“I recently purchased a Sceptre Black Edition. I was a little worried that the 42mm size would be too much for my wrist but in fact the watch wears very well indeed and is very comfortable. I purchased one of the horween leather straps with the ridges these are again excellent and make the strip slightly elastic which I think helps with teh wear. The Sceptre Black Edition is a very clear watch to read and has a depth to the dial that gives you the impression of looking into the depths! The blue anti-reflection coating also creates some interesting colours. The Miyota 9039 movement is as usual excellent. So overall the Sceptre has been a great purchase and I am very pleased with it.”

“Marloe ‘Marketplace’ Auto Coniston Rob. Meadows Liking mechanical watches and following Oliver and Gordon’s progress online, a Marloe watch became inevitable. This was fullfilled with a pre-owned ‘Marketplace’ CN7. Free overnight delivery and eco packaging marked Marloe’s caring customer service. My ‘used’ blue Coniston has tiny bezel marks as described and expected but otherwise looks new. The design brings so many carefully considered elements successfully together and provides an enjoyable change from my ‘tool’ watch bias. I especially like the disrinctive lume ‘moat’, only wishing the hands were brighter in darkness. The contrasting warm colour skeleton movement with open rotor adds another depth of interest complementing the dial, plus trusted Japanese time keeping. The hacking, user friendly hand winding crown and good power reserve improve upon my vintage watches. Being pre-owned, along with recycling, minimises niggles about adding patina. Conclusion, ‘Time well spent’! :)”

“I came accross Marloe having commenced a journey looking for a boutique/micro British watch maker having grown somewhat bored with a degree of frustration at the run of the mill designs out there by some of the luxury watch makers. Dont get me wrong, i have some in my collection but wanted something with a story behind the design and the company. Not disapointed at all with my purchase of the Astro, stunning watch, attention to detail is second to none along with the finish. In my opinion the Astro holds its own against watches i have that have cost ten times the cost. Maybe not to everyones taste and i admit i wasnt sure, but on the wrist it is stunning, a conversation piece with a story behind it. The only negative thing i can say is owning one Marloe watch fuels the addiction for which there is no support group, the watch addiction. I will address this addiction one day but in the meantime i am spending a little time deciding which Marloe will be next.Cant speak highly enough of the purchase experience, dispatch and delivery. 10/10. Mainstream luxury watch makers take note, customers are becoming wise to the mark ups, lack of customer satisfaction and same old designs with lack of any imagination, just playing it safe.”

“I think the Marloe Watch Company itself is exemplary, and the 2 out of the 3 watches I've purchased over the years have hit the mark in terms of design aesthetics, attention to detail, and craftsmanship. My most recent purchase, however, missed the mark on the design aspect, and if asked, I would rate the Astro at a 4.0 out of 5.0. I appreciate that much thought and effort goes into every single watch Marloe has released since the company's founding, but, in my opinion, one design choice on the Astro missed the mark. I think the choice of a 20mm lug takes away from an otherwise perfectly proportioned and designed watch, and gives suggests it is larger than it actually is. I would have prefered a 22mm or even a 24mm strap on the top, tapered down, perhaps to a 20mm, at the buckle. A minor quibble, all in all, and perhaps a design necessity in light of manufacturing constraints. Please keep up the great work.”

“A few weeks ago I made an appointment to visit Marloe HQ at Sonning Common near Henley. Oliver kindly produced coffee and demonstrated their range of watches, confirming my original view (from browsing the Marloe website) that the deep blue Coniston Auto - CN7, with the Cognac brown leather strap, was the one. The watch is even more beautiful in real life than it appears on the website, with a real clarity and depth to the design. I chose a registration number from those remaining unsold, and after a few minutes further chat the watch appeared, boxed and bagged and ready to go. After wearing it for a couple of weeks now its visual appeal is undiminished. It is very sturdy and extremely well finished, and its timekeeping is well within specification. Moreover, for such a high-end product it seems to provide remarkably good value for money. So overall, extremely happy with both the watch and the people at Marloe.”
