Ordered two pairs of glasses over 2 weeks ago it took them several days to tell me they couldn't do them as the prescription was 3 months out of date ,fair enough, but after numerous emails regarding a refund I finally got an answer saying I would have to wait up to 15 working days for money to be refunded ,absolute joke

Initially I was very impressed with the idea of Glasses Direct, and I loved the choice of frames. It’s unfortunate that when I eventually received my glasses, I couldn’t see because the alignment wasn’t right and the prescription on the right lense was also wrong. I returned them weeks ago after a very costly phone call, but I’ve heard nothing. You just get an automated email, which they don’t follow up. I’m very disappointed with their lack of communication and their bad customer service.

I found customer service and delivery good. I purchased some frames from the Boutique range so not particularly cheap. I now have no fringe left! My hair is constantly catching between the front frame and arm. Been wearing glasses for years but never had this.

I broke my varifocals and needed a replacement fast. So I ordered them from glasses Direct, due to discount offer. What a mistake! After entering my CORRECT! prescription into the system, it took them a week to contact me regarding the need of a physical prescription, signed by my doctor. (not a problem, the law is the law) So I sent it in. My prescription includes Far/ Near and ADD. It took them another week to confirm. Another to make the glasses. Then another to ship. So after almost 5 weeks of me being nearly blind, I received glasses that ended up being all wrong! Even though I initially gave them the correct measurements AND added the prescription from my doctor upon request, somehow NO ONE stumbled over the fact that for my left eye they used measurements given for NEAR SIGHT right eye (reading glasses) ?? How is that possible? Especially when I myself had added the measurements correctly into the system BEFORE the wonderful "confirmation" of the prescription through glasses Direct. Now I had to sent yet another Email, which wont be answered in a timely fashion and will be going into the Christmas holidays nearly blind. Calling them is not even an option, since calls made from Germany to the UK are extremely expensive! I sure hope that I won't be asked to return the wrong glasses on my dime, before they even consider sending out correct ones. Not only am I not willing to pay for their mistake, but it will also delay me being able to see again! Big thumbs down!

The glasses arrived promptly and I thought the frames were attractive and good quality. However, I couldn't see anything through them! When trying to read all I could see was white paper with grey rectangles that I took to be paragraphs. I got my money back but then started an email exchange saying that I would gladly buy again if they could get the prescription right. They made no attempt to do this and even blamed the optician (I have other glasses on the same prescription with no problem). Very disappointed.

Just demanded refund of the money that they took up front for my order. They didn’t have a web site as user friendly as mister specs ( you can attach your prescription photo straight away. I had to send it after paying & because I had cropped & attached the photo to my orders with other spec providers I binned the paper copy. Direct Specs wouldn’t take my start until I submitted a prescription with the date on . I twice had to email before getting a refund. I work full time for NHS & can’t be doing with the hassle of arranging to get a copy of my prescription. Won’t use them again.

Though I got confused by the overwhelmingly negative reviews here, yet took a shot and it paid off very well. Both of my ordered glasses have been delivered on time and in excellent condition. Don't get confused by the reviews, excellent value for money.

I have now sent several queries email to glasses direct an order placed and paid for on the a month ago. They were keen enough to take the £300 but seemingly not interested in to reply to my questions – simple question what is the current status of the order, if you can not fulfil it then cancel and refund the order ?. no reply and. No reply on the Phone and no refund. They used to be good but I will not be using them again as communications is poor and you have to be carful as headline costs escalate when you add "extras" - cheaper and better service from independent can be obtained from independents on the high street

Ordered two pairs of sunglasses for £22. One to be plain lenses one to be prescription after 23 days both arrived plain. Think that shipping times have all been effected by Covid they must have their labs abroad I guess. Not too impressed with frames I could have bought plain sunglasses a lot cheaper elsewhere. Actually I have just ordered a pair for £1 expected delivery 10 days. Glasses Direct accepted straight away they had made a mistake. Only way I can resolve issue is to send them back... Simple I hear you say...but I'm shielded and can't visit the post office until it's safe and I'm not going to ask someone else to take the risk for £22..... But I can't have them replaced until I get to the post office they tell me I have 90 days to get around to it. A lot of businesses have made exceptions during covid but not Glasses Direct it appears. It would be crazy of me to take risks for £22 so I won't be bothering but don't use them if you are old fashioned like me and expect their fault to remain their fault and not become yours.

Placed an order in mid may and have still not even been given an accurate ETA for the delivery. Was initially told that there will be a 2-3 week delay from the usual time of 1-2 weeks - I am not a mathematician but i'm pretty sure if you add 2-3 weeks to 1-2 weeks you do not get 7+weeks! I am extremely disappointed that they have subsequently flagged my review to Trustpilot in order to have it removed despite me giving only the facts.

I placed my order on the 13th of June, by the 3rd of July I emailed on four separate occasions for an update on my order but I did not get one reply. Today the 6th of July I tried to contact them by telephone, I was left listening to music for over 20 minutes at international rates before hanging up. Thankfully I paid by pay pal and I cancelled my order this morning. Within an hour I was notified by pay pal they had accepted my request for a refund. Amazing they replied to PayPal within an hour but failed to reply to me for almost a month. Also to note I have not received as much as an apology for a disgusting and unprofessional service. I ordered prescription sunglasses two pairs for 22 pounds on offer on 24th June. I put my prescription on the page on my account. I got 3 emails asking for it, although it was still on. So I sent them details and took photos three times to get the order sorted out. I tried to ring and was on hold for hours. They don't answer the phone and you are charged for the call due to the tape they play. Now I just checked my order and they say it is in the lab, but they have given it a new number and doubled the price. I think they are going to say it went past the offer.....but they are not getting away with that. ...it still shows I ordered within the offer time and that the price is 22 pounds and not 42. I have been a customer for years, but if they play tricks like this I won't be a customer any more.

Almost a month and still no glasses. Customer service was not helpful either told just to to wait as they have been dispatched, but could take a further 10 days. Was told up to 17 days as they are basic lenses but way past this. Will not use again.

I placed an order of almost £160 in mid May (2020 so with Corona I expected delays) on the 30th of May I got an email saying it was out for delivery and should arrive in 1-3 business days (again I expected corona related delays). I still hadn't received the glasses by the 14th June, so I called customer service, having waited 35 mins on hold to speak to someone I found out they do not track the deliveries with Royal mail (which is ridiculous considering prescription glasses cost a lot). I was told they would send me a lost in post form via email so they could make a new pair and send it out. When the email turned up there was no attachment. I emailed them back informing them of this and the email was sent again but was again missing the attachment. This time I contacted them via Twitter as I didnt want to wait on hold for over 30 mins again, they did send me the lost in post form this way. Thankfully the glasses did turn up on the 16th of June. Honestly I don't think I will use glasses direct again

PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN ORDERING - LOTS OF PRICES AND DEALS QUOTED ON WEBSITE, CAN BE MISLEADING AS IT IS NOT MADE CLEAR THAT THE SECOND PAIR THEY ARE OFFERING ARE ONLY SINGLE LENSES. We order from their 2 for 1 package, which offered a free second pair, plus we received a Thank you for subscribing which offered us another £33.00 off. When order received only one pair varifocals (we paid extra when ordering for the varifocal lenses). The other pair was just plain lenses and they were the wrong lenses completely, I could not even see through them !! These were returned and a new pair of varifocals was promised to replace them. Then I received an email requesting further payment for the second pair of varifocals. At no time during the purchase process did it explain that we had only order and paid for one pair of varifocals. This was not made clear on the order confirmation or on subsequent emails requesting details of our prescription and varifocal distancing etc., When I went through the purchase procedure online with each option we requested varifocal lenses for both pairs, I had no idea I was only going to receive one pair of varifocal lenses. The website needs to make this clearer to customers, I have now waited several weeks for the order to be completed only to be required to pay extra for the second varifocal lenses glasses. As a new customer I am very disappointed with my order and the demand for further payment.
