Buyers aware, this car insurance policy has limitations and is not a like for like policy with other insurance companies. I recently discovered my policy is limited to 2000 miles. I paid £395 in total(£250 insurance premium + £145 admin fee) for my policy and I can only drive 2000 miles, after 2000 miles the policy terminates unless you buy top up miles. I have been advised that for every 1000 mile top up I need to pay £450. I normally do 5000 miles per year, therefore this policy for the year will end up costing me £1750 in total based on doing my usual 5000 miles. I normally pay £400 per year with other insurance companies with no mileage limitation. This policy is an absolute scam. When speaking with 'mypolicy' they justify these £400 per 1000 miles top up based on my driving style. I have only had the policy for 42 days, despite the initial insurance premium costing £250 for a 2000 mile allowance, to top up another 1000 miles is £450. When questioning them on my driving style, they said my driving style was very good at 8/9 out of 10. So how do they justify the cost of £450 per 1000 miles top up? Then the advisor mentioned it might be based on the locations I am driving to, they have an answer for everything. I would avoid this company, I have 13 years no claims and normally pay £400 per year with no limitations. This company want to charge me circa £1750 for 5000 miles. It is an absolute scam and it is geared to extracting as much cash as possible form the customer, it is highly unethical and bad practice. I have also been told to cancel my policy today I would only receive about £150, despite me paying £395 and only doing about 300 miles in total in 42 days of service. That equates to receiving a 38% refund, while this company keep 62% of my money for very little service. I recommend you report them to the FCA, I will be.

Awful company, threats about cancelling your policy. I only just opened my policy with them, not even been a week. For anyone who doesn’t know you must state all previous accidents within the last 5 years when opening a new policy, fault and non fault, which I of course did. Spoke to a member of their team this morning to confirm my policy details including these accidents and confirmed that my last accident which was jan 2022 was a non fault claim, meaning third party accepted liability and I was found at a non fault. A few hours later I have received a cancellation email stating my insurance will be cancelled as I did not disclose fault claim from 2022 and they would not be able to cover this??? I do not need them to cover this as it is already sorted under my previous insurance and something I already disclosed to them as a non fault. So LONG STORY SHORT, do not waste your time using this company just because it’s the cheaper option as they seem to want to threaten you without any reason at all really, I’ve taken this up with them as I have proof of this accident being a non fault and will most definitely be putting a complaint through, but if this is what I’m getting after 5 days of my policy beginning with them, i can say I am most definitely regretting not spending the extra money to get a better insurance. Please take my advice and save yourself the headache. I have read many reviews on this company where other people have stated they constantly threaten you with cancellation and take advantage of young drivers. I wish I had listened. I am not a young driver and have been driving for 6 years and I can assure you I will be posting every bad experience I have with this company if it will possible help the next person.

My Policy are just con artists and thieves,‐ taking advantage of young, inexperienced drivers. My newly passed 17 year old son took out a yearly policy with My Policy, using his hard earned savings. He stated an annual mileage of 6000 and was advised that if he went over this, he would have thee option to purchase extra miles. Less than a month in, he had an email sent at 5pm Christmas eve, threatening to cancel his policy as he was estimated to go over his anual mileage. This caused much stress and anxiety over Christmas as there was no one available to speak to until 29th December. When he did manage to speak to someone they demanded over £500 for the extra miles he was predicted to drive, despite having already paid upfront for 6000 miles. Obviously in the first month or so after passing he was excited to be behind the wheel and driving more. I could understand it if he was nearly up to the 6000 he had paid for, but this was not the case. We decided not to give another penny to these con artists and cancelled the policy ourselves. In doing this he lost almost £500. A small amount of this was made up of the months insurance that he had used, which of course we do not dispute, but the vast amount was extortionate cancellation charges, nearly £400 infact! We have now added him and his car onto my insurance policy with a reputable company as part of a multicar plan. The price for this was hardly more than he had originally paid to My policy and no black box required.

They’re fraud, they took over £500 pounds from me for £365 for deposit and £140 because I got my full driving licence in August 2021, this insurance expected me to drive 2500 miles for a year, and because of my lack of understanding and no knowledge on how insurance works I fell into their trap, they told me to pay another £600 on Xmas eve that I have used 900 miles in one month and I’ll used more in the couple of months. I told them to cancel it on the 22nd of December, and begin to search for new insurance for me and my family to enjoy our Xmas. This insurance only refund me with £50 saying because I don’t used roadways rescue, mind you I still paid my insurance on the 5th of December which is £187. They messed up my Xmas and as a single mum of three, I could not buy anything for my kids, no gifts, nothing. My policy insurance is a Big Scam and Fraud.

Please read the terms and conditions properly. I was excited to drive my first car and skim read the terms and conditions like an idiot. On the front page, 'No curfew' it says. And under it, it says 'this may affect your driving score'. Now I didn't cross examine this with the terms and conditions and assumed it meant my score would just be a little low, because what they don't tell you on the front page is that if you drive at night your driver score will go to -6 out of 10! and if more than 3 times in a month and you will have penalties and possible cancellation of policy. Being penalised for driving at night is a 'curfew' but they can get away with it on a technicality based on semantics. You can go out at night (but do it more than 3 or more times and you're screwed!). No matter how safely I drive, at the safest possible time on quiet roads, my 'usage' score never goes above 5/10. It is designed to screw you over and they know it. I tested this by driving down the road to the shop at 11:30am and then came straight back. No traffic, perfect speed and braking and no issues whatsoever. The least risky time of the day, on the quietest road just half a mile down the road and what usage rating did they give me? 5/10. And there is zero information on how they came to that score specifically because they know it's poppycock. I should have paid the extra grand for insurance without telematics. It's a scam.

I give one star reluctantly. My grandson used this company and every week for a month was asked for more money. Now I cannot even help him as they want another £720 on top of @£3000 + already being paid on monthly direct debit. He has to cancel and sell his pride and joy, his first car. Had already left smart wheels for same reason. Scum, all of them.

Absolute scammers, they have cost me well over two grand for my daughters first year of driving and cancelled it 20 days before her first year was up saying she had missed a direct debit which I had not missed a penny. They charge a fortune for extra miles this was not explained previously. Seriously, save yourself the headache.

Absolutely having a nightmare with these. Totally don't mention insurance is mileage based, this has cost me £2000 so far and they have just cancelled my daughters insurance 20 days before she had completed a year no claims saying she missed a payment. I pay the insurance for her and no payments have been missed. Disorganised and absolutely rude staff, never dealt with an insurance company like this in all my years of driving. They have just left my daughter with no insurance over Christmas and new year for no good reason. Seriously, be warned, do not go here for insurance.
