Anonymous Thank you for your feedback. The good news is, you do not have to leave any personal information at all to run a quote, you can leave it blank !!! Although, we do ask for personal details, the reason being is, that this then enables us to transfer any information that you have already inputted once, to your chosen supplier if you then wish to proceed to purchase. We have received feedback from customers, that they found it frustrating having to re type it again, once on the insurers website. Also, with your authority, this helps us to assist you as well if you have any questions or queries on a quote that you have run (we can then retrieve it) and also allows us to request a review from you in regards to your Car Hire Excess experience when using our Site and your chosen Excess Insurer. Was trying to buy car insurance whilst abroad. I had to trawl through several options before finally finding a company that allowed me to purchase whilst not physically in the UK. More filters are needed on Money Maximiser to speed things up

Hi Sharon, We have dropped you a line directly to find out who you think we miss out on. We have the vast majority of UK insurers on the site and are very willing to incorporate anyone as long as they are full authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, have high service levels and offer a great product. We are pretty certain that there is no-one missing that would feature towards the top of our results - there are a few companies who are quite expensive and prefer not to be compared, but they are very much in the minority. While the information provided on-line about the different offering was useful - However, when I ticked the option to have the results emailed to me, it seemed to work OK and I did receive an email - but the link provided in that email did not work....and I am a very experienced IT user so definitely a technical rather than user issue.

Good range of cheap policies. Would have liked to filter out those that require you to be in the UK at the time if purchase, instead I had to wade through loads of quotes to find one.

Thanks for your comments. We totally agree and this new feature will be added within days. It is since we redesigned our service that a few insurers decided to add this restriction and therefor until recently it was not required. However we have already been working on adding this feature, have done the groundwork and our technical team are planning to add a new filter in the coming days. The service from MoneyMaximiser was ok, there are lots of options and it's easy enough to use. What I find a questionable is the integrity of the insurance providers on the service. I bought excess insurance from one partner on the site and they didn't send me any documentation or answer my emails about my purchase

Thank you for your review, We do represent the majority of the car hire insurance market, so find the prices featured on our site tend to be very competitive, for example you can purchase a European daily policy for less than £2 a day. If however you are referring to car hire itself, then we are aware that Airlines offer great packages at certain times throughout the year, and glad to hear you benefited from this. Simple search finder but could do with more filters - wanted to add 2 drivers to car hire excess cover had to look into details of each company which was a real chore!

All policies include cover for additional drivers, with the amount (whether 3, 4, 5 or unlimited) is the 4th point down under details on our site - In any case, it is always important you read insurance information/documents prior or once purchased, so you ensure it meets your requirements. If however you were looking for a policy that allows more than one driver to hire independently of each other, we have the option to filter these policies out on the results page, which would therefore show 'family' or 'dual lead driver' policies, and hopefully you were able to find this if needed. Hence why it is a great idea to have a car hire excess insurance policy! Whether right or wrong, if a car hire company charge you an excess for damage to the vehicle, these policies will work perfectly in reimbursing you for that, following the correct claims procedure. The Question, 'Did you hire the vehicle in your country?' is unclear. If you hire via the internet in the UK for a car in another country, should you answer Yes or No? Yes i hired it in the UK OR No I hired it in another country but from the UK.

Kevin, Thank you for your feedback, Following your communication earlier this week, we reviewed the information provided around the question 'Will you hire in your country of residence?' and have acted upon this, adding further information and hopefully making it clearer for our customers when running a quote. To confirm, it refers to whether you will be driving the vehicle you are hiring in the country where you reside, not whether or not you have actually arranged the hire in your country of residence. I would find the comparisons more useful if they contained more pertinent information. It was only after purchasing the insurance and reading the polcy schedule from carhireexcess.com that I was made aware that all costs would be paid upfront by me and that I would then have to reclaim these. This was not my preference.
