“Awesome - my first solo trip so happy with everything - paperwork for flights taxis opera tickets and hotel spot on - additional information sheets very helpful as were previous reviews - glad I took a Mac as 2nd opera was delayed by 2hrs - both operas finished late 00.40 and 2.40 but hotel is so close it’s not long to get to bed. I stayed in Guilliette e Romeo - very central - such lovely helpful staff nice and clean. Cannot fault anything and with so much being organised before hand it made the whole experience less stressful. Opera seats were brilliantly positioned. Very easy to contact company be email to have any questions answered (thanks Hannah) Thank you - totally recommend and would not hesitate to use again”

“We had a wonderful in Verona. We stayed in the Accademia which was very central. The team there were so helpful and we enjoyed their recommendations for meals out which were all fantastic. Especially restaurants Maffei, Greppi and Antica Torretta. It felt so special and our seats were fabulous. We loved the whole experience. Thank you so much for organising and ensuring everything ran smoothly, especially when I wanted to add on a few days at the beginning. Now I am thinking of where to go for the next weekend away! Thank you once again Ginny”

“The trip to Verona was amazing - a mini Rome is how I would best describe it. Hotel Academia - excellent Hotel in a perfect position. Unfortunately, it rained on the night of the Opera and we only managed to see 3 of the 4 acts. Nevertheless a great time, many good restaurants with local wines and reasonably priced.”

“Our trip to Florence & Lucca was originally planned for August 2020. As a result of the Pandemic the trip was rescheduled twice 2021 and 2022. Both re-arrangements were smoothly processed by our Client Manager Hannah avoiding any extra costs. Nevertheless, before leaving for Florence, we had a concern about the effect of "Gatwick Chaos" in particular flight cancellations. Again Hannah helped out by assuring us we would be supported by "Weekend a la Carte" if problems occurred. The trip included private transport between the airport and hotels. Vehicles and Drivers were of a very high standard. As were the Hotels. A special mention must be made of the 3-hour private guided tour of the Uffizi Museum. Our "one to one" guide Isabella, knowledgeable, personable and professional ensured we were shown all the major exhibits and gave us a real understanding of the Artists and their work. We have used "Weekend a la Carte" in the past and will likely make use of their services again. Highly Recommended. Jean & Martin Pope”

“All went smoothly until the Palio was delayed by one day just as it was about to start. Weekend a la carte contacted us that evening arranged for another night in a hotel and rebooked the flight. We got to see the Palio thanks to their diligence and expertise. I rasa great trip.”

“Took my wife to Verona for a long weekend to celebrate her birthday. She had always wanted to see an opera in the Roman Colosseum arena. Italian Short breaks managed to find flights at decent times, transfers from the airport to the hotel and back, a fantastic hotel, the Giulietta and Romeo just metres from the venue and upgraded seats just 10 rows from the stage to see Bizet's Carmen performed by a cast of hundreds, including six horses and four donkeys. It was perfect and for once, my wife was speechless. Hats off to Hannah who managed everything wonderfully.”

“We booked a trip to Verona to see an opera and then Siena for the Palio 2 years ago which were inevitably delayed but well worth the wait. The attention to detail and communication from Kevin, Hannah and the rest of the team was second to none throughout the process. Everything was very well organised and made for a memorable holiday. “Perfect from start to finish Hannah kept us updated from booking to return home, very professional operation. The choice of hotel was great with friendly helpful staff, the pickups and transfers excelent, the opera seats third-row centre. We can't wait to use them again”

“This was our fourth Italian Short Break with Weekend a la Carte and the third to Verona and the opera festival. As with the others, the arrangements were faultless. We will certainly look for further short vacations in the future.”

“Everything about our trip to Verona and Lake Garda was excellent including the transfers, the hotels and the tickets to the Opera which were the best in the house. We were even booked into the hotel in which the stars of the Opera stayed ! We were a party of four and the trip exceeded our expectations.”

“We had an amazing time in Verona and Lake Garda. We got picked up on transfers when supposed to moving from Verona to Lake Garda and from the airports. The hotels were fantastic and the opera was amazing. We could have asked for a better holiday. The service was first class from Hannah and the team and I would definitely recommend booking your holiday with Hannah. We will be booking again for sure.”

“We took a 3 night break in Lucca in August to see a Puccini opera. So lovely to have dinner booked for us as well as transport to and from the opera. Doing this independently would have been much more hassle. The Ilaria Hotel where we stayed was in an excellent location, just inside the city wall. Very friendly and helpful staff as well as plenty of choice for breakfast which could be enjoyed on a shady terrace. A much-awaited break which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you.”

“The weekend was excellent. The highlight was obviously Tosca with something magical about being on the shores of a lake on a balmy evening but Lucca was special too. The hotel was in an excellent location, characterful, with friendly and helpful staff. The car transport all arrived when they were meant to with drivers who were polite and informative and took away all the stress that comes from having to arrange taxis etc. The pandemic had meant that the trip had to be rolled over twice but throughout the A la Carte office kept us informed of developments and couldn't hae been more helpful”

“My wife and I had a wonderful 3 days in Verona, stress-free, everything arranged perfectly. The Hotel was perfect, a short walk from The Arena, the Opera seats were fabulous, as they were when we visited Milan with your company. Many thanks. We're planning to travel with you next year.”
