4m bi folds and side door installed by one of origins approved companies. Around 50 scratches inside and out. The protective film wasn't taken off till they were installed. They were replaced a couple of months later. Replacements were also not up to standard and around 20 scratches across the frames. Have refused to pay anything further and awaiting to find out of we are getting replacement again or whether they will be returned and we will get refund of deposit. Not paying premiun price for a sub standard product. If they were 2nd hand at a 2nd hand price you would understand. Only went with origin as they are meant to be leading brand but even the local approved company has said they have had nothing but trouble over the last year and workmanship has gone downhill. Whether it's the truth I don't know but they have had problems pausing woth origin for a revolution. Origin when I spoke to them denied they would leave the factory scratched but they would day that. They also recommended touching them up with a touch up pen!!! This was quite laughable at having spent 10k!!! Even the local company said he wouldn't touch then up as it will stand out. I'm sure this will generate a defensive reply back from origin but from my ongoing experience which is still ongoing 6 months later isn't a good one regardless of what they say and for sure i wouldnt recommend them and regret not going through a different company.

Good Morning. We are sorry to hear that you have found scratches on your bifolds. We find this a little concering as we quaility check all products in more than one of our manufacturing stages, with a thorough final inspection before despatch. Quality is one of the most important factors to our manufacturing and as long as your chosen intaller continues to raise these issues, we can work alongside with them to find out where the scracthes are coming from. Kind Regards The Origin Team

DO NOT BUY ORIGIN. Purchased Origin bifold doors approx 3 years ago and now for the 4th time doors have dropped leaving a gap creating noise and draft. Origin are taking no responsibility claiming it’s a installation problem not a manufacturer one. The experienced installer who I’m having to contact myself has adjusted them on 3 separate occasions and has said they will continue to drop due to the weight of each panel (a manufacturer issue). Interestingly reading reviews on Trustpilot I’m not the only person with this problem. Origin will provide a 20 year Welcome Pack guarantee that promises the world which they do not provide. An appalling company with dreadful customer care who still have not apologised for the inconvenience. The only thing they are good at is not taking responsibility. Regrettably we purchased this product and I strongly advise people not to make the same mistake.

We had bifold doors installed and very disappointed as the top of doors do not fit to the seal leaving a gap to allow daylight visible through it and needless to say it also draughty numerous visits by installer nothing gets rectified having spoken to suppliers and yourselves we had no help, and we have a product not up to your sales literature claims it is acceptable that things go wrong sometimes but the lack of assistance in solving problem is very annoying

Good Morning Good Morning, We are sorry to hear that you have experienced some issues with the install of your Origin products. All Origin partners work as independent suppliers and whist we do work closely with them, the partner is responsible for the surveying, ordering of products, installing and aftercare. This is supported by Origin’s manufactured product warranty which will rectify any manufacturing failure of the physical product, but does not include any remedial work due to installation issues. If we can help any further, please do contact us on 01494 686868. Kind Regards. Origin

Very poor customer service. We bought Origin bifold doors from an authorised installer. The installer provided an appalling service. They lied about timeframe and also Origin wasn't able to commit to its advertised delivery times. Installer made a poor job and Origin doesn't care. We contacted Origin to look for a solution and they refuse to engage with us, sending us back to the installer who refuses to accept responsibilities. The product is ok. A bit disappointed there are no better ways to keep the access door open. It moves a huge amount even in no wind.

The product is good (aluminium bifold door and windows), however, there are other problems. Firstly, Origin recommend installers who are not associated with a relevant trade organisation, so when we had problems there was no trade body to turn too to gain a unbiased resolution. This is not good when you're paying 10's of thousands of pounds for their product - Origin drop you like a hot coal and do NOT want to get involved. Secondly, having now been on the fourth remake of the same Origin door, Origin refused to engage with me as to why they were performing so poorly and again just kept passing me back to the installer, who in turn tells me it's Origins fault, but with no explanation. Very poor form. With this in mind, I would not use Origin again or recommend them in the Kent area.

Dear Mr Graveson, Please accept our apologies for the issues that you are experiencing with your purchase. At Origin, we strive to produce a high level of service to all our customers and this is not the usual performance you should expect to receive. We do work through a network of partners who we only display on our website after they have met a high set of criteria. As referenced on their website, the partner you have chosen to work with are fully registered members of CERTASS, which is one of the highest ranking trade associations in the industry and are there to provide help and guidance as needed. Unfortunately, like many businesses at the moment, we and our partners are working within highly difficult circumstances and with reduced capacity, which on occasion, has resulted in a higher margin of error and delays. Regardless, please be assured we take all issues highlighted to us seriously and your information has been escalated to our Head of Sales Operations and Customer Experience Director for their review. Kind Regards Origin

Asked and were quoted by Origin Windows for two casement windows and two bay windows the latter consisting of 5 panels. Agreed the quote and then 4 weeks before the installation date Origin informed the suppliers (J C Glass) that they did not supply the jacks that are a FENSA requirement for bay window installation and therefore our supplier could not accept those windows. I phoned to check this was correct and then JC Glass wrote and phoned to ensure that this was true - Origin confirmed that this was the case. Thus they were supplying a product that would not meet industry requirements. This has delayed the project by two months and is indicative of a firm that is either ignorant of or reckless in terms of industry requirements and the impact of their carelessness upon customers.

Good Afternoon Mr Hudson, We are sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced so far. Origin takes the industry regulations very seriously with stringent testing and compliance. We would never knowingly supply a product that was not fit for purpose. However we would be happy to investigate this further for you. You can email our Aftersales team at solutions@origin-global.com who will look into this for you. Kind Regards Origin

Following the bankruptcy of one of their distributors, I was facing huge financial loss on our project as were many unfortunate customers of the demised firm. The directors at Origin went above and beyond. Where they could, they honoured all of the contracts of the old company saving a large number of people thousands of pounds that we were unlikely to get back. For this unprecedented action I cannot recommend them highly enough. It further turned out that our disaster was turning into an advantage as Origin sent down their fitters to survey and fit our doors. We had a complex design and set-up, and their fitters came up with an innovative and excellent solution the previous firm had not identified. The fitting team were highly experienced, professional and fast. The office team were equally professional and courteous; especially given a large number of worried 3rd party customers they were unexpectedly managing at that time. I guess, most importantly, is the quality of the product. We have a high-end design extension, and I believe anything other than Origin would not have achieved the look we were after. The mechanics, the design and the quality, is evident throughout, and you will not be disappointed.

I purchased an aluminium bi fold door system to replace an existing upvc sliding patio door. It is a quality product and was expertly fitted by Almark of Stockton and the colour option fits nicely with the style and colour of the existing brown upvc windows. However I have experienced condensation on the lower sill when the outside temperature drops below 3 to 4 degrees C and "I am assuming" the Thermal Break struggles to bridge the differential between inside and outside temperatures. This is the only negative aspect of what is an excellent product and I am looking forward to reaping the benefits in the summer months. .

Good Morning Kathleen, Thank you for your kind feedback. If the condensation continues, contact Almark, who installed the doors for you and request they come out to assess the doors. If they find the condensation is caused by the manufacture of any components manufactured by ourselves, they will make us aware and this will be rectified under the terms & conditions of your manufacturers' warranty. If you have any further questions regarding this, or any future project, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01925 907907 Kind regards,

I have 2 sets of bifold doors from origin, the larger set has been damaged because whilst open and stacked the main door come off the magnet and hit the frame causing damage to the door and frame. Origin tried to say the magnet is not meant to hold the door at first and attempted to fob me off. After some persistence they sent an engineer out, he checked it and stated the doors shouldn’t be leaning as they were and the reason for the damage is the weight due to the lean has assisted the door coming off the magnet and as the doors aren’t level as they should be the door has hit the frame instead of closing into the opening as a door should. Thank god my daughter wasn’t near the doors at the time as it would have caused serious injury or fatality. They then sent the report from the visit to Haus Glass in Warrington who are the installer trying to pass the blame as an installation issue and they are now saying it’s the magnet that is at fault. This will soon be 3 months on and I am still arguing with both companies about a now dangerous and damaged product due to no fault of my own. It appears they are more than happy to help when purchasing but have zero interest in their customers or their safety once they are installed. Avoid these companies at all costs you or your family’s life could well depend on it... What should be a simple process to fix under warranty that they pride themselves on is likely to now become a legal matter. It’s a very poorly run company if you don’t consider your customers safety over money and provide a warranty that is worth nothing.

We put Origin Bi-fold doors in on our new extension and were sold on the low threshold, nice design and ease of use which in reality did not quite deliver. We didn't get a low threshold and have a 5cm lip on the doors which was the first disappointment but one we could live with, especially with the fine appearance, safety features and ease of use. Since coming back in to the cold and windy weather of winter this has highlighted problems. The doors have dropped in the frame, which does happen I believe and we can now see daylight through the frame again so the installers will need to come back for a third time. Our architect specified triple glazed doors for the extra thermal protection but this is quite frankly a waste of time. The biggest issue we have is the long vent which leaks cold air like a sieve would leak water. On windy days especially, a significant draught comes through the vent. The installer is not interested as the vent is as supplied and not incorrectly fitted or damaged. Unlike other, cheaper, vents on our double glazing units the origin vent is anything but trickle. On our other windows in the house with their £5 plastic vents if we choose to close them they are designed in such a way that the wind pressure actually forces them tighter shut. The stronger the wind the tighter shut the vent, simple. With the Origin vent on their bi-fold doors I believe that there is a fundamental design flaw as the stronger the wind the greater the draught in the house. This completely negates the triple glazing. Origin say that the vent is not weather rated but this is a feeble excuse. They were keen to tell me their vent was 10 times the cost of my cheaper vents and the doors were double the cost of what our builder wanted to put in. The installer told me that some people in windier areas tape up their vents. Origin do not seem interested and will not agree there is a design flaw. The design of the vent is such that when the wind blows it easily exploits the gaps. The outside facing part of the vent acts as a funnel and is larger than the inside vent. This in principle would cause a pressure difference I believe. On our cheaper units the vents shut against the airflow and are sprung in the direction of air flow. On the Origin vent firstly it is not sprung and secondly it opens with the direction of airflow, out to in. At present this problem has not been resolved and Origin customer services have stopped replying to me. Poor service from a very promising beginning.

""The door snapped in the lock and now it cannot be closed. Origin on paper cover locking mechanism as part of 20 year guarantee but when things go bad they simply renege to honor their commitment. They want to charge now. Origin cut corners on small things that lead to great damage in the long run. Please do not order to avoid painful experience later.

We had bifold doors fitted 6 years ago by Ekco doors in Edinburgh who were introduced to us by Origin. All was well at first but very quickly we had condensation develop on the inside of the threshold and issues with the foam gaskets shrinking. This was reported to the fitters who replaced the gaskets and blamed that on the condensation. Since then I've had the gaskets changed annually as they keep shrinking and I've had numerous excuses for the condensation. They refitted the doors in February but it's made no difference, in fact if anything it's worse. Now the installer has refused to come back unless I pay £250 and have blanked every effort I have made to get a copy of the fitting warranty. I have foam gaskets that were supplied under warranty but the installer refuses to fit them unless I pay £250 which won't be happening. Origin for their part only want to pass the blame to the installer and take absolutely no responsibility for anything apart from manufacturing defects despite the fact they introduce you to the installer. I sent them a detailed email listing the problems I'm experiencing but it's been ignored. Do yourself a big favour and go elsewhere. Find a company that actually takes responsibility for their installers instead of ignoring things.

Dear Mr Little, We have replied to your feedback on alternative websites as well but just incase you have not seen them we have also placed it here. Origin is sorry to hear that you are experiencing on-going issues with the Q-lon for your bi-fold door. We are in receipt of your mail, where you kindly included a response from the manufacture of the Q-lon and they offered you a potential cause being installation or overstretching. As you are aware Origin do not provide installation services, we work through a network of independent trade partners who provide their own warranty for install work and glass supply. It is also noted in your mail that Origin have attend your property twice which demonstrates that we do take ownership of issues when our support is required. With regards to the condensation, this can be caused by several reasons including air circulation, building fabric and use of the room. As Origin are not involved in the project directly it would be inappropriate for us to comment on the reason or cause. Origin prides itself in working closely with our trade partners to provide support and guidance as and when requested by them and we will continue to do so in your situation should the partner require it. As a goodwill gesture, we are more than happy to send replacement Q-lon directly to you, even though we believe the product itself is not at fault, and we are happy to work with any builder or installer you wish to use for remedial works which will not impact your warranty with Origin. Kind Regards The Origin Team

Dear Homeowner, We are sorry to hear you are having issues with your Origin purchase, it is always disappointing to hear when things don’t go as planned. We are a little surprised by your review though as we are the  manufacture of the frames only, and we do not provide glass as part of the project. This is sourced and supplied separately by your installer. I am sure you will understand that unfortunately we are not able to help or comment on products not supplied by Origin. We do hope you find a suitable resolution with your installer. Kind Regards The Origin Team

Origin supplied our bifolds without the magnet fitting. It has taken two days short of four weeks to get it supplied and fitted. Origin also supplied the insulation with a tear in it. Again, nearly a month to get it changed. Nobody to speak to when I phoned except a product designer who said he was the only person in the building. Great service I don’t think. Our installer’s surveyor wrongly measured the opening so the bifolds didn’t fit properly. No apology from them. I will never EVER recommend Origin or County Windows Heathfield. Appalling customer care from both.

Beautiful door, but with two major design faults. Double bifold door, lock is in the middle of the door, I unfortunately left the key in first time I opened them, snapped the key off and damaged the door. Not told by installer, but it is the first thing in the booklet supplied by Origin, so they obviously know its a problem, this should be pointed out by installer and labels should be on the door and with the keys. Origin not interested when contacted, blame the installer, need to take responsibility for something they obviously know is a problem. Secondly, no lock or handle on the outside, this door is our access to the back of the house and garage, can't close it when you pop out, if it's raining or cold , can't close the door to stop it . If you push it to shut, you are locked out, very stupid to have what is a one way door only, not fit for purpose, but Origin don't care, just take the money, no customer service, it's the installer's fault. Take responsibility for your own mistakes Origin, don't pass the buck.

Good Morning Paul, We have been discussing this via email. And we did supply a reply in regards to the configuration that you have chosen to have installed. This would of been a discussion between yourself and your chosen installer/supplier. Origin work through an independent network of partners who are not affiliated to us, and whilst we do work closely with them to ensure they meet with our standards we cannot be held responsible for the work carried out and any discussions on the project requirements between yourselves. You have a even set which slide the same way, and from your description, you opted to have an additional key locking on the slave locks. This is something that must be requested additionally as its not supplied automatically. This is due to the fact its not something that is sometimes necessary to add. We are unable to comment on the training supplied by your installer for the operation of your doors, but as you have stated, it is in our booklet and should be avoided. Kind Regards The Origin Team

Noticed rain water ingress at corner of frame after fitting by respected company. Fitting company were very good and tried for 4 months to diagnose fault. Eventually after fitter phoned Origin for advice told to remove section of frame and found roughly cut drainage hole in lower frame (see pic) blocked with mastic. This area is not normally exposed during fitting so could not be seen and mastic blockage was done by Origin. Replacement lower frame section fitted and I am currently monitoring for leaks. The point is - if I had put my new wood flooring down immediately after door frame was fitted I would probably never have noticed the water until eventual serious damage to wood subfloor. How many people have water ingress caused like this which is hidden ? I suspect the “good lead in times” which Origin boast about are at the expense of quality control. My advice - avoid Origin products.

Good Morning We are sorry to hear that you have experienced issues with your doors. We are confused as to why the drainage hole is blocked with mastic, as Origin prep the holes in production and no sealant is applied at this stage. The application of sealant is during the installation process when the outer frame is assembled on site by your installer. If your installer wishes to discuss this further, they can contact their aftersales team. Kind Regards The Origin Team

Worse warranty ever!!! They say 20 year guarantee on bifold doors and all their manufactured parts. But 6 years down the line they charging me for replacing gaskets and carriage assembly. They void the guarantee because the guide rails have dust but the real reason why they damaged is the wheels on the guides are made from nylon and wear easily. Stay away it will cost a fortune to repair. They’ve already charged me £1400 to replace 3 glass panels.

Good Morning, We are sorry to hear that you have experienced issues with your Bifold doors. The guarantee on the products we supply is for up to 20 years, depending on location which covers any manufacturing or product faults. Unfortunately based on these pictures we can see that although the items pictured have become damaged over time, this is not something that occurs due to the components themselves failing. These components have become damaged or worn due to issues with the operation of these doors. From experience we can see that as well as replacing these components, multiple adjustments to the door leaves, and potentially the outer frame, will be required to correct these operational issues. Therefore, unfortunately, these are not items or works that can be covered under our manufacturing guarantee. We would recommend contacting your original installer to raise these issues and Origin can then provide them with any support/advice required to resolve the problems. Origin also do not supply the glass element to the bifold doors, so the cost and replacement is something your trade partner is responsible for as this is sourced in and supplied separately by them. Kind Regards The Origin Team
