Regased told 2 sensors broken after diagnostic check will cost 276.took it to autocon repairs he did check and replaced the aircon cooling fan now works perfect and half the price.sensors were working.said as being regased they should not have charged for checks as already connected wasted 50 pounds. If you want a correct job done do not go to halfords redditch rubbish and don't know what they talking about just want extra money go elsewhere. Don't use halfords

Booked a van on for an oil change the week previous to take it in on the day to get told "sorry we cannot do it today" Absolutely rubbish these people are in the trusham road, EXETER branch. Dont bother going there. Their rude and useless.

I have had my cars serviced, MOT etc for 3 years at Crawley Autocentre. I have been impressed with the quality of their work, their prices and the helpfulness of their staff. I would recommend them to anyone needing reliable service and repairs for their car. I would in particular commend the manager, Phil, and his assistant, Josh, who have always been very helpful.

5 times going through their press whatever number to get through to autocenter in Barnsley but this guy cut me off every time..the first time I got through their selection to speak to the garage which I presume was wombwell lane stairfoot a guy answered and we spoke ..he said what can I help you with...i told him I wanted DPF system cleaning ..he said why..i explained then he cut me off...every time after that as soon as connection was made there was silence then cut off again 4 times...WHY. ..absolutely pathetic

On the 15/03/2019 my car went in for tyres Conti. 255/40R18 SSR but unknown to me the wrong size and type of tyre was fitted (not run flat tyres)The tyre size should be 255/40R18 SSR (SSR = Run flat tyres) the tyres on my car are 225/40/R18 and are standard tyres. I paid £395.98 for Run-flat tyres and they overcharged me for fitting the wrong size tyre approx £300.00. Now the want approx £230.00 to replace my tyres after there error. Also the vehicle has passed 3 MOT's with the wrong tyres on. Now having to take legal action. After 5 years loyal service I wouldn't be seen dead anywhere near Halfords Again

I took my car in for a ‘summer ready air con bundle’ as the air con was not working at all, my regular garage was fully booked for weeks ahead and I was leaving for a trip to Europe in a few days. The check included air con diagnostic and 5 point car health check (including: health of battery, checking headlights and brake lights, condition of wiper blades and condition of windscreen). After the check I was advised that the air con system was leaking and I needed a new condenser costing £501.77. I contacted a mobile car air con company the next day and they came out and they fixed the air con by topping up the refrigerant for £70!! After my Halfords check, I checked the tyre pressures again myself and they were all too low. I also noticed one of my wiper blades was damaged which Halfords hadn’t mentioned and then when I was driving down to Italy a couple of days later I realised one of my headlights wasn’t working, which Halfords hadn’t picked up!! Not sure what they actually checked at all apart from trying to sell me a new air con condenser I didn’t need!!

Halfords - You've made a Kwik Fit customer out of me!! What a poor, no, shocking customer experience!! I joined your motoring club and booked an MOT on the 20th of June. The MOT was booked for the 5th July at 14:20, @ Halfords Autocentre, Long Barn Lane, Reading RG2 7SZ. I had email and text confirmation of the booking clearly stating the booking date and time. I then got an email yesterday at 17:16 on the 4th July saying my booking for the 4th July had been cancelled, implying I had missed my appointment. News to me as my appointment was on the 5th July. I called the Autocentre this morning as I thought it was an error, and I would still be able to get the MOT done as scheduled. Unfortunately not. It turns out their MOT tester is off, so now a Halfords problem becomes my problem!! I had taken a half day holiday from work to get this done. Fortunately I have been saved by Kwik Fit who had a slot in their Camberley centre for today. I have had to pay more for the MOT than Halfords just under £45 but I guess it is the old saying if it seems to good to be true then it probably is. Now I just need Halfords to refund the fee paid for the service they failed to provide.

Halfords damaged my car. Accidents happen of course, a lot happens in these workshops but in spite of a fair bit of evidence they refuse to admit it. Just a reminder before you leave your vehicle with anyone, not just Halfords, photograph it first from all angles. It only takes a minute.

My first experience with Halfords fox lane, Wolverhampton. MOT was booked. Very pleased with the service was given by Adam. Job was completed on time and excellent customer service given Mr Hanna

One star because you can't give less, and I would be giving out minus stars if possible. If incompetence were to be given physical form this garage and the company would be it. My vehicle breaks down one month after a full service and MOT and I am given three different excuses as to why?! Miraculously, the vehicle also seemed to spontaneously generate oil... I was not aware that vehicles could do this, maybe it's a localised miracle that happens here? I was given the pleasure of speaking with someone who is higher up than the person I had been dealing with, seemingly to impress me that they were actually doing their job? Not convinced, especially when that person gave me yet more "facts" that did not line up with anything that had been said previously. If you are going to lie to someone you need to get all your ducks in a row. Herding cats or taming a t-rex would be a more achievable task than dealing with this lot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH EVEN BASIC INFORMATION. Now received confirmation from the company doing the repairs that this garage has effectively caused the destruction of my vehicle and have lied to me about the cause of needing a full engine rebuild. DO NOT GO TO THIS ABOMINATION OF A GARAGE!!!!!!

Finchley Centre My wing mirror housing was smashed by a passing car so it was held together with a rubber band. I took the car there and Alf had a look, ordered the part and fitted it at a good price. Friendly and efficient. I will need to paint it as it is only primed, but I don't mind that.They gave me advice as to how to do it and where to buy the paint. So happy to have my repair done without too much waiting.

I have booked and obviously paid for a cam BlackVue installation in Ashbourne using the online service on 4th of June for a specific slot on a certain day or 13th of June On 7th of June , I’ve received an email with an update that everything is ready and I am “ good to go “ on my chosen date …fair play On 10th of June Saturday late afternoon , another mail was received stating that my booking was changed and moved to Derby on 15th or 2 days after …???? Yep , they did not even bother to call or politely ask me if the rescheduled appointment is good enough and I am available in that day , presume now their thoughts are everyone works 8-5 with 1h break and everyone is obliged to go and do whatever they instantly decide to do so …total nonsense! I guess near the time I was going to receive another email changing the date again to December 15th for instance ( say Fort Williams ) and that’s how the life goes on with them….. And that unfortunately was not the end as I rang “ Customer Service Halfords “ and yet again receive one of the most vague , ridiculous and unprofessional excuses ( lies ) such as “online service should not been available , there was error in the system etc.” , absolute lack of transparency and customers respect and loyalty Hold on…..I have got it now , you’re too , too big, arrogant and possibly ignorant for my pity £600 so you could easily wave it on go without them ??? Walsall Autocentre - air con diagnosis: Absolutely pointless. Precious time & money wasted - never again. I already knew it had a leak & all they could tell me is that it had a leak and nothing more. They were not polite or professional either. AVOID. Use a specialist.

Made appointment online which in the highlands involves a night stay over All booked ready to go only to have the appointment cancelled no reason offered or no attempt to call me to explain why or apologise Left with expense of hotel to pay plus travel with no repair thanks Halfords for being what we all feared you are

Halfords Autocentre - Vicarage Lane, Blackpool. Disgusted and going back there tomorrow to kick up a storm! - I'd recently taken my car in for a free break check as it was booked in for an MOT in the following days (just to be on the safe side). Anyway, the guy behind the counter said there were no issues at all breaks are fine, don't need changing yet as there's more than enough left on the pad. I take my car for it's MOT two days later and guess why it fails... the breaks... but that's not all - I take it to another reputable garage on the same day and lone beholds it passes, even the bloke who did later MOT was furious at what they had done and has since warned me it's very common practice at Halfords as they have quotas to hit on selling certain quantities of services. Any vulnerable person can easily be taken advantage off by these people and the company itself when in-fact they are supposed to a trusted brand. Appalled and disgusted is an understatement.

Bunch of crooks trying to squeeze cash out of customers with tyres they don’t need coming to 100s of pounds I took my car back and took it else where! I would never them again.

My car went for a service and MOT service part of emac, my car failed mot with advisories which I got rectified and was happy at this piont, the problem arose after , the car was never serviced as I marked the parts all the liquid was not topped up no lubricant on battery terminals or hinges or doors, the only thing which was done was the reset on my car to say it was done unfortunately not, the assistant manager was who I dealt with who no longer works there, I went to another garage as there was vibration when breaking, the front discs were warped and pads where worn , halfords never picked up on this my numberplate light was out , not a mention on advisorie, I've made a complaint as I'm deeply concerned as what a waste of money and things not being found which would and should have, the centre manager Darren phoned me and I was initially happy but then it seemed I struggled to explain myself as I couldn't get a word in, and it felt like they were starting to protect themselves rather than let's get this sorted, and I felt a disbelief of him on me, I'm not after a refund only the work too be done, I had to end the call saying I wish to speak to regional manager and I'm going to end this call, I've always trusted halfords previously other branches but unfortunately it closed so I used the swansea branch as I was always happy before, I won't ever use them again nor recommend, I really wish I stayed with my car to watch them, I did mark the parts though which wasn't changed so I knew they hadn't, I cleaned the engine before it went there not a fingerprint after the service, , I've removed some oil myself and its black sludge but the manager on the phone Darren was saying we'll we drain via the sump not syphon it from under bonnet, that's fine but the piont is they never done anything, I hope people look at this and consider where they go, a total utter disgrace and I'm horrified they can let this happen,

Booked my car in for a full service. Told them that I was hearing a droning sound from the back of the car and asked them to see if they could figure out what it was. They told me it was track rod at the front. I paid for the service and the track rod repair, including a £60 diagnostic fee for presumably identifying the problem. Drove the car home and it’s still making the droning noise. Which means they did not road test it to check they’d solved the problem - a road test is also meant to be included in the cost of the full service according to their website. I rang them and said the car was still making the noise and they said to bring the car back again - I then discover they want to charge another £60 diagnostic fee for diagnosing the problem they failed to diagnose under the original £60 diagnostic fee. All the staff are very polite but I just don’t trust the work and I don’t like feeling ripped off. I have since cancelled the booking and will be looking for a better garage to go to in future.
