They don’t deserve even 1 star! They guy drilled a hole on my lock, that is a high security lock according to him, and charged me £300!!!! It is unbelievable! But it was 2 am and you locked outside your house, you have no option. It is infuriating and they should be closed down!

I was given the price of £60 to bypass the lock as I was locked out of the house. The guy arrived in 10 min and started telling me all kind of rubbish about drilling and replacing the lock and quoted the price of £180 +VAT. I refused and he became really angry demanding call out charge, which i also refused to pay. He eventually agreed to open the door at a price of £80 which I payed. It felt like the ordeal was over but not yet. We discovered that we could not insert the key in the front door lock from outside as there was glue in it. So we had to call different locksmith and replace the lock. Those people are criminals and should be investigated by police.

SCAM avoid at all cost. If like me you were unfortunate enough to deal with this company, raise an investigation with Action Freud. They have 100s of cases against them.

Con artist. Had him over to replace a broken lock while I was busy in meetings. Charge was about £59 for the callout when I asked on the website. He pushed very hard to replace a lock with an expensive alternative once he got there and then wanted payment on the spot. Total bill came to £516. Not knowing any better and not having a lot of time to check anything he was saying I went along with it. Realised later that he’d marked up the price of the lock by a factor of 10. I’m not a violent man but I hope this guy goes blind and everything he loves dies.

Do not EVER use this company or be fooled by the assistant on the phone who tells you it’s £60. My partner & i got locked out last night, lady said it’d be £60 & they’ll be there in 30 mins, nope, over an hour we waited & what we were told was £60 jumped to £695! The locksmith who wrote his name down as ‘Filip’ drilled through out lock (night latch) the latch was undamaged, the essentially replaced the front plate & gave us 2 new keys, it was the same latch however, please tell me how that alone costs £250? Emerg call out was £53, labour £43, drilling the lock £180, £250 for new plate which was same as our other one (the bog standard was the same lock but without keys? Who sells that? Completely pointless?), £115 VAT & HE ticked the box which says something like ‘i hereby agree to the prices & procedures before the job has started’ but we did not tick this but i sadly signed it, please don’t use this company, even their price lists online don’t add up to what we were charged & now thanks to them we’re absolutely deflated & distraught. We could’ve bought our front door 3 times with that money. £300 odd i’d understand, near enough £700? No way. Not fair.

A BIG RIP OFF, DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL COSTS unfortunately we locked ourselves out after our dog ran off so we contacted them and they came out in 20 minutes after we called them. The guy drilled the back door lock and replaced the lock in 15 minutes. Unfortunately I was in the car looking after the dogs while my partner was sorting the paperwork with the technician. I came in to the house to see a £612 invoice for a 15 minutes job? Is that how expensive this is? Not even a dentist or a plumber will charge that amount for that. I am putting a complain to trading standards now AND TAKING LEGAL ACTIONS

Quoted me 60 pounds for the job - latch lock blocked from inside the flat - and then issued an invoice for 478.80 without informing of the cost of actions as he was performing them. For your info - drilling lock £120+vat new cylinder + installation £220 + installation labour and adjustment - £59+vat The cheapest yale for 40 pounds max... If they quoted me correctly I would have found someone way cheaper but the guy will just start bullying you to pay right now. They are known for that.

I had the same problem. I got scammed by a company call DR locksmith limited. They over charged me and cost me £580 to get a new lock change because I locked myself. Do not use this company. I wish I have read these reviews before I call them. They said on the phone £60 and then when he reached my place, he said that my lock need to change n in order to change, I have to drill the lock to get it out, then cost more for a new lock n drilling. Total £580. So I should have declined because it was not what I was told on the phone. Beware of these rip off companies

Do not use this company under any circumstances, they are fraudsters. Charged £700 for a lock replacement / door opening. Also made to feel intimidated in my own home when questioning the cost and forced to pay. Have since checked costs with other local locksmith and the work should have cost no more than £150. When complaining they also tried to fob me off with a £92 refund. Have reported them to the police and trading standards and will be taking legal action.

I was grossly overcharged by keys247/DR locksmith. They charged me £726 for a lock replacement, when other locksmiths have since quoted a maximum of £160 for the same scope of works. When I tried to dispute it at the time, the locksmith made me feel threatened in my own home which left me no choice but to pay. I felt exploited and taken advantage of as I am a young, single female dealing with this alone. I made an attempt to negotiate the price down to market value in the following days, but they were not willing to refund any more than £100. I am now considering legal action.

Absolute and total scam. A few years ago now, when I was a young woman living alone in London and locked out of my flat. They locksmith fleeced me out of £992 because I stupidly believed the words coming out of his mouth (for ONE lock change). Utter lies. Unless you are seriously prepared to stand your ground, be EXTREMELY wary. They will take advantage of anyone with no qualms at all. Will be reporting to trading standards.

Do NOT use this company. They are still doing the same crooked scam as others have stated below.

Under no circumstances should you have anything to do with this firm - unless, of course, you want to be fleeced. I was charged £289 plus VAT for a lock that several reputable locksmiths (members of the Master Locksmiths Association) said should have cost £50 including VAT. If you need a locksmith, go the the MLA website and choose one in your area.

Complete and utter con man. Do not call this company, it is a scam. Reported him to the police. I locked myself out of my house so called them to help me bypass a very simple lock and they quoted my £55. When he turned up, he then tried to tell me that normal methods were not going to work so he needed to charge me £120 to drill through the lock and then whatever it would cost to put a new one in. I knew this to be a lie, so I told him I was going to use someone else and he became very rude and told me there is a £55 cancellation charge. When I told him I wouldn’t be giving him any money, he stood threateningly outside my house. He also asked me if I had told anyone else about the situation I was in. I drove to a friend’s house, then called another locksmith, who came and bypassed my lock in 5 seconds.

I locking myself out and I’m a disabled pensioner. My neighbour was kind enough to phone company which she found on the internet which advised a cost of £60 which I said I was just about able to afford. On arrival you locksmith said it would cost £160 my neighbour then questioned him about being told it would only cost £60 and he was insistent it was £160 and that was only to just drill the lock only. He then gave me a Bill of £160 plus £35 vat Total of £192. I was totally shocked and was very upset as I didn’t have that kind of money at all in doors and had to embarrass myself by asking my neighbour if she could lend me the money. I’m 73 years old and have never borrowed a penny in my life and had my neighbour not lent me the balance to pay your locksmith, I don’t know what would have done. If this is the conduct and way this company is run, it’s giving false information to people on you advertisement.

I called this company to open our front door after getting locked out. They charged us £330 for a 15 minute job. The website states a fixed price for emergency door opening but it also says from £59. My opinion is the website is therefore deliberately misleading to draw you in. I later consulted a professional locksmith who stated that it should be no more than £80 to open a door. I feel they take advantage of customers and I want to make sure that no one else is treated this way. They also offered me a 20% refund when I complained which I refused to accept as I felt this was beyond unreasonable.
