“Please be really careful with Rated people I'm speaking from my own experience which was terrible. I was on Rated people for 4-5 months with electrical trade and I've have won 0 jobs and in the same time with all my clients outside rated people I'm having none issues. For example: 1. Most of the adverts/leads are fake Uploading 2-3 times with same photos slightly different budget and description and normally lead should be uploaded just once and bought only 3 times from 3 different trades people. 2. On most advert you can't get in touch with the person they don't answer calls, text messages or emails Or if they do and you agree to meet with them to create a quote 90% of the time they will cancel it on the last moment or stop answering your calls prior meeting. So you are basically ending up with wasted own time and money for nothing in return. Yes you have the option to ask for refund on unsuccessful jobs but this is limited and also any credit isn't available for use on the next month. ***** I did contact rated people to get my account cancelled as I'm not happy at all with them services and they are refusing to cancel it stating that I've got 12 month contract with them which cannot be cancelled until is expired. But I never signed a contract with them, never been told, or informed when applying that they work like that, all I've been told is that every month when I top up my account with credit I can use that credit to buy leads and if I don't have credit I simply cannot buy any leads same as pay as you go sim card. So I've decided to mark my card as stolen in order to stop paying anymore to them (I couldn't just cancel the direct debit because they keep the information from your card in order to collect money from you every month) And now they insist that I own them 500£ for not paying them. 4-5 months in row but when you don't pay you cannot use any of them services. And basically they expect me to pay for nothing provided in return and threatening to transfer me to third party DEBT COLLECTORS. So please be careful if you decide to choose rated people as they can create massive headache to you, thank you for reading my comment hopefully it's been some help.”

“Got ripped off by a bankrupt conman builder supposedly 'rated' on here to the tune of 24k. Reported to the police, avoid this site. Avoid Sean McCann from Urban Construction Limited”

“This company don’t post negative reviews. Hired O Skeffington Construction LTD through Rated People. The job was dreadful and I made a successful claim through the courts. I posted a negative review of this company and it wasn’t put on the website. I have messaged 4 times through the website and emailed twice and had no response. Customer service is non existent and as negative ratings aren’t published none of the star ratings on the website can be trusted. Avoid the Rated People website.”

“Jim Crawford Plumbing - I had been searching unsuccessfully for a plumber until I contacted Rated withIN 1 hour I had received contact from Jim Crawford and after a brief conversation engaged Jim to complete my job. Jim arrived at the designated time and after initially coming up against one or two obstacles managed to provide a solution (BRILLIANT) then proceeded to complete the job (BRILLIANT) job was completed perfectly and price quoted was also brilliant. I would have no hesitation in recommending JIM CRAWFORD PLUMBING for any/all plumbing jobs and Jim will be my first point of contact if further jobs are rrequired 11 out of 10 EXCELLENT”

“I have tried to reset the password but I am having difficulties. Lightning Security CCTV completed the job I needed doing. Our phones kept showing offline and were not linked to the CCTV. The chap was very efficient and on time . Top marks for all the scores required. Very satisfied”

“Have been scammed by a lying cheating landscaper DH & Sons, Danny Harvey, a complete scumbag who has taken thousands and left us with dangerous half completed disability ramps and a mud bath garden. Unable to leave a negative review, not holding my breath on getting any help from them after reading of other people having the same problem. So much for their screening process. Beware and do not believe their reviews will never use them again.”

“I registered 1 week a go to post 2 jobs, then somehow got blocked out of my account.I have emailed 50 or so times since then trying to get the account unblocked +/or change my password so that I can log in but with no success.I have posted many messages using the contactform but have received no replies at all from customer services. I suggest using another site-I think this site is unmanned. In fact, I simultaneously posted the jobs on another site and someone actually called me when I needed some help”

“Had a business on this platform. Lasted into my fith year.Boy have I ever made a big mistake using this site! The rich customers expect a cheap job and the poor customers I do not want. I cannot make enough money on this poorly organised site. It is like being on a roulette table. The odds are stacked against you. get my Drift. Does not even pay the bills 7 months out of a full year. Happy to be away from these confidence sucking, money greedy parasites that are destroying the reputations of honest good fairing tradesmen. The positive thing I can take from this is that " I have now moved on". If you join this site it will be a case of "damn that torpedo, full steam ahead"”

“Used this site to try to locate a roofer. Seems they simply sold my details to a random individual who turned up (while I was out) did a shoddy job, actually did more damage to the roof and intimidated my wife into agreeing a vastly inflated price. They refused to accept any responsibility for this and simply said they would cancel the account of the "tradesman" whose name they'd provided (who wasn't even the guy who turned up). Avoid at all costs”

“Had RoadPave renew our drive. terrible job and despite months going by it hasn't been fixed yet. We are met with aggression whenever we try to discuss it and it is becoming obvious we will have to take matters further. This company has a suspiciously high number of 10 out of 10 reviews. I suspect there are many fake ones amongst them. Avoid this company like the plague”

“Awful company to deal with as a trader take a monthly payment from your account for leads credits that money to you account then goes about sending a lot of leads however 70- 80% of the leads you get are outside of the area you've agreed to working or in a different sector at times becomes very difficult to spend your monthly payment in leads and whe I asked what happens to the difference does it roll over I was told no it disappears???? So unless your prepared to spend most of the day in your van travelling to jobs out of your area and kiss any credit you can't spend avoid this company”

“It was the biggest mistake of my life to sign up rated people reason I am leaving this review I don't want anyone else to get into this trap I signed up and been promised for credit for a certain amount and also been told my credit will roll to next month but that never happen and I been trying to call and they don't answer on phone and when they want to sell some thing that are really good calling you and answering your phone I sent no of emails and received only one response Kieran Hiett with threat to me we will do this & that against you She don't have any manners how to behave a customer now I am waiting for my problem to be sorted next step will be to report them to trading standard I will make sure I will report them to each and every platform so that cant scam any one else if I made no of calls they are sleeping or May be like any other companies using corona an excuse may be I think Corona Period is end now they Should wake up and listen to customer problems My advise to every trades person avoid raterpeople if you care about your hard earn money Their customer services is bad and there is really less opportunity to win any leads as there is really tough competition”

“Firstly, I don't see why I can't score zero, rated people are not worth 1. Not only did Rated People steer me to a rogue trader who ripped me off but that trader then used my personal details from Rated People to rip someone else off. Seriously, just ask on your local community website for trustworthy traders. Personal recommendations are best. The anonymous review below this is of Perfect Seal Roofing. The scammer used the name of a local (legit) business on Rated People and my name - although he didn't spell it correctly. On rated people it is possible for the traders to recommend their own work! They claim it isn't but they have been exposed in the national press for this.”

“Paul Guartey of perfect seal roofing ruined me off 2k. 3 Irish lads put up guttering that’s all got to come down. They’ve disappeared. Rated people gave me the address they registered with but I suspect they’re committing identity fraud and operating under roofing company names that have great reviews. Reported to trading standards and citizens advice are assisting me. I doubt I’ll find them but I’m going to try.”
