“I have known Chris Elombo (Chris Moninga) owner of Moningas Lab for almost two decades. At first, he seemed like a good trainer, and a honest and kind person. When my father desperately needed early post-stroke physical rehabilitation and we had trouble to find someone on a short notice, Chris kindly offered his help. Chris told us that he was a certified Physiotherapist and that he had a lot of experience rehabilitating and training (early) post-stroke patients in the Middle-East. According to Chris, some of his very heavy post-stroke patients recovered extremely well with his training program, even though doctors told them that they would never fully recover. It all sounded very promising, so I decided to go ahead and asked Chris to work with my father.
Unfortunately, he did not tell us the truth, did not keep his promises and still owes us money. I found out later that it is not true that he has a certificate in Physiotherapy as he has no University education nor any other form of Physiotherapy certification. Furthermore, Chris broke his promises, and did not fulfil almost any sessions with my father! Additionally, we realised that some of the exercises he performed during the few sessions with my father were not appropriate and even dangerous for him. I paid him a very decent amount of money upfront (plus I covered his travel expenses, food, and he stayed for free in my father’s house). Initially, I had no reason to distrust him when he asked the whole amount upfront. When it became clear that he would not keep his promises anymore, I asked Chris to give me the money back. He told me several times that he would give it back, however, later on he simply stopped communicating and even blocked me everywhere. I have tried to get the money back without success for over a year.
It is a difficult situation for me as I am the only person taking care of my father and as he was left severely disabled it costs a fortune every month. Furthermore, recently I calculated that the money I gave Chris Elombo, would allow my father to get 6 weeks of excellent and intensive physiotherapy (including staying there) at an outstanding private physical rehabilitation hospital in my country! Chris had promised me minimally 4 weeks intensive care (post-stroke rehabilitation and also personal training later on). Chris knows our difficult situation, but still he refuses to give me the money back!
Personally, I trained a few times with Chris, and even though I think he is a creative trainer, I found out that he has no certification (e.g. in personal training or fitness) and some of the things he told me did not sound right. I remember that after one training I had pain for several weeks in my right foot.
Please be careful with this trainer. He seems very honest and kind, and he is extremely charismatic. However, I was very shocked to see another face of Chris Elombo when I tried to get my money father's money back.”
