Good Morning. We are sorry to hear that you have not experienced a smooth project completion. All though we do not know the history of your issues, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience you may have been caused during the supply. The industry is experiencing some supply issues at the moment and unfortunately, our supply chain has been impacted by this, which is currently out of our control. We are trying in all supply requests to meet delivery schedules, but due to these ongoing supply problems, it's not always been possible. We also cannot comment on the installation or glass supply as this would have been undertaken by a trade partner that took on your project. We are however glad to hear that you now have your Origin products installed, and from the pictures attached look great. My dog wants to get in on the pictures all the time as well. We had our Origin bifold doors fitted by an installer, Origin themselves came back and replaced them. They continue to keep dropping but Origin will not cover this with there 20 year warranty dispute them fitting them. They obviously don’t stand by there guarantee! The seals have shrunk and let draft in but they have just dismissed this! DO NOT BUY ANY ORIGIN PRODUCT as there guarantee does not cover anything and they don’t care about there customers

I bought my bifold door through an Origin approved company. I am writing this to make people aware of a problem with the lock on bifold doors. I would like to draw your attention to an incident that happened at my property in July 2020. An attempt was made to gain entry into my house. Luckily the house alarm was activated but in the process the burglar had snapped the lock on my bifold doors and entered into my home. The lock should not protrude as it enables burglars to grip and snap the barrel. When I bought Origin bifold doors I did so after much research. The reason I chose this company was because of the reputation, style and security. I was therefore shocked that anti snap, anti drill and anti bump locks are not fitted as standard. My doors are only 2 years old. I feel that no matter how good the security on the actual door is, if the barrel is easy to break into it defeats the object of the whole system. I complained to Origin and was told that they no longer use 1 star barrels. If they have now changed the locks and they use to a more secure lock then they should have alerted people who had purchased their doors so that they can decide if they wanted to upgrade the barrels themselves. I was so certain for the last 2 years that with their reputation that the doors would have the most secure system on the market. I have now changed the barrel to the maximum security type recommended by the police. If I was given an option at the time of purchase I would have paid an additional amount of money for peace of mind.

Despite contacting origin to discuss how dangerous the bifold doors we have installed could be we’ve met with nothing but avoidance. If we open the access door and secure it back on to the magnet, we would presume that it would be safe. NO. Today, again, a gust of breeze has caused the door to come lose and slam into the door aperture. If a child had been co I got I. Or out or a hand had been on the frame, serious damage could have occurred When we purchased the doors we saw 2 magnets to secure the open door. When installed there was only one. Despite contacting Origin, and being assured they would provide our supplier with the necessary magnets this has not happened and now our supplier is missing in action and Origin refuse to talk to the customer. My husband is at his wits end with these windows. He’s having to finish installation and sealing himself as we cannot get the fitter to respond to requests to finish the work and Origin refuse to take responsibility for a product that does not live up to its image and advertising I cannot recommend this product at all. It’s not cheap yet I feel we have got a third rate product for a top level price Totally disgusted J Guess

Good Afternoon, Origin will be able to supply the additional magnet however you would have to request this via the original installer as they will need to install this for you. The Magnets on the bi-fold doors are not designed for wind resistance so we would not recommend relying on them to hold the door in high winds. Kind Regards Origin

Impossible to get Origin to cover contractual warranty. I installed a $10,000.00 folding door. The hinges broke for the second time. Origin acknowledges parts are under warranty but for the past 8 months it has been IMPOSSIBLE to have them fix the issue. DISHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT. So ridiculous, I have to get my attorney involved for breach of contract.

Do not believe that by using an Origin trade partner will guarantee you get good glazing. We have ended up with very poor glass units in our bi-folds (dirty marks, scratches etc). The installer has refused even to come back and see for himself. We thought that as Origin recommended them they would do something to remedy our complaints. How wrong we were. Take my advice and spend your money elsewhere !!!

Good Afternoon, We apologise for the bad experience that you have been having with your Glazing units and the Trade partner provided. As we are separate a company from our Trade partners, we try to provide as much information as we can, whether it’s in the advice centre https://origin-global.com/advice-centre/what-to-consider-when-looking-for-a-tradesperson or on our find a local installer/ showroom pages when searching, that we are separate companies so that home owners are able to do their own research and due diligence before purchasing. As the aluminium manufacturer, we provide our Trade partners with the frames and components needed and they themselves source the glazing units. If there are any issues with the glazing units then this would have to be discussed with your specific Trade partner in order to assess and rectify any issues you are encountering. I am very happy with my new front door & bi-folds bought through Origin. From start to finish the process was made easy by Origin's excellent sales team. Had a slight issue with the door plate on the front door, however this was quickly resolved. I would highly recommend Origin to anyone!

Very disappointed with our doors. Chose Origin after seeing numerous ads/references in homebuilding mags/Grand designs etc. The windows have only 1 minor fault; there seems to be something non-stainless inside one of the frames that is rusting causing rust coloured water to drain out onto the white render and staining it. Other than that, they are very solid with an engineered feel to them, the opening mechanism is very slick and not a breath of draught gets through. The aluminium doors on the other hand have proven to be a complete waste of money. The front door leaks and the multi lever locks don't engage in 1 or possibly 2 of the lower slots even though the lock slots are adjusted to the max of its range. The rear door leaks pools of water onto the floor when the weather blows rain directly onto it and constantly needs the locks tightening to stop severe draughts. Our previous solid wooden door was more weather proof. The leak appears to be a design fault where water that gets through the seal bridges a plastic spacer (you can see the water trail) into the house instead of running out of the drain. I have approached Origin several times with this; after months they sent out a representative who blamed the fitters saying they were out of tolerance. The fitters came and set up lasers and showed they were adjusted within tolerance and stated it was a design fault. With each blaming each other, Origin have 'offered' to correct the fitment for £350. I thought I was buying a mid to premium product so obviously disappointed I've wasted thousands of £s.

As you have already been in touch with people at Origin, I don’t think there’s much I can add in here apart from saying we are here if you want to discuss it further and to offer some reassurance. Our products have all been designed and manufactured in the UK and tested against all required standards to ensure optimum operation, weatherproofing and performance. Origin are responsible for the manufacture and guarantee of the frames whilst the local partner guarantees the installation so the responsibility of any remedial work sits with the installer. As an Origin engineer has been out to assess the installation and offered various options to get this rectified, I will leave it with you as to whether you accept this. We have two full height gable windows from Origin, we are having awful problems with condensation on the inside of the frames. This is not coming from the glass just the aluminium frame. Origin have told us to take it up with the installer but he says there is nothing he can do as it is down to the way they are made. It is that bad it is now starting to ruin our new carpet. So as others have said the warranty that is provided with these windows is useless. Also have two very draughty doors which also came from Origin and no one wants to help us. Very disappointed

Have had a two door unit fitted, the doors do not stay closed and cannot be operated from both sides. A good looking product but functionally poor.

I have installed 4 sets of 3m wide triple pane bifold doors. I researched options very carefully and decided on Origin on the basis of perceived high product quality, rapid delivery possibilities as well as the recommendations of my chosen installer. However since installation I have had 2 major problems where the response from Origin has been either dismissive or helpful but misleading. Firstly I had to write to complain about the traffic door very quickly slamming shut in no more than a moderate breeze. I wrote to Origin with my very serious concerns about the danger to a child who might be beside the door as it slammed. Especially, if he/she might happen to be standing with their hand on the jamb. The slamming door could amputate little fingers. The somewhat dismissive written response from Origin was that the door magnets are not intended to hold a door in position once opened. Yet their online brochure, in the section headed "Keeping the Family Safe" still says " Special finger-safe gaskets stop little fingers from getting trapped when the doors are in use, while magnetic catches hold the doors firmly in place once you’ve folded them back". My experience does not support this claim and we were dismayed at how Origin dismissed our concerns. The offer of free extra magnets was placatory and did not address the root cause of the problem. My second problem has been excessive amounts of water ingress partly through the glazed door panels and partly through the ends of the lower frame. I was initially told that the drainage channel through the bottom track was open at the ends and that Origin relied on installers to seal it on fitting. My installer was sure that this had never been part of Origin's training and after he removed the door we found that the channels were indeed sealed, but in one case not completely. My analysis of the problem has shown that water has somehow been collecting on the inside ledge of the bottom track, under the inner seal. I have seen water bubbling up through this seal and the ends of this ledge indeed not sealed. But, I have had to work this out for myself as Origin did not seem to be aware of this mechanism. Yes, we might have had the problem during high wind and lashing rain, but the purpose of any quality bifold is to keep the weather outside where it belongs and not to let water inside. I have had to collect over a litre of water which has passed through the doors and track. As the door is on the first floor, before I was able to collect water, is just it flowed down and damaged a newly decorated ceiling of the new room beneath. As you can guess we were very unhappy about this and we will await next winter with trepidation.

Good Afternoon Mike, We are sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your Origin doors. Regarding the magnetic catches - apologies if you found our literature misleading, the updated information states that the catches are to temporarily hold the doors in place whilst they are being operated. The finger safe gaskets between the doors create a cushion to prevent fingers being harmed should they get accidentally trapped. The issue with the water collecting in your track is an installation issue which should be remedied by the company who supplied and fitted the doors. The track ends should have been properly sealed during installation of the doors and this is covered in the installation training we provide to our trade partners and also included in our installation guide. Whilst they remain an independent company, any trade partner recommended by Origin would have offered training in installation, product knowledge and customer service. I had my new Bi-fold doors fitted on Monday 1st April 2019. They are very easy to open and close and have a good seal all round. Quality is fantastic and they look great - well worth the money. We used an origin recommended installer (BJB Windows Ltd Guildford) who did a top class job and were very professional (who I would highly recommend). A good experience all round.

We love the bi fold doors and the window from Origin. They have a dramatic effect on the extension we have built. The bespoke colour was perfect, and matched the rest of the project exactly. The only reason for not giving very good is that we have had challenges with the company we used to procure and install the products. Unfortunately this has slightly diminished our experience. I would absolutely recommend the product, you just need to be careful which distributor you use to supply and fit the product.

Our Bi-fold doors we’re purchased from Landmark windows of Plymouth and we couldn’t be more pleased with the service and product from start to final completion. We have two sets of bifold doors that cost a lof of money compared to others on the market. They are supposed to be one of the best. Both the opening doors let in a draught (even after fitter has been backed to refit) and they seals are awful. They are really weak and just split. Really not worth the money and certainly not a quality produce.

Doors were fitted by supplier in a timely manner to a good standard pleased so far after the building was finished we had a professional window cleaner to clean them he noticed that on 2 panels a number of imperfections were evident I have called the supplier to come and look at the issues 3 weeks ago seems like got my money end of problem not to sure the 20 year warranty is worth the paper it's written on so a 3 star rating only
