“I do not recommend Maker&Son.
This company does a fabulous job leaping about in the countryside telling everybody what sensitive souls they are, and how wonderful they all are. This is all smoke and mirrors. Unfortunately they are rubbish at running a business.
I have lost a (huge) deposit (taken without so much as a blush when the company was already in trouble), and I have no sofa or chair. They couldn't organise their finances properly, and are now in liquidation.
Potential buyers beware! And thanks for nothing Maker&Son.”
“Absolutely thrilled to bits. I spent so long dithering about what sort of sofa to get, worrying and cogitating, eventually I ordered the van to sample maker&son. I then dithered some more and ended up whim ordering on available now. And they are here. They arrived Monday. It’s July. It’s sunny. Are we outside? No. We are snuggled up on the most comfortable sofas, that just happen to look photo shoot perfect too. Neither of us can wait for winter so we can hibernate.”

“It would have been 5 . But sadly we have a problem with an under stuffed cushion in corner of our sofa which is constantly sunk lower and won’t buff up like the rest of the suite. We absolutely love our sofa but have not heard back from anyone to deal with this issue , after 4 e.mails . Matt has kindly replied from the sales team assuring us twice now that someone will call , but nothing ??? After sales service disappointing . Let’s hope for January .”
“I placed my order and as part of the promotion was told I would also receive an additional cover free of charge. As of today, and despite contacting the company about this item, I've not received it. Had I known it was not going to be sent I would have changed the color of the initial item. Additionally, I was also told I would have the option to pay for my purchase in installment before shipping. Not so much, instead I received an email nearly demanding the entire payment.Finally despite the fact, that some of the reviews I've read indicated customers having issues with the delivery company, all of my issues have been with the company directly and lack of timely response. Definitely did not recommend to a friend who asked and would not to others either based on this experience.”
“Appalling customer service after non-delivery of furniture I ordered in November 2022. I was told it would arrive by Xmas - it never appeared !! And now they totally refuse to acknowledge any correspondence I have sent them, in fact they have even blocked me on social media platforms.”
“I found Maker&Son on Instagram and became immediately tempted. They are small artisan furniture company, just the sort of brand you follow and admire from a distance. Their products were in fairness well over my price range but I ordered the Maker&Son mobile showroom for a visit (fabulous service and great staff - thanks, Matt!), sat once in their showcase chair and opened immediately a separate savings account to put the money aside.
I am so happy I did! The chair came well under the expected make-to-order delivery time, the client service and delivery service were excellent and - lastly - I love my chair! This is exactly the sort of thing you invest for yourself in, it will be the centre of my living room for years and I could not be happier! It's come to the point when my guests coming to visit are already booking slots to sit in the chair! Thank you for a wonderful product!”
“I’m very please with my song armchair. Not only the quality is amazing and beautiful but it’s even larger than what I imagined. And now I can confirm that they are indeed very comfy but without sinking to deep. I’m also really impressed with how they thought about important details in the making of their chair. (Like integrating a system that will prevent your back cushion to fall out of shape and support) Finally, the customer service and the delivery team were perfect.”

“Excellent experience from showroom to delivery. All exceptionally smooth; considering we live in a very old cottage I was expecting delivery to be difficult. The team who managed this were amazing, it isn’t called a ‘white glove’ service for nothing. They made a challenging job look super easy. Have experienced excellent pre and post sale service which has been a high point and I would be negligent in not mentioning the product. We are now the proud owners of the most exceptional sofa. Why exceptional? Build quality second the none, high comfort factor and a ultimately a piece of furniture that brings us and the dogs joy in the sitting room. Will we buy another one, of course we will.”

“Firstly I adore your product, the fabrics are interesting and a bit different. I like different! My yellow cord fabric lifts the room & gives a casual feel.It is a hit with my large family. 11 grand children & 4 dogs, plus parents.
My new second set of covers is a lovely soft blue velvet which adds sophistication. I gather I will have to be more careful with these. The velvet set came with marks along the seams but having read your care information I put it down to 'pressure marking' from being stored in the box it arrived in.I did mistake this for 'uneven dyeing'. Having left the sofa over night with my new velvet covers on there is improvement.
There was a delay in the arrival of the sofa & the wrong cushions arrived to start with but Laura sorted everything out.”
“I really can't fault the experience in any way - communication was professional, prompt and clear, and the delivery of my love seat was arranged only 2 days after I placed the order by the friendliest delivery team I have ever met! “Everything about Maker&Son was great from the start. The samples arrived very quickly, we received a polite follow up call and arranged for the famous Maker van to pay us a visit.
The van is an inspired idea and was perfect for a lockdown where travel was limited. We purchased a sofa, footstool and a bed which were delivered by a very polite and courteous in house team.
The furniture has gone into our new self build so the photo shows the sofa in position in glorious isolation as we have not yet moved in.”
