“I’ve taken 3 Cactus courses, most recently Spanish. I highly recommend the courses. I really enjoyed the Spanish course and I felt more confident at the end of it. I’ve deducted a star because I would have liked more ideas for homework and sustaining learning.”

“Carolna is very nice and thorough and I feel my learning has progressed. However the change of date was disruptive as it took up a lot of time, went on for what felt like a long time and felt uncertain. In future I think students should be presented with a monkey survey with a number of dates in the future weeks (not the next day!) and if there is no consensus then have a new teacher assignedfor the assigned date (which is what happened in the end). I think Cactus admin needs to take responsibility for this and not lay it on the teacher.”

“I have attended 12 Cactus courses learning Danish since July 2021. I love the small group, the opportunity to both speak in and listen to Danish, and of course the input from the tutor. The curriculum she offers is varied and interesting. I really feel that I have progressed and gained in confidence.”

“It is easy to book onto your chosen course and, once the course is nearing completion, Cactus send an email with the link for the follow-up course. I have chosen on-line courses for the convenience and completed 2 so far which I have enjoyed. I have had a couple of queries and Cactus have always responded quickly by email.”

“I’ve now done 4 x 10 week Italian courses with Cactus. They are weekly via Zoom. The experience has been superb throughout, our teacher Roberta Guzzo is the perfect mix of encouraging, challenging and patient. I already have my next course booked!”

“I signed up for the Beginner 1 Cantonese class (online course). Our tutor, Ka Yin Chow, was excellent. She was professional, engaging, warm, helpful and patient. Her depth of knowledge was incredible, and she always managed to make learning enjoyable, interactive and fun. My confidence in both speaking and listening have grown enormously over the 10 weeks and I will be carrying on with the follow up course soon. Could not recommend enough.”

“This is a fantastic way to learn a language. With weekly, direct access to a tutor (I learn via Zoom) and working with a small group of other students, you soon begin to gain confidence in all aspects. There is plenty of opportunity to check your understanding of a subject and by also using a prescribed workbook, you can practice outside of class if you want. It's fun too, with plenty of activities that make the language 'come alive' and relate to real situations. There are various levels you can start at and a pre entry quiz to help you decide which level is best for you. I think the cost is good for a 10 week course of 2 hour lesson but Cactus often have good discounts too, so look out for these! I'm just completing my 3rd Elementary level and I feel so much more confident in my understanding of written and spoken Italian”
