“I believe the way to judge a truly good company is how well they deal with problems, even when, (as in a recent delivery to me), it was due entirely to damage by the delivery company. There was no protracted review or discussion on what had happened, Lion immediately sent a replacement order, which I received the next morning, such that I could still fulfill my framing obligations on time.”

“First class service and good communication when mat cutter didn’t arrive. My only request would be change your transport company, they were appalling. They give no communication and when questioned didn’t know where the parcel was. Mat cutter finally arrived with a guy doing freelance work for them. I’m sure you will agree this isn’t very good. “Service is good but why do I have to pay £14 delivery every time I use the chop service when I can easily collect from Lions. Why show a map when there's no counter service. All this has happened since Covid and I find it very annoying!!!”

“I bought the minirail system for my wife's Open Studios art displays. Very well made and looks great. The really important thing is to get your screws in a straight, horizontal line. The videos and manuals rather skip over this. Sometimes when you drill into a wall the drill slips and this can cause problems. If it slips up or down you need to try a little to the left or right. The position of the screws along the rail is not critical but if you are above or below the line then the clipping of the rail won't work because there is little flexibility in the metal rails. You could use a laser leveller but I don't have one. I used a 2m spirit level to draw the horizontal line and then marked off 30 cm intervals as recommended. To minimise error I first used a thin drill bit (3 or 4 mm) as a pilot hole and then finished off with a 6 mm bit as recommended. Of course the rail covers any pencil marks of the line and so the finished rail looks very professional. Fantastic product.”

“I needed a new underpinned, and they’re not cheap. After chatting with Shane he advised me which machine would suit both my needs and my budget. I ordered the machine and was informed by Shane that it was available to pay in 3 interest free payments. This was a godsend as it allowed me to get the machine the next day, to keep me working, and manage the finances. I will certainly make Lion my first port of call for any other purchases I make. The process of ordering a new Underpinner was made easy, and even enjoyable!, thanks to Shane. His attention to detail, positivity, can-do attitude and clarity in communication gave me confidence in the purchase. “Great range and good quality. I ordered from the chop service, clear instructions and the service was great, beautifully mitred pieces ready for me to glue and clamp. As a novice picture framer I chose the chop service to ensure I had accurate mitres. Great result, which has given me confidence to reframe more of our artwork and save myself a lot of money and still have professional looking frames and in a frame of my choosing. The delivery was also speedy. I bought new mounts from another retailer, would be great if you supplied custom cut mounts as well.”
