Terrible Company. Avoid at all costs. My niece very kindly treated us to a spa voucher with 60 minute treatments and afternoon tea or lunch. A big con because none of the spa hotels fit this criteria. You can't speak to anyone about it . They only have a stupid messaging service where nobody replies anyway. They should be done by Trading Standards. They couldn't even care less about these terrible reviews!!!!

Having to put one star as zero wasn't an option—a complete Con. AVOID! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK DIRECT. I saved two vouchers brought as gifts to contribute to the "new" activity, Shark dive. When I looked into upgrading, the value I had to top up was incorrect and overpriced; going direct with Bear Grylls is cheaper. I contacted Red Letter via the horrendously long-waiting live chat system (as there is no way of physically speaking to anyone). In which the advisor seemed to be talking to multiple people (assumed from the delay in responses) and repeatedly asked for my voucher ref to check if the voucher had been activated when I stated I didn't have it with me but wanted to know why I was being overcharged he just assured me that if I activated it the problem would rectify itself, or he would refund it. (Luckily, I downloaded the chat) Fast forward a few days, I activated the vouchers, paid the additional £180, and generated a code, to then the code be "invalid". After another lengthy exchange via live chat, to be told the booking system is down (for that activity) and has been down for a while (if ever actually working). But because I activated the vouchers, they are not eligible for a refund. I raised a complaint with a response saying I could only have a refund on the £180, not the other (£160), as it was outside the 30 days, yet that's not what the other agent had said or was prepared to do before I activated the voucher. So I was advised to active, knowing full well that would void the refund. There is no time on the system being back on line; even if I accept the refund, I now can't afford to go direct as the remaining money is tied up within a system that I cant book. Even though technically, the vouchers are now intertwined with the most recent purchase and within 30 days. Responses from the company are vague, and non-acceptance of being able to purchase an activity knowing I would not be able to book. I await the "we are sorry but keeping your money" response.

I have just been on an online chat with a represntative, who ended the chat as in their words were bored going round in circles and felt they would not be able to sort the issue and I would have to sort myself. They do not have a telephone number and this is the only means of contact, therefore they need to ensure they can, and do resolve issues. Bought theatre tickets in west end and Afternoon tea in Harrods (£229) for wife and sister in law. Went to book and no tickets available on most days in most shows unless you spend a fortune upgrading. To make matters worse if you book the two experiences yourself, you can do so cheaper than the original voucher before they have the cheek to try to charge you more. I do not expect a bog standard response from red letter days as most have recieved below. All I requested was to book reasonable seats to a show we could attend (that were available and as mentioned cheaper on a different booking site) on our voucher already bought. Please, please, please spend the extra 5 minute booking them yourself Do NOT USE this awful joke of a company!

Bought a spa day for the wife, went to book it a day later and the “experience” location has now been removed. Trying to get hold of some one is impossible, never again use this company, Will just keep writing 1 star reviews until I get my refund

Bad bad bad bad and I’m going to shout from the hill tops. A friend bought us a voucher which is 95% useless. No wonder this company went under once before. Can’t even book a simple meal for two for a show we have booked. Either you can’t use it at weekends or the venue have so many obstacles in place to use it. Don’t buy these voucher people. I’m going to get the person who got us ours to get their money back.

The cash would have been so much easier for the transaction. Where is the benefit in these vouchers. You are not giving a gift, you are giving the recipient a task. The restaurant we went to said it was a weekly occurrence where people were having difficulties redeeming them. I think an investigative journalist should look into this company. What percentage of their turnover isn't redeemed?

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! At all costs avoid this company! It was not possible to book the experience sent as a gift. Customer services don’t respond with anything but an automated email response. We eventually found a way to book an alternative cheaper experience but we don’t know if we will be able to use this before the expiry date and will have lost for certain about £20 of the value of the original vouchers.

After you have been gifted a voucher, it is almost impossible to redeem. I ended up having to use the red letter voucher to exchange for a hotel voucher with no confirmation that the hotel could actually do the date, or were able to offer the services listed.

Very disappointed as i bought a luxury 2 night break as a gift, when they tried to book, either dates not available or big subsidies to pay which would probably have cost them more than my gift. They ended up with one of the only ones available without any extra cost, but not the luxury break I paid for. Will not be buying again as am totally disgusted that they ended up with a mediocre hotel.

I was never able to book a place. I jotted every time and day. Nothing available. Because of that I also lost my payment and cannot get a refund either. Disappointed.

Queued for over 1 hour to register for a 1030 booking which took till 1140, which was lucky as it was outside and dry. After waiting 10mins for my name to be called for a sighting lap, eventually an announcement was made to join a queue in different place. Poor signage with people stood in front of paper signs, I was stood in queue for being driven on a fast lap instead of sighting lap, then eventually realised along with other people and had to join another queue. The sighting lap has to be completed before driving cars, my name was called several times whilst waiting for a sighting lap. Then had to wait for my name to be called again for the drives. On the app that shows waiting times for the cars, the one car said ready in 20 mins. After about 45 mins I noticed the car hadn’t moved nor the names on the list so enquired as to what was happening. Apparently an instructor hadn’t turned up despite the fact that the car had been around the circuit several times earlier, they eventually found an instructor and the 2 names in front of me were called and I think they must have given up and gone home so I went in next, that was at 3.30pm so you need most of the day at the circuit despite what you are told on line. When I eventually drove the cars it was a great experience although one of the cars wasn't available.. It was basically organised chaos.

Got these as presents and for special occasions. It was meant to be as a treat and to be enjoyable!!!! Do not use this company !!! I have had nothing but disappointment - one Red Letter experience was grossly oversold - what we received was a far cry from what we were lead to expect it was very cheap and basic. The other experiences I have yet to use I’m still trying to either cancel or extend due to unexpected illness. I have now been waiting for a response from Red Letter Day and been chasing regularly for over a month ?! They know I’m very unwell and waiting for surgery they just don’t care !! Every time we have tried to use a experience the process to book is painful with the process being long winded and frustrating never again ! I spent a great deal with this company and I’m bitterly disappointed it’s really hard to get in contact with their customer services and by this point considering my question was very simple I feel they are dragging their heels so they can turn around and say - sorry your experiences have now expired- I just want to get a refund if my experiences can’t be extended or extended to use when I’m better!! This is still going on I last emailed them again asking for an answer last week !!

Had a voucher for 2 days at a hotel plus dinner for two. Tried many locations but all were unavailable but I could have an expensive upgrad! To check if the unavailability was true I tried to book hotels where I lived which I knew had vacancies and got the same result. This company is running a scam and I don't know how they have escaped the authorities. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

We received theatre & dinner for two vouchers as a gift. To redeem requires downloading two separate voucher references then proceeding to book separately. We booked the theatre then chose a restaurant (Zizzi's) but only when we downloaded the Zizzi's voucher we discovered it was only valid for 60 days and the theatre tickets we'd booked were for after this date. Rather than struggle to change dates we decided to go ahead with the meal date before the deadline, but had to cancel at short notice due to illness. I have requested an extension for the meal voucher using the online request facility on the Red Letter site twice and have still had no response (despite a promise on the site of a 4 hour response). I haven't even had an automated confirmation of my request. Why is it all so difficult?
