“1 of the glass panels was broken on delivery but received a replacement in 2 days, some of the pictures in the instructions were a bit blurry and had to download some more, but otherwise really pleased with the greenhouse and can't wait to start using it.”

“I'm not sure if this is a review about the retailer or the product. Greenhouse stores were very helpful and friendly on the phone and the product arrived within timescales. Only problem really was the poor assembly instructions and the drawings that they contain, so a certain amount of trial and error was required during assembly. The roof vents were a bit of a pig in particular. Other than that very pleased.”

“This is a well priced high quality product and I am pleased with the final result. However, the instructions for construction were poor. There must be a better way to provide customers with guidance on how to build their greenhouse than a series of black and white diagrams. It made Ikea flatpack furniture instructions look good. Do not underestimate the time and hard work needed to build your greenhouse - it took me 10 days working about 4 hrs a day. The available videos offer solutions to your confusion and fail to deliver.”

“I bought a Vitavia Venus Greenhouse, everything was delivered and seemed OK. I spent quite a bit of time getting the base level and square before assembling the frame. The instructions say not to overtighten the bolts, this is because they are made of toffee so be careful. Although the base came with clips to attach the frame I added extra holes/bolts to make it more secure. I struggled to get the glass to fit so I had to call the manufacturer. I had bought toughened glass so I did not need to use the aluminium clips, apparently obviously, although after re-reading the instructions I could not find this mentioned. But after getting this vital piece of information the glass started going in ok. Unfortunately the last large pane that I picked up to fit just exploded in my hands. It was the first one that had been unloaded from the van and stood against the wall so it was the last one for me to pick up. I watched everything being unloaded so I do not think that the driver had caused a problem, but a couple of other panes are scratched so they might have been miss-handled during manufacture/storage. Anyway, my glazer advised me strongly against buying 3mm glass to replace it so ended up getting 4mm for £45. I had to call again, the glass in the door was loose (ie. falling out) and was told that the problem was probably due to the fact that I had assembled the door incorrectly. I have never liked being told that I am wrong especially when am sure that I was not. So I had a look for the problem myself and could see that the glazing strips for the door were a different profile. I emailed photos to the manufacturer showing the correctly assembled door frame and glazing strips but was told that I was wrong (again) about the strips. There were a couple of extra glazing strips supplied that I cut up and with the addition of bead of sealant the glass is now secure. As mentioned, I opted for glazing strips as it can get a little windy here (Anglesey) but they did need trimming quite a bit in places to get them to fit neatly. Overall I am happy with the finished greenhouse, and more importantly so is my wife. If I had bought the basic product then I think that it would have gone together with no problems but if you go for and additional extras (toughened glass/glazing strips) then you will need more general fitting skills to put it together.”

“Once the greenhouse has been completed its sturdy and looks good. I would point out however that the instructions and pictures are pretty inadequate and unless one has built a similar greenhouse or got one to look at as guide or you are an exceptionally good DIY expert I do not recommend building it yourself. There is one particular point where the instructions tell you to cut the plastic strips which hold the polycarbonate in place which personally I wouldn't recommend doing. I managed to finish this section without any cutting and it worked well.”

“I saw the same greenhouse in our local garden centre nearly double the price. Delivered when it suited us. But my husband is still struggling to get it completed as instructions not very clear. Worth paying extra to have it build by greenhouse stores.”
