I have been invited to write a review BEFORE my purchase has been delivered! I am therefore assuming that my delivery has gone AWOL or National Lamps and Components have used a courier service to deliver my purchase to me here in the Western isles in which case it could indeed be lost or turn up in about 3 weeks time! The only reliable service to the islands is Royal Mail. there is no "next day, 3 day or priority delivery" here in the islands. It takes the time it takes, just a whole lot longer when couriers are involved.

I understand that the product I ordered was out of stock, and the refund was prompt. However I feel an alternative product for the same task could have been recomended to me.

Very slow to deliver, due to not being aware of out of stock item(s) when placing the order instead of 2 - 3 days it took over a week

Bought five architectural bulbs, one didn't work, one went bang and blew out its connector (a bit dangerous!) and three are ok. But this is not the suppliers fault - these things happen, I suppose

Ordered 24 Dec, cash taken from credit card 29 Dec, informed out of stock 4 Jan, arrived 14 Jan I don't mind item was out of stock, it happens - but I would expect a company with an internet sales offer to be able to tell me it would be out of stock before I order. I can then choose to wait or try somewhere else. I also don't expect to be billed during the period when the product is out of stock. Bill before dispatch is OK, but not while out of stock. When it arrived, no complaints on price or quality - but could do better on order handling, even allowing for the public holidays.

Ordered Dec 16. Confirmation said out of stock (on such a common item?). Said delivery 5-7 days. Nothing so far on 22 Dec. Hmmm.

Having placed my order on 1st Dec 2015, I received an E Mail on 2nd Dec stating that the item was out of stock and would take 5-7 days + standard delivery 2-3 days. I checked the item on your web site and it still states that the item is in stock. I am still waiting in anticipation! very difficult to rate you when I have not received the item.

!st order was delivered with a tiny delay, 2nd order there were stock issues, and I was told the whole order would be delayed until the unavailable units were back in stock - but I wasnt given the option of part shipment, which I wanted. A shame, because I like you guys!

Ordered Friday night and it arrived the following Thursday morning,had one email to say order received and being processed and was supposed to get another saying order dispatched but didn't' get. Received a catalogue with order which could be helpfull in the future if we use firm again

I ordered a photocell switch which the website said was in Stock. I got an email confirming my order but later got a further one saying it was out of stock. I needed it ASAP so bad to cancel my order.

Ordered 10 'Crompton' strip lights. The bulbs came quickly, well packed, but they were not Crompton, they were Bells. I have had these before and they weren't any good, so hope these last longer. Disappointed the goods weren't as advertised, would have preferred it if they stated no brand, then I could have maybe made a different decision.

Faux pas! Begging email requesting a review arrived before consignment, whose status from Fedex is "Goods Not Received At Del Depo"! Silly PR mistake. Order only made 4 days ago and it is a Bank Holiday weekend, so not actually late yet, but not looking good.

You advised that the two items I had ordered are out of stock but gave me only a vague indication of when they would be back in stock and you would deliver. You should have included a clear option to cancel my order.

When an item is out of stock we email to say 5-7days delivery, then when we get a confirmed date we email with a delivery date.
