read the one star reviews! This company is based in Nevis, a small volcanic island in the Caribbean. If that isn't a red flag, I don't know what is. You will never see a human being from this company face to face. There is no office you can go to, hardly an address to be found. Your only way of communicating is through their main email address. If you have a claim, you will not be assigned a person to communicate with, only a generic email with no individual person to message back and forth. They approved small claims, doctors visits and what not quickly and efficiently. no issues there, actually great experience. Any sort of large claim they made me jump through endless hoops like getting medical records from completely unrelated things, some from 10+ years prior in another country. Then they delayed as much as possible and suggested if I needed to $50k USD procedure sooner then I should pay for it myself and submit a receipt. They wanted to avoid paying the premium fees as they know we would chose the cheapest option if we had to pay for it out of pocket. As if anyone has that much money laying around. After many months, we showed up at the hospital, only to find out they hadn't approved it. Started the process over again and finally 3 months later was able to get it covered; they approved it while under anesthesia! If only the idiots had waited 1 more day they could have paid half as much for the generic hospital costs instead of single room fees. Anyways, that was bad enough, but now I was stuck with them as I had a pre-existing condition. At that point, they doubled my premiums, the advertised rate is just what you pay if there are less than 125% claims. So factor that in when you make a decision based on this being the cheapest coverage. Now, after I renewed the policy and paid for the entire year in advance to get the discount, then they informed me anything to do with my procedure (with implant) was no longer covered as it was considered a "chronic condition". Yet it would be a pre-existing condition if I went to any other company. So basically I'm screwed for the rest of my life with ongoing pain. Take home point: read the chronic conditions exclusion. Basically, once something a condition is diagnosed, it is not covered beyond the initial bit. the wording makes it such that anything requiring ongoing care is not covered beyond the amount listed. So, they advertise a price which is 50% less than the actual price if you make any claims. Then, they make anything with ongoing treatment not covered. Then, if you have any issues, they just cut off communication and there is nothing you can do about it. Good luck hiring a lawyer in Nevis to hold them accountable. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Agree with many comments posted re: customer claims on avoiding and delaying payment. Admitted to hospital for a kidney stone emergency over a weekend, no previous history of kidney issues. Submitted requested paperwork on the Claim form, including invoices, CT scan, X-rays, Dr’s justification and previous Medical history etc. Two months later still waiting for payment. Don’t be fooled by their marketing story of “refund immediately story”, they’ll try every trick in the book to find a way not to pay. Favorite delay tactic appears to be “you’re missing documentation”, never communicated to me in my case, telephonically or otherwise, you’ll only find this out when you call them to query payment. I will give them one credit, they’re really good at apologizing, that’s where the customer service ends until your next call of course. Then same old again!!! In my case, this missing info/ doc is not detailed or clear on the Claim form in any event very convenient it would appear. Requested escalation on 5 ocassions in emails, to discuss the issue senior management. “THESE REQUESTS ARE IGNORED, YOU'RE TOLD TO BE PATIENT”. Doesn’t sound to me like ‘we will pay your claims immediately’ Best advice I can give to anyone looking for Medical Insurance is, deal with a company that is registered in the country you’re living in, at least you will have a recourse to the local laws of the country in terms of consumer protection. Only reason they can play these games is they know they are for the most part “untouchable”by the average person especially if you’re thousands of miles away.

Great at processing small claims. Always pay within a few days. Very little hassle. As soon as we came with a major claim they started to give us the run around. We showed up at the hospital to get surgery only to find out it had not been approved yet. They claimed our surgeon had not gotten back to them with that proper forms. Confirmed our surgeon never received anything from them asking. Then they said they needed all medical records for 5 years. We had all ready provided them with names of doctors and they didn’t bother getting them themselves. So we had to run around filling out form, gets records on our own dime. Process cost time and money. Meanwhile in a lot of pain. After we got them all the relevant records they started asking for more which they had not asked for before. This time from other countries that we lived in 10-15 years ago. After all records were submitted then they wanted records from prior insurance companies showing any claims. None of which they asked for before. Now 2 months had gone by since we were turned away from admission. Costs were adding up for weekly revisits, repeat scans, etc. if we didn’t have insurance we would have already had the procedure done or gone to another country or the public system or something. The only delay was the pre-approval so we wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket. They said they submitted it to underwriting. I asked if they had been submitting records as they came in and they said yes as the only ones relevant to the matter they had the entire time and if there was a reason to reject it they would have done that at the beginning. Another two weeks. Then they said the underwriter sent it back and they wanted them to put together a timeline. Spoke to a case manager who assured me he would be finishing it by end of day to re-submit it. Called again, told someone would call me back. Called the next day, told someone would call me back and that they were in contact with the hospital. Called that evening , told they needed more paperwork from our surgeon. I asked what and they said They needed the estimate. 3 months and not asked for this? Confirmed with surgeon they had submitted this 3 months prior as well as this week. Called again, asked to speak to a case manager. Put on hold 10 different time. Very vague responses from a phone bank girl who assured me they was the last piece of information they requested. All in, 3 months of wild goose chases for records, never once having received a call back the entire time. Sporadic responses to email from the general claims email address. No individual responsible for issues. Just everything going through some general number and email and being told confirmed lies to string us along. I don’t know what the end game is, we just go away? We pay for cheaper and get reimbursed? Hope we can’t afford a lawyer? 100% do not do business with this company. They still haven’t agreed to pay. We are stuck having to take a mortgage out on our home and then battling with them for reimbursement after the fact. What happens in an emergency?

I would not recommend anyone ever to buy cover from Regency For Expats. When my brother died,we thought everything would be ok because he had a valid life insurance policy. However they have denied our claim, using every tactic to avoid paying. Our only option now is to take legal action to recover monies owed to his family. With respect for my brother we will continue to fight for fair...My advice to anyone wanting to buy Health and Life Insurance is to search for a more reputable insurer. As for Regency for Expats,be sure we will endeavour to successfully bring justice for my brother, his wife and 12 year old son to give them the future they deserve. Finally words cannot convey how truly despicable this company is. Regency for Expats shame on you...

I took out the premium service to cover my self and my family. In the last three months I have attempted to make three claims. They did not cover my son's vaccines, nor the doctors appointment. They referred to the policy that my partner is not covered for pregnancies, nor anything around her being pregnant. Now this last claim was for Physiotherapy, which I apparently have 10 sessions and because I told the doctor that I had some injury 2-3 years ago playing rugby, totally not anything to do with the existing condition, they have claimed I have even with a doctors note to say that was not the case. Absolutely ridiculous. They don't have a Premium policy. It's junk.

Very fast response to our emergency claim and pre-approval of the hospital. This was all done via email within hours enabling my wife to undergo her surgery the next morning.

I am an expat, I am used to move and have different health insurances and this is the worst, with difference. My mistake because I paid the whole year in advance and now, with proofs of their awful service, the deny to refund me. Worst decision I made in terms of health. They are just good sellers and good liars.

A complete scam!!! They don't reimburse ever and don't reply to your messages! Their offices only exist on paper and if you try to call them they do not reply in the local language! (diverted phones...). If you're thinking of subscribing their non-existent services do yourself a favour: accurately check the info provided their website, call them, request further info and you'll see...

Regency for ExPats and its parent company Regency Assurance is the closest thing to a criminal enterprise I’ve ever interacted with. My son is a member on the most comprehensive plan. It’s been months and they still haven’t paid claims. Anything you read online about how they “pay 99% of their claims” and that they pay “within 24-hours” is complete and utter advertising garbage. I understand a class action suit is soon to be filed about them.

Regency is fine if you have ordinary clains with GPs or a dentist, but as soon as you claim for a specialist or non emergency surgery the wheels slow right down and you never hear from them. We have the highest insurance as well. Can't wait to get rid of them. I don't trust them at all anymore. I feel their behaviour is deceitful.

The money I paid doesn’t make any sense when I got a surgery and company refused to return it. Really disappointed. Will never choose this company again!

Living overseas it was very important for my husband and I to choose the Insurance Company which we put our trust into taking into consideration their customer service and their mission statement. We truly believed in Regency For Expats and took out the policy we had to cancel when we knew that my husband had diabetes but they told us they would half the original premium and offer us a policy we were gappy to accept even at the reduced cost. Sadly my husband died in December 2019 and it has been very hard living here in Egypt nothing has been easy not even the burial but I got through it I only have my daughter here so been hard and not received the support I thought I would have from Regency. I have been waiting since December 2019 for my husbands settlement nothing has happened. They have put me through so much stress but I have given them everything they have not contacted me for months they even wrote and said to me that yes they could have treated me better. I want to be able to put closure on this but they keep dragging it on and on. No one has given me any help or the support as a widowed woman alone in Egypt trying to deal with my husbands death. He died peacefully when we were in the hotel from his heart stopping he never experienced any heart problems my Dr even wrote a report to confirm this and I have all the reports to confirm no suspicious circumstances because he died in the hotel I am still getting the run around. You cannot believe what I have had to do. I have made myself clear explaining everything to them. I need someone to help me put closure and let me move on as I too will he the next one heading into an early grave from all this stress. I did everything correct before we entered into this policy contract to ensure there would be no situations but this is all I have experienced problems since the death of my husband I am exhausted, sad and heart broken and really cannot believe how I have am and have been treated with such a large company who say their customers come first. Once I received a call but it was like talking double dutch kept calling me maam which I did not like so its just very frustrating and mentally draining. 😪😓

If I could give a 0 rating then I would have! Regency Rejected my 14yr old daughter's medical claim due to it being "pre-existing", even though us as a family only found out about her very serious condition the day of her examination. Now a month later and I am still struggling to get more information out of them as to the way forward. STAY AWAY! They are not in it to help you at all!

Worst experience ever with an insurance company. Was stranded in a hospital for 6 days after a major road accident as Regency were reluctant in providing the hospital with the down payment so that they may proceed to operate. Seldom any communications from Regency during this painful wait which resulted into several blood tranfusions and bacteria in the body due to internal bleeding. I had to use my own financial means to get the operation going or else I would still be there today waiting for the operation whilst my condition was getting worst. Furthermore Regency, contrary to policy, forst me to pay 20% of the total bill! The worst ever insurance company wanting to make a quick buck off their customers. I guess it is a good company as long as you pay your annual feels and don't claim anything. Not a safe insurance company to deal with if you are overseas.

I did sign up for the inpatient hospital plan. After 3 month I had a blood clot and needed to go to the hospital. First of all it was hard to reach anyone then when I asked them to go to my hospital of choice they said "yes no problem you can go there" once I have been there and had my operation I tried to reach them again and it was not easy to get any one feeling responsible for me or answer out of anyone at regency. The only answer I got was we need more time to evaluate. I was already discharged after 5 days hospitalized when I got the message that they would not take over my cost due to my contract only allowing a double bed room not a single but the hospital of my joice which they agreed on had no double rooms only single bed rooms. So I can NOT recommend this insurance and I'm very disappointed in them as well as they bankrupt me due to I had to pay the whole bill by myself! Do not choose this health insurance!

After being diagnosed with Aortic stenosis in June 2019 in Bangkok hospital pattaya I went to Bunrungard hospital in Bangkok where they confirmed I needed a Valve replacement, the hospital contacted Regency regarding the operation and was told to tell me have it down and claim after, what a mistake that was, nine months later and the emails are still going back and forth. They advertise that they are fully regulated, yes but by the FSRC in Nevis, Caribbean you cannot talk to them they don’t answer emails. They claim it’s a precondition but I have a full medical report done in 2017 that has no mention of such problems. Stay away from them

For me it's the worst health insurance ever. I used to have Europe assistance and it's great. Regency puts problems for everything, they send you by email like 8 questions while you're at the hospital instead of contacting the hospital (as Europe assistance does). They do not cover anything. Really, I lost my money with this awful service
