States on the Web site 20 days. We have had numerous promises and delivery dates, continually changed ( install delayed now for 4 or so weeks and still not received). Client is heavily pregnant and her house is at a standstill due to false promises. If told the truth at the beginning we would have advised different manufacturers that could fulfill the promises. House would of nearly been finished now but is at a standstill and a building site. We can't put the heating in, plaster etc. False promises continually, wouldn't use again. Will recommend other companies to future clients. Can't add photos or videos as have no windows/ doors due to Origin Global

Hi We had origin bifold doors fitted in 2011 A slave handle has snapped off and our window installation company have sent us a new set if handles to fit ourselves ! The design has changed so the handles do not fit Another window company have advised that as the handles do not fit we would need to have a new sash as too risky to mess with the door ! What are we supposed to do ? The screw holes are in the wrong place to fit new handles !

Hi there, The handle you have mentioned was discontinued a few years ago. And as such, we were not able to supply the old style handle to your installer. We have supplied the new handle under your manufacture warranty cover for your chosen installer to fit. We have also stated that your installer would not need to replace the whole sash and can retrofit the new handle onto your existing panel. Kind Regards The Origin team

Installer gave us very short lead times which turned out to be much longer. Front door that we purchased has dropped several times and has to be adjusted and the knocker/spy was paid for in May and still hasn't been fitted in December. Fitter is unreliable at the very least.

We had our Origin bifold doors fitted by an installer, Origin themselves came back and replaced them. They continue to keep dropping but Origin will not cover this with there 20 year warranty dispute them fitting them. They obviously don’t stand by there guarantee! The seals have shrunk and let draft in but they have just dismissed this! DO NOT BUY ANY ORIGIN PRODUCT as there guarantee does not cover anything and they don’t care about there customers

We bought Origen as we believed that the windows would be of excellent quality. The website states “provides an unparalleled customer services experience”. This is far from the truth in our experience to date and are reluctant to speak to us or rectify the problem. Unfortunately although they look very attractive from the outside, from the inside they are extremely disappointing. Shoddy is the only way I can describe it. The glazing bars don’t fit the windows and we have gaps at the top and bottom.

We are also very passionate about the quality of our products, which is why we can offer an up to a 20 year manufacture warranty. As the issues you have raised are due to the installation, you would need to speak to your installer/supplier in regards to the glazing bars not fitting, and the gaps at the top and bottom, as this is not a manufacturing issue. Bought Origin Windows with 20 years guarantee. Was told there is a tag in all 12 windows with a serial number which is then used to track my installation in case there are any issues in the future, for example, the installer closing shop. None of my windows has this tag and Origin won't confirm I have Origin windows. All branded companies are more than happy to do this and are grateful we purchase their products. Not Origin Global. Hopeless!

DO NOT BUY ORIGIN. Purchased Origin bifold doors approx 3 years ago and now for the 4th time doors have dropped leaving a gap creating noise and draft. Origin are taking no responsibility claiming it’s a installation problem not a manufacturer one. The experienced installer who I’m having to contact myself has adjusted them on 3 separate occasions and has said they will continue to drop due to the weight of each panel (a manufacturer issue). Interestingly reading reviews on Trustpilot I’m not the only person with this problem. Origin will provide a 20 year Welcome Pack guarantee that promises the world which they do not provide. An appalling company with dreadful customer care who still have not apologised for the inconvenience. The only thing they are good at is not taking responsibility. Regrettably we purchased this product and I strongly advise people not to make the same mistake.

I bought my bifold door through an Origin approved company. I am writing this to make people aware of a problem with the lock on bifold doors. I would like to draw your attention to an incident that happened at my property in July 2020. An attempt was made to gain entry into my house. Luckily the house alarm was activated but in the process the burglar had snapped the lock on my bifold doors and entered into my home. The lock should not protrude as it enables burglars to grip and snap the barrel. When I bought Origin bifold doors I did so after much research. The reason I chose this company was because of the reputation, style and security. I was therefore shocked that anti snap, anti drill and anti bump locks are not fitted as standard. My doors are only 2 years old. I feel that no matter how good the security on the actual door is, if the barrel is easy to break into it defeats the object of the whole system. I complained to Origin and was told that they no longer use 1 star barrels. If they have now changed the locks and they use to a more secure lock then they should have alerted people who had purchased their doors so that they can decide if they wanted to upgrade the barrels themselves. I was so certain for the last 2 years that with their reputation that the doors would have the most secure system on the market. I have now changed the barrel to the maximum security type recommended by the police. If I was given an option at the time of purchase I would have paid an additional amount of money for peace of mind.

Despite contacting origin to discuss how dangerous the bifold doors we have installed could be we’ve met with nothing but avoidance. If we open the access door and secure it back on to the magnet, we would presume that it would be safe. NO. Today, again, a gust of breeze has caused the door to come lose and slam into the door aperture. If a child had been co I got I. Or out or a hand had been on the frame, serious damage could have occurred When we purchased the doors we saw 2 magnets to secure the open door. When installed there was only one. Despite contacting Origin, and being assured they would provide our supplier with the necessary magnets this has not happened and now our supplier is missing in action and Origin refuse to talk to the customer. My husband is at his wits end with these windows. He’s having to finish installation and sealing himself as we cannot get the fitter to respond to requests to finish the work and Origin refuse to take responsibility for a product that does not live up to its image and advertising I cannot recommend this product at all. It’s not cheap yet I feel we have got a third rate product for a top level price Totally disgusted J Guess

Good Afternoon, Origin will be able to supply the additional magnet however you would have to request this via the original installer as they will need to install this for you. The Magnets on the bi-fold doors are not designed for wind resistance so we would not recommend relying on them to hold the door in high winds. Kind Regards Origin

Impossible to get Origin to cover contractual warranty. I installed a $10,000.00 folding door. The hinges broke for the second time. Origin acknowledges parts are under warranty but for the past 8 months it has been IMPOSSIBLE to have them fix the issue. DISHONEST, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT. So ridiculous, I have to get my attorney involved for breach of contract.

We had bifold doors installed and very disappointed as the top of doors do not fit to the seal leaving a gap to allow daylight visible through it and needless to say it also draughty numerous visits by installer nothing gets rectified having spoken to suppliers and yourselves we had no help, and we have a product not up to your sales literature claims it is acceptable that things go wrong sometimes but the lack of assistance in solving problem is very annoying

Do not believe that by using an Origin trade partner will guarantee you get good glazing. We have ended up with very poor glass units in our bi-folds (dirty marks, scratches etc). The installer has refused even to come back and see for himself. We thought that as Origin recommended them they would do something to remedy our complaints. How wrong we were. Take my advice and spend your money elsewhere !!!

Good Afternoon, We apologise for the bad experience that you have been having with your Glazing units and the Trade partner provided. As we are separate a company from our Trade partners, we try to provide as much information as we can, whether it’s in the advice centre https://origin-global.com/advice-centre/what-to-consider-when-looking-for-a-tradesperson or on our find a local installer/ showroom pages when searching, that we are separate companies so that home owners are able to do their own research and due diligence before purchasing. As the aluminium manufacturer, we provide our Trade partners with the frames and components needed and they themselves source the glazing units. If there are any issues with the glazing units then this would have to be discussed with your specific Trade partner in order to assess and rectify any issues you are encountering. Terrible customer service. I have had problems with leaking Origin bi-folds, they are blaming the installer, but I believe it is a design issue with the doors, and they completely refuse to answer my emails or phone calls relating to the issue I have raised.

Very poor customer service. We bought Origin bifold doors from an authorised installer. The installer provided an appalling service. They lied about timeframe and also Origin wasn't able to commit to its advertised delivery times. Installer made a poor job and Origin doesn't care. We contacted Origin to look for a solution and they refuse to engage with us, sending us back to the installer who refuses to accept responsibilities. The product is ok. A bit disappointed there are no better ways to keep the access door open. It moves a huge amount even in no wind.

Very disappointed with our doors. Chose Origin after seeing numerous ads/references in homebuilding mags/Grand designs etc. The windows have only 1 minor fault; there seems to be something non-stainless inside one of the frames that is rusting causing rust coloured water to drain out onto the white render and staining it. Other than that, they are very solid with an engineered feel to them, the opening mechanism is very slick and not a breath of draught gets through. The aluminium doors on the other hand have proven to be a complete waste of money. The front door leaks and the multi lever locks don't engage in 1 or possibly 2 of the lower slots even though the lock slots are adjusted to the max of its range. The rear door leaks pools of water onto the floor when the weather blows rain directly onto it and constantly needs the locks tightening to stop severe draughts. Our previous solid wooden door was more weather proof. The leak appears to be a design fault where water that gets through the seal bridges a plastic spacer (you can see the water trail) into the house instead of running out of the drain. I have approached Origin several times with this; after months they sent out a representative who blamed the fitters saying they were out of tolerance. The fitters came and set up lasers and showed they were adjusted within tolerance and stated it was a design fault. With each blaming each other, Origin have 'offered' to correct the fitment for £350. I thought I was buying a mid to premium product so obviously disappointed I've wasted thousands of £s.

Our products have all been designed and manufactured in the UK and tested against all required standards to ensure optimum operation, weatherproofing and performance. As an Origin engineer has been out to assess the installation and offered various options to get this rectified, I will leave it with you as to whether you accept this. I had a set of bi-folds fitted a few years ago. They have had a minor leak ever since they were fitted, leading to a damp carpet. Now we have fitted wooden flooring it is a major issue as the floor is warping. I have had to look into the doors in detail and there seems to be a design flaw causing the problem. I have been unable to get a straight answer from them. Lots of broad emails not accepting responsibility and no one answering my direct questions. Still on going, probably have to be resolved in small claims court.

I am aware that you’ve been dealing with people internally and I have since spoken to the department that you have been in contact with who have informed me that the problems you’re having are down to the installation rather than manufacturing. At Origin, we manufacture and guarantee the frames of your product and then and your local installer/ partner guarantees the installation. All Origin partners work as independent suppliers and whist we do work closely with them, the partner is responsible for the surveying, ordering of products, installing and aftercare, so the works required should be covered and undertaken done by them. As the contracted work is between the homeowner and the installer, Origin is not responsible for any remedial work required due to installation issues, however, I am aware that we have offered various options to try and get this rectified which haven’t been taken up. Have new Origin doors installed by Window Rama the plastic wheels are crumbling door installation was shoddy. The gaskets are all falling off disappointed in installer and product.
