After insuring home with The Post Office for 2 years, we get a letter saying that they are unable to quote for next year. Ring customer services to find out why and wait ages to be connected and then they are unable to tell me why. Useless.

They charged me twice for home insurance renewal, a payment of £123 which I was aware of but a second payment of £346 was also charged. Initially they couldn't trace this, then they advised to contact bank and tell them this is fraud, which I did. Then, a further 3 calls and a lot of time wasted and threatening letters telling me that they will send a debt collector. I call them again, after about an hour they finally admit they don't know where this payment of 346 came from and assure that I won't be getting another call from them. I do get a call from them asking me to pay them back the money and the cycle has started once more, now with further added lies. I am not sure where or who to take this to. Never will I take out a policy with this cowboy outfit ever again.

I just signed a contract for a Post Office broadband. The internet speed is extremely poor and the router range is just few metres. I will complain and try to get back my money.

Took out home insurance for my daughter which seemed to be good value, never had to claim so not sure if they are any good if there are any problems. However they automatically renew the policy each year and it is virtually impossible to stop the renewal. When you phone up you spend 15 minutes on an automated system but cannot get through to a person to confirm. Took me 51 phone calls and about five hours to get through and still no email to confirm policy has been cancelled. Had to go to bank to put a stop on any more direct debits coming out.

I don't know what's wrong with these people. My wife was acutely unwell with a new illness 10 weeks ago. We had THREE small holidays booked in quick succession which we had to cancel. Post Office use a claims management company. They have been very SLOW. They are slow to actually answer emails. Ten weeks into our claim, they suddenly decided that they wanted yet MORE proof of what we had paid. Why didn't they see this at the beginning? Probably because they hadn't bothered to look at the claim. Also, getting in touch with the Post Office itself results in holding emails which have NEVER been answered. We want to know if we still have cover for our next planned holiday. No reply. Frankly, I have no confidence in Post Office insurance at all. If one were acutely unwell when abroad I think one would be left to flounder and sort things out for oneself. AVOID +++

I had an awful time with the Post Office. Firstly, beware about the Home Emergency Policy. In the small print oil boilers are excluded. Putting in a claim is awful too. Home Emergency is a different company from home/buildings so as such you're dealing with two separate companies, none of which are the Post Office. A small straight forward claim that involved the HE engineer, took over 7 months to be processed after much interrogation, photos, quote after quote being provided which was never good enough. Eventually escalated to management and got it resolved, but staff were unhelpful and sometimes unpleasant. I would NOT recommend the Post Office/ARAG

Cancelled my policy twice even know it was their fault as they were sending correspondence to an address that was 5 years old. Sent the same forms that I had returned several times. TERRIBLE SERVICE DON’T GO NEAR.

Post office contents insurance......from £8.09 a month it skyrocketed to £14.43 a month when it was time for renewal.I had made no claim and no reason for the price increase was given.Needless to say I cancelled the policy and went elsewhere. ..back down to £8 with other insurer.Same poor service as their post office counters. They are not what they used to be

The post office insured my bike. When I cancelled the policy within a month the administration charge came to over 90% of the premium. Rip off!!

Worst service ever!! I took their policy but after one year they automatically renew even though you did not opt for it. My premium doubled after renewal. I waited nearly 35 minutes to get to speak to one of their customer services team to cancel my policy. I am not definitely not going with them ever.

Shameful. Had to cancel a holiday due to unforeseen health issues. After paying £30 for a doctor to complete the documentation required to try to claim back my £70 deposit I realised they wanted a signed declaration giving them permission to delve into my medical records as far back as 5 years and that they would then share all such information with any other providers. I have not pursued the claim as I feel this is an unnecessary intrusion into my personal medical records. It should be sufficient that the doctor provides all relevant details and I certainly would not endorse giving anyone permission to share such personal information as they feel fit. I would not recommend this provider nor will I ever use them again.

East Ardsley, Bradford Road. Wakefield. The staff are clueless, either that or corrupt. prices for the same item to be posted change on a daily basis and they do not have any knowledge of any of the services they provide, Nosey and ignorant. JUST A SHAME ZERO IS NOT AN OPTION.

I would give zero if I could, be careful you are set to auto-renew and you can't take it off online, if you do it over the phone it may not be done. I believe strongly I had asked this to be done over the phone, they say not, I couldn't remove it so they took the money, my bank did a reversal so I could pay a new insurer, they finally sent a refund, the first within one day I had received threatening letters about it being passed over to the debt collecting agency, I paid them back and sorted in one day later, they have now done a reversal with my bank taking the money again. Spoken to them today and they have no record of having my money, the bank won't put my money back in. No one is in a rush to sort this and refund me my money. I have taken it to the financial ombudsman who are supporting me.

I have to compliment the ladies who serve at the post office counter in Dumbarton. I was served by Elizabeth today who was most helpful in dealing with my needs. I have had similar experiences in the past so decided to put it in writing.

I had an issue with my door and couldn't get into my property so I called a locksmith. I needed a new Security multi-point lock system which had completely failed. I dug out my Post Office Policy - this is where I found that there is no emergency number to ring - the same number covers car insurance as well and takes quite a while to get though. Anyway, on my first call on that day, I was led to believe it would all be ok and should proceed until I knew the exact price of the repair. When the repair was completed some days later, however, and I had paid the locksmith a total of £508 ( a bit pricey I thought!), I was told the policy did not cover the failure of the security multi-point lock system REALLY? I know other insurance companies do as I had a similar experience once before and was fully reimbursed. I have since cancelled my Post Office policy and gone elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend Post Office Home insurance to anyone.

If you thought your local Post Office was bad, then just try the Temple Fortune one in NW11. What used to be a busy little shop is now hardly used by the community as the staff are so rude and unhelpful. You will never get a smile, and communication is brief and snappily delivered. The community chat line has alerted everyone to the situation and most people have found alternatives where they can. Shame, it was once a nice place.....how about some staff training, beginning with how to be pleasant to customers.

Hi I was in post office on the last Monday for gething my parcel as i missed it. It was on Garrison place in Falkirk. The post man was rude with me he push me down in the front of a queue and said loudly what nationality I was and if other people from the queue could understand me. The one lady from the queue approched and explained me where i can get my parcel. In fact, my English is not my the first language but i speak well. I have been in Scotland for 10 years and it happened with me the first time. I was discriminated by the post man from Garrison place in FALKIRK
