“Was quoted £168 to fix a toilet ball valve that wouldn't shut off. Plumber turned up, was there for two minutes and said he didn't have the part with him but would check with his supplier and call back. I received no callback, but found the valve myself in the local Screwfix for £7.
I called them back to say I would sort it myself but was told that the £168 call out charge would still apply and now had VAT added taking the charge to over £200!

“Mother in law has a broken shower. Plumber came out to look at job and she was charged £170.00 and he was only there for 17 minutes!! Absolutely disgusting. Avoid these cowboys at all costs! “Having called this company out to a problem of a kitchen sink waste pipe blockage. They arrived on the day called out, 16th September 2023. A part was required to complete the job. As it was a Saturday, and they don't have many operatives working on a Sunday, they would come back on Monday 18th September 2023. We received a call on the Sunday to say that the part would be £88.20! I queried this an was told that was the price. As the operative had left the sink in operable, I reluctantly agreed as the householder was elderly and had various health problems requiring carers calling morning and evening, myself attending mid day. On Monday the 18th September we received a call to say the operative could not attend that day. I reiterated the health, and age of the householder to no avail. I was told the operate would come on 19th September. On the 19th September we had a further call to say that the operative had an emergency to attend to and he would come out first thing on the 21st September. I again explaining the problems, age and health wise concerning the householder. Still no joy! On the 20th September a text was received saying that Thursdays visit would now be in the afternoon, not morning as promised. The operative actually arrived at approximately 10-30am on the morning of the 21st and completed the repair in less than ten minutes. He also left the parts box. Having googled how much the Nabis 1 1/2" sink combi waste (c50014) was from Wolsey it said £6.35 inclusive of VAT. I have today, 27th September, received a call back from customer services saying that the price for the part is correct at £88.20 as they have to put a mark up on the price and they guarantee the part for 12 months.
Please think again before contemplating using this company after reading my experience with them. Caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware) How true!!”

Called me back three days later with quote for repair - £246.00. Had a quote from another plumber - £130.00. Regret I didn't read the reviews before calling them in. These fraudsters attended my parents house on 26th September and charged £220 for a small bathroom leak. This was early evening so an “out of hours” call but still extortionate given all they did was rip a couple of tiles off to expose a pipe that needed replacement.
The following day they attended during normal working hours and charge a disgusting £305 per hour to fit the new water pipe. Total bill for that day was £420! So well overall £600 for an extremely straightforward job.
I queried the bills with customer service who are equally as useless as they have asked my parents for proof of what has been taken out of their account knowing full well what they had charged. This is because Rightio take bank card details when customers first make contact and then actually take the money automatically without customer consent. Despite emails and telephone calls from both myself and my parents they have still not responded and any contact has been with a different person each time.
This organisation should be investigated by the appropriate parties as their business practices fall well below any level of standards or fair charging policies. I am currently in discussions with Trading Standards who are very interested having received a number of other complaints.
Please DO NOT USE THEM unless you want to get totally and utterly ripped off!”
“DO NOT USE THIS ROGUE COMPANY I contacted Rightio for a boiler service and a dripping tap.They asked for my card details and security code I should have known better than to give the details to them they could have filled in any amount.The boiler was serviced no problems found charged £118.80 which i thought was O.K.Plumber said all i needed for the tap was a part and it would be cheaper than a new Tap the tap is 2 years old.He said he would order it and fit it next day he never came and I have never heard from him since.Rightio told me a payment of £147.60 on my cheque card would be taken for the tap.Many phone calls and ignored Emails later over the next 6 weeks and no Hot water downstairs as he had turned the water off.My Son fitted it for me in 10 minutes and the part was under £10.Rightio said I had given them the authority to take the money out of my account £147.60 and they would have charged extra for the Tap.I have contacted Trading Standards and Citizens Rights they say I have a good case.I contacted Rightio and they couldn't have cared less.I wish I had read all of their Feedbacks and I would not have used them they are rogue traders and need stopping this underhand treatment.”
“Customer support very very poor, when I phoned this company they said someone will be out right away, that was 2days later when I rang on the 27th,I asked for 4pm instead I get a text between 130 2pm the plumber diagnosed problem he arrived at 1404 and left1417 in all 11mins work cost 177-00 ,I paid an extra 9-00to join care club to get 15-00 pounds off,when I complained they didn’t care less ,stay away from this company,,all they care about is money no customer care at all, The real thing that got under my skin they charged just over 16-00pounds a minute robbing sods. Problem was a blocked toilet but can you believe it....on job sheet said ‘ Bath plug hole was full of hair’ no mention of attendance to unblock toilet.
Came back eventually, a tradesmen from another area, who had a jetter but toilet blocked up again within 12 hours. Didn’t take the toilet back off. So unhappy with the service found a reputable tradesmen, problem was fixed within 30 mins, a plastic cover from a cosmetic cream was the culprit which should have been identified as the root cause immediately by the cowboys.
Please don’t use Rightio, they should be ashamed of their shoddy workmanship ,and customer service. Ombudsmen should be aware !Company needs looking into by Trading Standards . 0/10”

“Utterly disastrous. Extortionate expensive. Extremely poor service. I was left with a disaster in my kitchen and a continuous leaking tap. They promised to come back the next day to complete the job however after phoning several times I was told they wouldn't make it till the following day. They have the nerve to charge £174.00+ vat for 1 hours work, the plumber entire time at the job was 25minutes. How can the get away with charging nearly £250 for leaking tap and a part costing £25which I can add only cost £9.00 elsewhere. Never use this firm shop around and use local honest tradesmen.”
“Rang them Friday midday with an emergency. Said they would be here Friday afternoon. Wanted my card details up front. Didn’t arrive. I rang them. Said they would come Saturday morning 8-11am. “Wish I'd checked out the 1 star reviews for this low-down underhanded company. Was quoted £119 for (own) kitchen tap replacement (no mention of VAT). Job took the plumber 20 minutes over the hour so we were charged for 2 hours labour, plus a couple of flexible hoses that were necessary, plus VAT. Total cost £285. Watch out for when they ask you for your card details upfront (no going back then when they make excuses (lies?) about engineer availability and change your appointment times to a later date. Would NEVER recommend. Beware.”

“I am in the process of buying a house and contacted this company to undertake a Gas Safe inspection. Speaking with their representative Richard Carter I should have realised what a hopeless company they were to turn out to be as he had little or no knowledge of the Gas Safe inspection. Having made the necessary arrangements last I heard nothing. When I called their 'operations centre' I was told my job had been cancelled with no explanation or notification to me. This company scores 0/10 all all fronts.”
