The only Dealer of Ebikes I visited who actually had what they were selling available to try. I had a question which via email was answered the same day.

I'm 75 and have started cycling again after serious illness. I purchased the classic Dutch style bike December 2016 and it has enabled me to get around and getting a bit fitter in the process. After a few teething problems, quickly sorted out by the amazing people at Juicy, I've enjoyed trouble free cycling. Thank you Juicy bikes. Geoff Brown.

Hi Geoff - Good to hear the bike is helping you and everything is now trouble free. Stay in touch - we'd love to hear more!
In general pleased with my purchase although I have had a couple of minor issues.

Hi Pamela. Do let us know what these issues are - we're keen to help resolve. We'd like you to be completely happy!
I have enjoyed using my Juicy Bike for its first year in and around Hereford City. The battery assist is very useful and in particular, on some of the hills and gradients which I would otherwise have difficulty with. Queuing traffic at street junctions find it amazing to see a cycle 'powering away' from standstill without visual signs of effort from the rider! Whilst I recharge the battery during daytime with free electricity via my house roof PV panels, I have noted recently that this recharge appears to be needed more frequently. I am concerned about battery durability as the cycle will not now cover the suggested 25 miles prior to recharge. Sincerely, Phil Edwards

Hi Philip and thanks for the feedback. You will notice that as the weather gets colder, range will reduce. When the spring returns your range will increase again.
Good bikes from friendly people. Could be a bit better organised when arranging test runs for people living out of the area. Also I would echo a previous review that more warning could be given about the tenancy for electric bikes to run away when turning at low speed. My wife ended up with the bike on top of her when she tried a walking speed 90 degree turn. Turning the pedal caused the motor to kick in and the back wheel to shoot away sideways.

Hi David - our advice, when doing slow manoeuvres, is to keep one brake lever partly held. As soon as the brakes are slightly operated all power to the motor is cut, helpful during a 90 degree turn. Thanks for sharing.
Bike is great, easy to use. Particularly like the 'accelerator' to help get going on inclines and to push it up hills. Used it 3 times so far. Unfortunately on the last occasion on a canal towpath, the back wheel slipped sideways, I crashed into the bridge, the bike and me fell over. End result was a trip to A&E, x rays, painkillers. Ultimately resulted in spinal surgery a few weeks later. Think there needs to be more caution given to riders about the possibility of this happening and what the consequences may be ( although I am sure mine are quite extreme!!). Another electric bike rider I was with experiences the same back wheel sliding but was better able to cope with it. Don't let this put you off having an electric bike, they are great, but do treat them with caution.

Oh Sally! So sorry to hear this news - not the best way to find out how powerful the bikes are. We hope you recover very soon and thanks for sharing - wise words indeed.
Difficult to fold and the wires keep coming off of the front light. Enjoy riding it

That's useful Peter thanks. New bikes can be a bit stiff at first. When you bring your bike in for its first free service we can take a close look at the lights. Thanks again.
Have had my Juicy bike nearly a year now, & use it every week, I am in my 70s & live in a hilly area, without having an 'ebike' I would not be biking at all. Only one fault with it - the rear brake disc 'unscrewed' on its thread when I stopped on a steep hill causing us - the bike & I to roll backwards finishing up in a heap !

Hope the experience didn't put you off John. Good to know the bikes cope with your (up) hills. Make sure you get your bike serviced and stay safe! Thanks for the feedback.
So far so good. I’ve had my Juicy compact bike for a couple of months using it for commuting 14 miles a day (most days). No problems to report and the bike works well, is stable and handles very nicely considering the small wheel rim size. The motor and power delivery is pretty good for folding bike but its fair to say you wont be winning many time trials, however a comfortable ride taking much the strain after a long day at work (and fun). Not the cheapest option on the market. I test rode other bikes (cheaper and dearer) but I felt the Juicy bike was the best all rounder and the team at juicy had the best technical knowledge on their own bikes. Juicy were very helpful and spent time to explain the bike ensuring it was set up for me specifically before I rode it. The bike is also one of the lighter folding bikes so easy to handle fold up and tuck away for space saving. I would say Juicy bikes are well built and DEFINITELY worth considering if going electric.
