I write this on the day my father has passed away; just five weeks after my mother. As a close family but living countries apart, there was never any possibility of a family funeral. We approached Pure Cremations on recommendation 5 weeks ago. We have called them again. Recomendation.

Pure Cremations made a very difficult and daunting task very easy for me and my family after our loss. They provided all the necessary advice and instructions from our very first call. Their care, understanding and keeping you updated was nothing short of excellent. They will always try to accommodate your special requests, such as flowers and anything (within their standard guidelines) to go with your loved ones. I highly recommend their service. Thank you to Ashly and the team at Pure Cremation for all your help during such difficult times.

So sick of their TV advert because it is twice as loud as everything else on the television, and we need to rush to turn the TV down each time it comes on as it the ad is so exceptionally and unnecessarily loud. I will never consider using them because their advert is so annoying.

Oh dear! we get many compliments about our TV advert and this is the first time that anyone has mentioned a difference in volume since it began running in November 2019 - we would be very happy to receive details of the channel you were watching so that we can investigate and take any necessary action. Please feel free to call 0800 0337737 and pass on this information.

I found Pure Cremation to be very professional and extremely helpful, especially Peter Wheeler and Lucie Chandler. It was nice to know they were on the other end of the telephone when I had questions to ask. I felt nothing was too much trouble, at this sad and stressful time. I was given dates covering two weeks to chose for the committal, which again, was very helpful. When contacting Peter the day before the committal, it was nice that he knew my mother's name without me having to prompt him - I certainly can't fault anything, and would recommend Pure Cremation to people.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review. We are very proud of our team and the way that each person tries to make a difficult time a little easier for the families we care for - it is very encouraging to hear that we have made a positive difference. I had got some quotes on funerals, they were all horribly expensive. I also didn't much like the restrictions of crematoriums, generally a half hour conveyor belt arrangement, difficult to get really personal in that time. By chance I happened across Pure Cremation. The price was very good, affordable even. Not only that but the fact that I chose not to have an attended cremation meant we had more money to spend on a good memorial at home once the ashes of my Dad arrived home. Now, me and my sister live in differing counties so I drove to the offices and collected half Dads ashes in an urn I provided myself and the remainder were sent to my sister included in the price. Having visited the premises I can say that it is beautiful, right near a cricket ground and not far from where they made Downton Abbey in lovely countryside. The service is held in a lovely modern location and there is plenty of parking. All the staff I dealt with were really helpful and 'human'. I never felt like I was asking too many questions or wasting their time or that I was just a number to them. This sort of thing isn't for everyone. For many, myself included, it is not local. But if you are looking for value, don't mind an unattended cremation (or don't mind travelling), it's excellent. I took my friend along, I am his next of kin and after seeing it he's told me that he also wants an unattended cremation with Pure Cremation.

Dear Steve, Thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed review. I know that others will find this extremely helpful. It's always lovely to hear what a difference it makes when our staff go above and beyond to meet a family's exact needs. We are very proud of the crematorium which we hope demonstrates how much we care about the service we offer; I'm so glad it made a good impression on you and your friend. Best wishes Catherine

You are not a customer and are abusing this review facility for defamation and slander against a company director. Your IP and email address have been passed to the authorities and legal team.

You get "very poor" because you have sent me an email about a "recent purchase" with regard to the cremation of my mother! You need to work on your wording here. Pretty insensitive, eh?

Dear Mr Ratcliffe-Palmer, I note your comment. I am sorry that the terminology used by the independent reviews service that we use has so completely overshadowed the care and service delivered by our dedicated people. We have sent out more than 3,000 review requests and this is the first time that we have received a comment about the wording, however, I nevertheless would like to apologise for any distress that you have experienced as a result.

All good except my expectation was that the deceased's ashes would be returned within 21 days - this was exceeded by about 10 days. This was not a problem for us but could be for others. No explanation or apology was offered, (or requested btw).

Dear Mr Charman, I note your comments and would like to reply. We commit to returning a loved one's ashes within 21 days of the cremation, which typically occurs within 2 weeks of the original instruction to care for someone who has died. I can confirm that we completed our service for your family within our usual 5-week timeframe but will make sure that this information is made crystal clear to all families in the future to avoid any anxiety or misunderstanding at a stressful time.

we never had any contact in person with anybody and you do wonder if the body has been collected and if everything worked out o.k.but you are too upset to make phonecalls.

Thank you for your comments. We always aim to treat people in a manner that gives them the level of contact they require. Having reviewed our records we note that following our telephone conversation, you chose not to be informed of the date of the cremation and for the ashes to be scattered in the Garden of Remembrance. For your peace of mind I can confirm that we collected your loved one on the 1st May, the same day we received the paperwork and the cremation took place on the 3rd May. As is usual practice in order to give people time to change their mind, the scattering of the ashes will take place on 3rd June. We are very proud of the many reviews we have received mentioning our sensitive and responsive communication with relatives and are sorry that, on reflection you would have preferred a greater level of contact than requested.

When choosing pure cremations it wasn’t it wasn’t some thing my late uncle wanted as he stipulated he did not want anything he was donating his body to science, then when it was too late to do this,I was given the leaflet to pure cremations, they were very quick and respectful, and very professional, and under the circumstances that faced me,they were brilliant,I was notified of the commital date, and after this,I was notified by the office that my uncles ashes could be delivered to me anytime any where in the country.

My husband passed away in November 2018. His wish was to have an 'unattended cremation'. The only close family allowed to say goodbye and that was done prior to Pure Cremation, in a hospital. So from that point, we needed a Direct Cremation service. Prior to choosing Pure Cremation, I had several days calling similar companies online, and to my surprise, all other orgs asked for all money upfront before revealing the forms. I needed to see documents first before I could pay the entire amount. Pure Cremation posted me forms and an invoice first. All I needed to do is to post back forms and pay the invoice by transferring the money online. From that point, there were no more tasks for us, just the wait. Everything was done much quicker than indicated on the website. Even the hand delivery was within a week from the actual creation date. Pure Cremation Support Team kept me updating with all the stages by calling and emailing me. They were easy to reach with any questions. they also provided us with Documentation for Travelling with Ashes out of the UK, for no extra cost. I cannot overestimate how well they did this hard task. I would certainly recommend them to anyone whose wish is very similar. Thank you!

The whole process was handled professionally and with consideration. A phone call was all it took to start the proceedings and then just simple paperwork. It left my sister and I to concentrate on other matters, with the staff at Pure Cremations keeping us informed at every stage. The ashes were returned on the day and time I had requested by a gentleman who could not have been kinder. We all hope never to have to arrange a funeral but chances are we will at some stage be involved in doing so and having dealt with the ‘conventional’ type on a number of occasions I can honestly say that our experience with Pure Cremations is the one I would recommend.

I was looking after my father who had a terminal cancer diagnosis; he didn't want a full funeral and had just requested a close family scattering of ashes. We decided on a basic cremation package. I did a lot of research on the net regarding companies and read many reviews before making my decision. I spoke to Pure Cremation on the phone and arranged things so that when I needed them everything was set up. They were very courteous and highly professional at all times, they inform you of all aspects of the process and took so much stress out of a difficult situation. I would highly recommend them.

My Dad always told us that we should put his body in a bin bag and take it to the local crem. We knew he didn't want to have any fuss. When we came to the dread event, we found that Pure Cremation were making a very clear offer in respect of a Direct Cremation at a very competitive price. There was plenty of clear information on their website and I was able to reassure my siblings that Dad's wishes could be respected without any of the DIY that he had joked about. The required forms were simple to complete and making the advance payment was straightforward. We didn't attend the committal but, as asked, we were told of the date so that each of us could mark the event in our own ways. Dad's ashes were delivered to me at home exactly as arranged by a very respectful Pure Cremation operative. We're now arranging for an Interment of Dad's ashes in the family grave followed by a reception for his family and friends in one of his favourite seaside restaurants. Completely satisfied with the Pure Cremation approach and service. Thanks.

It was my Mother's choice for a "Direct Cremation", but after some research it was my choice to go with Pure Cremation. They were exceptional in every respect. Very well organised, excellent in terms of responsiveness and communication and very caring and sensitive throughout. I would 100% recommend them. Thank you.

Everything runs very smoothly at the Pure Cremation end and what is promised, making the whole process very simple and escaping from a traditional funeral, is certainly delivered. I have fed back to Pure Cremation the difficulties I experienced at the GP surgery when my father's death occurred over a bank holiday, in a care home, when the GP wasn't the person signing the death certificate. The information pack now does try to explain that GPs unfamiliar with Pure Cremation can receive further information about how a death will be handled in these circumstances. However it would be much clearer if it was explained to the person organising the cremation. 1) That the body might have to be brought back to local undertakers (if that is what happens) for the GP to view but that Pure Cremation will organise this without difficulty (which it did). 2) The GP can issue the part of the death certificate necessary to take to the registrar and register the death without having seen the body. (Still not clear in information pack). It is not sufficient to issue guidance only to GPs who are not familiar with Pure Cremation, those of us organising need to know exactly what the procedures are. The information pack is still short of these details. Otherwise an excellent service.

My late husbands wishes were carried out perfectly. The whole matter was carried out professionally and the staff, including Wayne who delivered the ashes, were friendly and caring. Thank you to you all.

Having discovered Pure Cremation in 2014 when my father died, their service so suited his and our views in preference over the usual crematorium affair, so that when my partner died 4 years later they were unquestionably my choice for him too. In the course of a coversation with Wayne who had both collected my partner’s body and returned his ashes, having taken him on every stage of the interviewing journey, I realised he had cared for the man who’s body he had taken into his charge and that his was one of the “caring” professions, no less for being last in line of “cradle to grave” I was unexpectedly touched and comforted by this. So Thank You ❤️.

Absolutely excellent service: I was kept informed at all times and everyone was polite and helpful and did exactly what they had promised despite tight timescale for delivery of the ashes to me. Everything was perfect which really helped at such a difficult time.
