Really sorry that I didn’t look at this site before I sent off my iPad to mazuma. My experience so far is much the same as other reviews. My iPad was in good condition and only being replaced because I had been given a new one. It always had a cover which fully protected the screen and it was only used in house Again, as others, initially offered over £100 which was reduced to £35 because of marks on the screen. I have refused this and await its return The advice it’s to check on the reviews on this site before considering this company.

Mazuma will always make up a reason why they will not pay the price they agreed. Perfect condition samsung S9 offered £75 they checked it and said it needed new battery and screen, UNTRUE, reduced offer to £30. Complain to their CEO

Quoted £280 for iPhone 11, reduced to £240 because there were scratches on the casing. My partner accepted the offer. However, the phone was in EXCELLENT condition and most definitely did not have any scratches, light or otherwise, in any areas. I was informed by customer services that having a case on the phone can cause light scratches due to dirt etc getting inside the case….they couldn’t provide any evidence of these scratches (obviously) because my partner had already accepted the offer. I honestly don’t feel like I would trust Mazuma again.

Avoid, they give you what you think is a good price then make up faults with the phone to offer a lower price. They also don’t pay the same day.

Avoid complete scammers. Got offered £130 which they revised to £45 due to 'screen burn'. I refused the offer and they then revised it £60 saying we now have an in house team capable of doing repairs (where was this team when you offered £45?). Had the device checked independently and they confirmed it doesn't have screen burn. Mazuma trying it on disgusting! Used a few times previously never again.

Thank you for your review, We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with our service! Unfortunately, as we operate within a strict industry our technicians have to be thorough with their checks. If the devices are found to have damage that needs repairing before resale the best offer would have to be revisited. Is there anything else we can do to help? Best Wishes, Mazuma

Sent two Samsung s10s to them, both phones always from new had screen protectors and were contained in official Samsung LED flip covers. They now want to reduce the value because they say both phones have minor scratches. Rubbish.

If you like getting robbed, then Mazuma is for you! This company have some crafty terms & conditions hidden. After their site recommending I include the charger for my device, I adhered to just that and additionally included the original packaging and documentation. All of said items were in pristine condition as a gesture of goodwill, however upon Mazuma receiving my goods they revised their offering from £120 to £20 due to some minor screen burn-in on the side of the screen (only visible with a white background on full brightness). I refused this offering and they returned the goods, only to find the original packaging, charger, warranty card & documentation was not included - these extras alone equated to £61. Contacting Customer Services, I was immediately in conversation with manager Grace Anderson who showed nothing but pure incompetence and a lack of interest. After attempting to come to an agreement for a week, Mazuma would not yield or offer any form of compensation. The items ‘lost’ were supposedly thrown away due to the lack of space in their warehouse. I am still perplexed as to why they wouldn’t hold onto these items until a decision on the offering had been made, since per their terms and conditions there is no contract formed until the offer has been accepted. Now I have a handset but nothing else, leaving me out of pocket and troubled to resell. Their initial attractive offering is not worth the paper it’s written on - avoid Mazuma Mobile at all costs. I bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max from Mazuma through backmarket.co.uk after six weeks it stopped working I sent it in with secure packaging and they said we have three days to get back to you with either a refund or exchange. I contacted them many times and they kept stalling and I even had to get the company moderator involved. Then after 14 days they sent a picture showing my phone with a broken screen of which I sent it in unbroken with secure break proof packaging and a note saying it’s outside of the warranty because it’s been bent or dropped when I clearly sent it without any damage whatsoever except for the phone not working because it seized on its own. I find this completely unacceptable and have escalated this to the backmarket management team. But don’t buy from these people they will disappoint you. So far looks like £700 down the drain

Don't trust this company , I sent them an iPhone 12 in perfect condition , its been in an Otter Box Defender case and screen protector from the day I bought it, I took 10 photos of the phone which shows it in perfect condition the day I sent it , 3 of the photos are of it in the DPD box when they collected it . They emailed me this morning to saying "Apple iPhone 12 256GB Unlocked Your device has a significant scratch/scratches on the screen that cannot be removed by polishing, therefore the screen will need to be replaced." This is a complete lie , don't trust this company at all .

Total con. Offered £70 then once you go to the trouble of sending them the device it drops to £20. An IPhone 7 128g (6 years old) when inspected under a white light has some yellow marks, this is organic screen degradation that happens throughout the life of your device. I thought about agreeing to the £20 to save the hassle but as that’s obviously the business plan, I’ve asked for my phone back.

Offered £170 for my iPhone XR, which is is perfect physical and working condition. They have reduced my offer to £65 saying I have dust particles in my camera! Despite photos I took on last day of using the phone being perfect! I have rejected their offer and am expecting a U-Turn offer from them or my phone back. My boss and her husband sent theirs off last week and have had similar treatment too! DO NOT USE THEY ARE CON ARTISTS!!!

I was quoted £240 for my iPad Air, which I duly sent off to Mazuma. A few days later they emailed me to say they thought my screen had white dots on it and therefore they were reducing the valuation down to £40. I have used that iPad every single day for the last year and a half and it has absolutely no damage whatsoever. None. It's immaculate, with no white dots. So I think Mazuma are up to no good. To make matters worse, I declined their offer and was advised I would be sent my iPad back. 20 days later and I still haven't had it back. Have I been scammed? Have Mazuma just kept my iPad? Have I lost it entirely? It's looking that way. My last three emails have all gone unanswered too. I would avoid this company if I were you.

Absolute joke of a company. Told me they would give me £265 for my iPhone 11 that is fully working and in excellent condition. Waited over 2 weeks for the sales pack to come (requested 2 more via phone) none of which have turned up yet. Got bored waiting (Mazuma claim they are fast and fool proof), so sent my phone off special delivery costing £8. Only to be told there was “black dots” on the camera only when you take a picture with a full white background, offering me £80 for the phone instead. I asked for pictures of the “damage” please see the joke attached. Said I want my phone back, now another 3-5 working days before I get my perfectly working excellent condition phone back to sell it properly. Just hope it doesn’t come back with a single scratch and in exactly the same condition in went in. Good job I took before photos!!!

Save yourself the hassle. Sell it on gumtree! I sent my iPhone 11 to Mazuma after being quoted £275. I believed it to be in good condition. No cracks or scratched to the screen or back. Some slight scratched to the sides (but as apple make them matt on the sides I find these hard to avoid) had a case on it the whole time I when they reviewed my phone the quote dropped to £85!! Rejected and now waiting 3 to 5 business days to get it back

This is a joke. The stuff “Ellie” was so rude on email. They could only pay £ 50 for my working phone. I didn’t accept the offer and wrote to them that they could send me the mobile back. I received the phone without the original box that I had sent with the phone and the phone screen has broken during the delivery.

I was offered £145 for my iPhone 8 Plus by Mazuma, a little less than the going price on EBay but hey less hassle apparently. I removed the glass screen saver which had been in it from new, cleaned and polished the phone which was in great condition and sent it to mazuma in its original apple iPhone box. 3 days later I received an email from Mazuma stating that due to deep screen scratches my phone it had been revalued at £45 and was I happy to accept this revised offer🤔🤔, knowing the phone has been sent in great condition I said absolutely not and please return it to me. One week later no sign of my phone, I was about to contact them to find out why I hadn’t yet received it back but on the same day I received an email stating my phone had fallen into some category which had triggered a further valuation and was now being offered £85???? Which means despite me refusing their ridiculously low offer they still hadn’t sent it back yet, I replied to the email refusing the offer which for some strange reason had doubled over the week. Another week later I received my phone back in a plain brown cardboard box, no original apple box I sent it in (the phone was in the great condition I had sent it in, no screen scratches), I complained to mazuma who promised to send me a like for like box, needless to say nothing ever arrived. Overall a total waste of time and very bad experience, I would never send anything to them again, all seems a bit of con to me, preying on people who are desperate for money and willing to accept their massively reduced offers. Just for the record, I put it on EBay and got £179 for it, maybe it would have been more had I still had the original box! Think about you options before choosing to endure the experience that I had.

Hi Keith, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with Mazuma. Unfortunately the strict nature of the industry means our technicians need to be vigilant when checking the devices. If scratches to the screen can be felt with your fingernail the screen would need to replaced. This therefore has an impact on the original price offered. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com Kind regards, Mazuma Mobile

Disappointed as was quoted £275 and this was downgraded to to £85 because of an apparently faulty microphone. I queried this as I’ve never had any issues with the microphone but they won’t reassess. I suppose a lot of people will just take their word for it and accept the lower offer once they’ve gone to the effort of sending their phone!

Hello there, Thank you for your review! We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service you received from us! Unfortunately, due to the nature of the industry, we have to be vigilant with our checks on each device. If the device has an issue with its microphone it would need to be replaced before resale. I sent 2 devices in to Mazuma mobile. An iPhone & an iPad, both were in immaculate condition so I was expecting both to be valued as “Good” After 31 hours on site (well above what was “aimed”) my devices were finally inspected and within 30 seconds both were significantly de-valued by £520. I then asked for pictures of the damage as I knew both devices were like new before being sent and I had to wait over 2 weeks for these to be provided, the pictures they sent were clearly of other devices with damage. I rejected the amended value and asked for my devices to be returned to me, this took a further week to be dispatched (bringing the total time on-site to nearly a month.) and when I received them back they were still like new so it was clear the pictures sent were not of my devices. I have just sent them both to We Buy Any Phone and they have passed inspection so just goes to show Mazuma are deliberately deceiving customers and trying to undervalue perfectly fine devices in the hope that they will just accept, I also believe they committed fraud by sending me pictures of other damaged devices. Please do not use Mazuma.

I feel cheated. Sent a perfectly good iPhone7 and was told it had a LED issue. The phone was used last week with no issues. I notice a thread of comments from similarly affected customers. Leaves a bad taste.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review. Your device was flagged as having white marks within the display, this is an internal defect and would not have meant the phone doesn't work. However, due to this, the LCD screen would need replacing and this is why the price was reduced. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com Kind regards Mazuma
