I recently purchased Travel assurance for my partner, after we were stranded in Manchester because of French strikes, however the company who deals with claims, obviously do not like to help. Because we made our own arrangements to travel back at great expense, we were not covered by the insurance, because it only covers delays. My niece who works in insurance, tells me the policy is good,( but the small print says it does not cover our situation) To be honest, if the refusal had come a day earlier, I would have sought other insurance companies

We are sorry to hear you had inconvenience caused by the French strikes and in this instance it would seem that your policy did not provide you with cover for this, however, it is good to know that your niece confirms this is a good policy. I always feel that the time to write a review of an insurance company is when one has to make a claim! That's when one sorts the good, from the poor, from the bad, and from the terrible! Hopefully that time will not occur.... ever!

I have been with Globelink for many years, as I've never had to make a claim of any kind I can't really give a rating.

I I live in Ireland and have no way of accessing the UK 0800 Numbers.I am also very deaf and cannot use the phone anyway. Plus,I am not exactly computer literate. So I am very glad that I have established e-mail contact with Jordan Carpenter on your website. He has been very helpful arranging Travel Insurance for four holidays in the last three years,especially as I have a long list of pre-existing conditions. We have used Globelink for a number of years. They have been very efficient in arranging the insurance for us but fortunately we have not had cause to make a claim. We therefore cannot comment on their efficiency should we do so.

Fine - but I did ask for a receipt on headed paper which include details I require for tax purposes and I am still waiting for this.

The website is not the most simple to negotiate and different to go back and add things or to create two different types of insurance in one transaction. It is what it is however in the medical terms some of the more minor illnesse such as controlled blood pressure and maybe controlled diabetes could be covered for with a few limitations.

It is difficult to comment after just buying the policy, When the need arises to make a claim that is when we know how good or bad they are.

One problem when answering the health questionnaire was that we were applying as a couple and have different health histories but there seemed to be only one answer per couple on the on line form...so if either of us had any issue I answered as if it was both of us...this was a bit confusing.

When talking with operator I could hear other people speaking loudly in background which made it difficult to hear what my operator was saying.

We where mostly satisfied with the information we were given over the phone, but I thought we could have been given more information on which insurance would suit us the best. As with a lot of companies you only seem to get back what you put in, by that I mean I ask a question and get a answer to that question, when people ring in it's to obtain more information, this is so we can make the right choices It's not until later when you have filled in all the forms that you think of something else you should have asked? but now it is to late or you just can't be bothered to phone again. We would have still had used the company but possible have felt that we had got the best deal for us. Regards Phil Steeper

Dear Mr.Steeper, We do hope to provide clear information on your policy options both via the telephone or website, we always ask all our customers on delivering the email certificate of insurance to read the certificate of insurance and full policy wording carefully and ensure you understand the cover you have purchased. If you are not entirely satisfied with the policy and it does not meet with your demands under FCA regulations we can cancel the policy during its 14 days cooling off period and give you a full refund of premium.

Dear Mrs. Toms, additional features such as the excess waiver option are offered, if required as part of the purchase, but we do hope that with a simple “No Thanks” option this keeps the Added Cover Options to a minimum.

As a company Globelink are good, but they are let down badly by their support organisations - Mayday Assistance were a nightmare when my late wife was in hospital in Scotland & subsequently died in April this year. They were uncaring & I never did get any payment from my policy, and that sadly reflects on the first point of contact - Globelink. They need to carefully & quickly review their relationship with their third party companies. Until they do, they will suffer through no fault of their own. I certainly would NOT recommend Globelink as currently structured

I cannot comment on Globelink's customer service as I haven't made a claim through them. Suffice it to say that the online application process was fine, their prices are competitive and when I called to request a hard copy of the policy, it arrived promptly. So far so good.

Been very happy with Globelink for the last 3 years. Now my first claim... I was robbed in Italy in April. Claims are managed by Reactive Claims. Sent everything they asked. Told me what it would be covered. I disagreed, and I am right (probably they did not read the police report). August... and still waiting for a response. So... we will see if I am happy or not. It is easy to be happy when there are no problems.
