Fast to answer sales calls, very substandard at everything else, especially claims. This is NOT a real insurance company, they're an agent so get in the way of anything.

After an accident caused by another driver at the beginning of January I have had absolutely no update on what is happening with my car. I have had to do all the ringing round and still don't know where my car is or what is happening! No reply to emails, phone calls etc... i do however have a courtesy car. It's been over a month now and I've given up so will be using this car until they contact me 😠 do not use this company!!!

Would leave 0 stars if I could. Thieves who constantly threaten cancellation I wish I checked reviews before I purchased. Voluntary cancellation costed £250.

Poor customer service. No communication. Hours spent on the phone to be fobbed off repeatedly and still no repair. My 3rd part is faring no better.

I went with the RAC for peace of mind - oh boy was that a mistake. I had to claim after a road accident and I ended dealing with 4 different companies. RAC for 2 minutes initially, Markerstudy, Copart Claims and Vizion. I had to make every phone call to find out what was happening. My car was written off and taken 200 miles away from where I live without telling me and before I had the initial settlement offer. All in all a complete farce and I would NEVER EVER use the RAC again. Typical company who take your money and do sod all for it.

When I wanted to have my insurance, they were so pleased offering. However, when I sold my car and bought a new one, they told me to cancel my policy. Today I called them and discovered I could change my approach for another vehicle. I am a student; I paid 150 for cancellation. This was like stealing! When I told them about this, they told me they were sorry! Don't trust them anyway. Very very unsatisfied with them.

Ask what happens to your courtesy car when your car is written off. RAC will accept an offer without consulting you. Will post you a settlement cheque without using BACS. Withdraw your courtesy car days before cheques arrive leaving you car less and funds less. By the when if you appeal against settlement amount make sure you get your car back. They sold my car while I was still negotiating settlement.

Was phoning to report a accident and was on hold 30 mins then cut off. The stress of an accident is enough but then to be on hold for this length of time and then cut off is beyond words.

Absolutely diabolical service! 😡 After my Mother recently had an accident, the RAC who she pays her premium to immediately fobbed her off to the underwriters Markerstudy and washed their hands of anything to do with it. Markerstudy has been an absolute nightmare to deal with and even though she was fully comprehensive we are still without a settlement payment or a vehicle 6 weeks later! I lodged a complaint with the RAC some 3 weeks a go but that appears to have fell on deaf ears as well! Will never use the RAC again even though my Parents have been insured with them for the best part of 20 years now! 😡

I have been driving for last 22 years. I have never been experienced with such a worst insurance company. If this remains the only insurance company i will stop driving. Never ever go with RAC insurance.

Absolutely disgusting, don't use these liar's. Bought two car insurance policies and when asked for my £25 M&S vouchers told that my partner had done hers online so didn't qualify, yes right, she sat on the phone in front of me and her mother and paid in full, total liar's, con artists. Don't use this company.

My 81yr mother has been waiting a month for someone to contact her regarding repair of her vehicle. Please people of Britain refrain from using this disgraceful company for your insurance, put these jokers out of business.

My insurance policy start in September. In 26 Dec sent me a letter in post not email witch said until 2 Jan to sent some documents. I received letter in post in 5 Jan. In 3 jan Rac cancel my policy and charge me for cancellation even if 4 jan I sent all my documents after I call em. Don't make insurance on rac!!

At 16.48 today (31/12/2022) A car driving on the wrong side of the road smashed the wing mirror off my brand new car (5 weeks old) the driver then sped away, speaking to your phone line I was then advised that they could help me possibly on Tuesday/Wednesday (3rd/4th January) No car because of damage, according to cover you provide 365 a year cover..... Explain to me why that is not the case

We are a family of four, with a 9 month old and a 2 year old. We broke down on the motorway, and RAC simply didn’t come through. It was quite simply one of the most scary helpless situations I’ve ever been in. Whilst on the hard shoulder in the dark, rain and mud with our young children we rang 3 times to be told help was coming, when in reality it just didn’t come. Please please don’t sign up to RAC.

my daughter was a named driver on my policy and passed her test yesterday. This invalidated our entire policy. Even I am not insured to drive now. To add her as a full license holder was unaffordable (£3K) so said I would take her off whilst shopping around for best quotes. This was going to cost £77 (25 admin + 52 increase to my policy?!?!?!? how can one less driver increase the premium when there are no other changes?) So I cancelled immediately. Brilliant in-person customer service team. terrible, fleece merchant company.

Appalling service. You wait for long enough to get through. They farm out your claim to "sub contractors" and service is so slow with no singke point of contact to tell you what's going on. Car not uplifted for 11 days after bump, and bloke tried to get me to sign car over to insurance company on the basis that "it's an old car. They'll write it off". Even then, some other company has to inspect it, but latest information is " they are 2 weeks behind". This is ludicrous from a company like RAC. Accident not even my fault, as other party held their hands up to it. Now I'm left with the hassle. Do not under any circumstances use RAC insurance

Really poor service since paying a deposit for insurance. RAC sent 2 letters threatening to cancel insurance due to black box not having been fitted, AFTER it had been fitted. They also threatened to cancel insurance due to a claim on a no fault claim which never took place. I called to speak to them and had to pay £35 for a change to the policy due to a claim that never happened!! The phone call took 1 hour 15 mins to complete. Really rude service from the ‘advisor’ too. Overall a truly dreadful experience. DO NOT USE RAC CAR INSURANCE. 🙈

I have black box insurance. I thought RAC being the best rated one that I would have a nice easy journey with them. However, there is absolutely no hope for people who have a black box, other than to call people if you have issues with the black box insurance. Nothing online, nothing anywhere, even if there is a link to a help page for black box it’s rundown and empty pages. I had an issue with the installation of the black box itself, and I spent 3 hours trying to find a phone number to receive help from. After the 3 hours, I seemed to have found a black box insurance phone number, wasn’t I silly, the nice man on the phone said this number no longer operates for black box, so I got given another number to call, bet you can guess what happened there, that happened 5 times until it was finally solved, 2 hours after calling and calling. I opted to have breakdown cover with my insurance, turns out I couldn’t use it until my black box was installed, however I needed assistance with my engine. So I had to sign up for a new breakdown cover. Requested help, told I’d have to wait an acceptable 3 hours, that 3 hours tuned into 14 hours. They sent out a third party mechanic, who was absolutely lovely. He was waiting since 6.30am to have a call out, I was his first customer of the day. Why was I waiting so long?! Choose RAC at your own risk. Unless I’m offered a great deal with renewal then I probably wouldn’t choose RAC again.

I would give a minus 1 if possible . My car has been in the car pound since it skidded on the M1 last Thursday 15 December. Have rang every day to various numbers to find out when it will be moved to the garage. No one has had any idea , this morning I insisted that I should talk to a manager and was told they don’t know which garage it will be sent to and probably won’t be moved now until the New Year . Despite the accident being 8 days ago. They also will not give me a courtesy car until it reaches a garage and then only if one is available. I also paid to protect my No claims bonus (8 years ) but I’m losing that too as my car skidded on ice . No one has a clue what they are doing. Do not use this company they are absolute rubbish . DO NOT USE RAC !!!!
