“The service was good. But once again the food fell short. Chi curry had 6 small pieces of chicken of various textures and half a bowl of sauce. Nan was only half. Not sure what the mango chutney was. Tasted more like BBQ sauce. Spoke to girl who asked if she should talk to the chef. Great place to take Grandchildren. But not for food,other than the carvery 😪”

“I've been a long time customer of the Hobby Horse at Syston on Glebe Road in Leicestershire, but twice now they let me down. I or my family and friends have not been for a while and were talking since boxing day 2022 when we were asked by a staff member to come and celebrate as we normally stay home to do this, but this was are first experience of going to our favourite place and so we booked it with the help of Karen whom we got to know well as we have with Gary.
We arrived boxing day at the Hobby Horse and was greeted by two staff members and shown the table being No 17 and all went well with what we ordered and so on, the problem started after we finished the calvery when no staff would remove our empty plates even though we asked for this service as they said it would be dealt with. 30 minutes later we took them back ourselves and put them on the bar. Where by the stand in manager said to us didn't anyone pick them up for you. NO.. staff just kept walking by and looking doing nothing as they wernt particularly busy either plus staff were eating in the kitchen when the doors were open into the kitchen.
Waiting to take the puddings into containers took 30 minutes as no one was intrested and made the excuse there was none left, whereas all they had to do was go in the back where they did eventually and got what we asked.
Really disappointing big time and wish we had stayed at home, total waste of money with bad service. NOTE.. Karen and Gary wernt on that day.
The end of the month being February is my birthday celebration with the family at Hobby Horse again so as there is seven of us I pray we're not let down again.. As we love the Hobby Horse and Karen and Gary.. This will be my second birthday meal there.. Sadly the first went wrong on the day with staff again. But Karen and Gary wernt working that day either.
