Had a minor car accident which was not my fault. Phoned LV first question was is every one ok? which was good cars can be repaired people take longer. Had a phone call after to go through the claim very easy to deal with was informed within a few hours that my car would be repaired FOC was up-graded on the loan vehicle and was kept informed of all progress. Car now back looking as good as new. Many thanks

LIVERPOOL VICTORIA - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. My 2024 experience - dreadful. Home Insurance with Storm Damage. Garden boundary wall partially collapsed in storm while pummelled with winds of 75 mph - refused to cover claim for a variety of reasons which included... they had looked on Google Maps and it is an "old wall"; has had previous repairs on it (no, only maintenance actually!) and no other wall nearby blown down (not true either). They are happy to take your money for several years for old walls and properties - without telling you they will not honour any claim though. You think you are fully covered - until you need their help. I would give them zero stars if it was an option. Am now elsewhere.

On the 9th November 2023 I had a non fault accident in Shanklin, Isle of Wight. My car being 2012 VW Beetle and the other car drivers car was 2009 Ford Focus. The other driver in the Focus went through a give way sign and resulted in me going into the side of his car. The next day I contacted my insurance company who was the AA. I was told the accident was not my fault and I would be provided with a courtesy car through Eurocar. A car was going to be provided for me and delivered on the Saturday (11th November 2023). I was also told during the conversation that my car was going to be picked up by Premier Ford in Newport the Friday afternoon. During the afternoon of the 10th 2 gentlemen arrived at my property to pick up my car. They arrived in a courtesy car which I thought would be a straight swap; they take my car and I would have the courtesy car. Well I was wrong! On the Saturday (11th November) a car was suppose to be delivered to my address at approximately midday and coming from Southampton. Midday came and went but no car. Eventually I phoned Eurocar regarding the hire car because one should have be delivered but no one had arrived yet. I was told that a car would not be coming today and that I would probably not get one until Tuesday but mostly likely Wednesday. I explained that I need my car for work and I was told I would have one on the Saturday. The Eurocar employee couldn’t understand why I was told the incorrect information. I then contacted the AA to explain the situation, I was told there was nothing they could do. I received no communication regarding not having a car delivered I had to contact them. After contacting the AA and Eurocar on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to try and source a courtesy car to no avail I finally received a courtesy car on the 14th. I went 5 days without a car due to living on the Isle of Wight. This meant I could not go to work which meant I didn’t get paid due to being self-employed. I was offered £50 in compensation to close my complaint, I declined the offered and continued with my complaint. I received a reply which I was not satisfied with so took it to the Ombudsman which resulted in an offer £250 in compensation. On the 24th November the AA decided to write off my car and felt that my car was not financially viable to fix. I found this upsetting but I accepted it. My claim was then closed by the AA and passed over to Liverpool Victoria as the underwriters. The AA will continue to provide the courtesy car via Eurocar. On the same day I contacted LV to find out what would happen to my car now. The LV employee asked again what happened to cause the accident, where it happened etc. LV went on to explain to me that it looks like my car could be repaired and would be transferred from Premier Ford in Newport to Autofix in Cowes. On the afternoon of the 24th my car was taken to the LV approved garage in Cowes. Over the coming weeks leading up to Christmas I had to constantly chase LV and Autofix for information regarding my car. Every time I contacted the garage I was told that they were waiting for parts. I found the staff at Autofix extremely rude and not willing to tell me anything regarding my car as I was not there customer, LV were as the insurance company. I was also told it was due to data protection even though it was my car. The only way I knew anything about my car was a weekly text from AA and an email from Eurocar to extend my car hire. No communication from LV or Autofix. Over the coming months of January and February I would phone LV regularly to find out any information regarding my car. I was constantly being told that they were waiting for parts. The parts for my car seemed to be taking a long time so I contacted Volkswagen to find out how long it would take them to get the specific parts, I was told approximately 2 weeks. I also looked online to find out how quickly I could get the parts, that was at least a week. During February the light at the end of the tunnel seemed to be getting nearer and I was told my car is nearly fix. I even booked my car in for an MOT as this was due to expire on the 13th February. In fact 3 times I booked my car in as I was told I was getting my car back but had to cancel all of them as my car still had problems. When I was told my car was fixed Autofix told me that all that they had to do was carry out a wheel alignment. On the 14th February the garage carried out the wheel alignment which resulted in 3 different results. This meant that my car needed to go to another garage for a second opinion which was booked in for the morning of the 15th February. The second opinion showed that my car needed half the suspension replacing. All this work was carried out and my car then went for another wheel alignment on the 6th March. This geometry test showed that my car was still not safe to drive. Over the next few weeks I constantly chased the insurance company and I’ve asked numerous times for my car to be written off but this falls of deaf ears and LV continue to throw money at my car even though they keep finding things wrong with it. As of 4th April the cost of repairing my car along with the courtesy car. Repair of my car – approximately £5,000 Cost of the hire car - £7,400 The time it’s taken so far to repair my car 20 weeks and still on going. The amount my car is worth - £8,000-£9,000 The total cost so far for the repair is £12,400 which exceeds the amount that my car is worth. I’ve spoken to numerous staff within the Claims Team and David the engineer who has been inspecting my car. I’ve explained to them numerous times that they have exceed the amount that my car is worth. They have tried to argue this as they are unaware how much the hire car costs are due to the fact that they are not providing the car and the AA is still taking care of that side of things. I have also explained that my car was originally written off by the AA but they seemed to be unaware of that as well. I have also raised my concerns with LV that the other car drivers insurance will not pay this due to the high costs. I have been reassured that AXA has confirmed that they accept liability for all the costs of the repairs to my car and the cost of the hire car while my car is being repaired. I’ve put in a formal complaint to LV regarding the problems I’ve had regarding repairing my car. I was offered £100 to close the complaint which I declined as I felt that was a complete insult. As of the 8th April I am still waiting for a reply from LV regarding my complaint. I even contacted LV on the 12th March to request for the complaints handler to contact me regarding my complaint but I still have not heard from them. The last contact I had with LV was when David (LV Engineer) phoned me on the 25th March 2024 to discuss my concerns about my car. I am writing this to warn people about the awful experience I have had with this insurance company.

Please do not use LV. They have been taking money from me for over 3 years and when I put in a health claim and provided the documentation and evidence required, they have found every way to make me feel terrible..They have been consistently rude, non sensitive and unprofessional.. please stay clear of this scam of a company! They are fraudulent and look for ways not to bother with a claim! Yet they are quick to take monthly payments!

Don't bother wasting your hard earned money on buying IP insurance from them as they'll happily take your money then leave you with nothing when you want to make a claim. I decided to purchase income protection insurance after I became a dad and my partner moved to part time as my employer only pays ssp and wanted to be sure I can support my family financialy if I'm ever unable to work. Due to family issues I developed mental health problems and was signed off work so decided to make a claim with LV, over 2 months later and I still haven't seen a penny from them. I provided everything they asked for, sick note, gp reports, they were supposed to get back to me in couple of days then another couple of days and so on, I called them 2 weeks ago and asked for an update, begged them to get back to me before Easter as we literally can't afford to pay for our mortgage, bills and food. The only reason I bought this insurance was to be able to support my family and then here I am unable to give my son nice Easter, my mental health has detoriated even more, I didn't have financial issues when I got signed off work, now I do, I had to borrow money from friends and family and take a short term loan on a stupidly high interest, had to do all the things I wanted to avoid by buying this insurance. They said they're sorry to hear that and that they'll get back to me by Thursday last week. Thursday afternoon came and still nothing, called them for an update only to be told that the assesor who looked into my claim has gone home already! Well I hope she had a nice Easter leaving home without getting back to me as promissed and ruining mine. I still don't know when or if they will get back to me. I'm disgusted with the way they treated me, they know that I am already suffering with mental health, I contacted them number of times to tell them the way they treat me make my issues even worse and they just blatantly ignored me. I feel like an idiot now believing that you can feel safe when you have income protection insurance, you can't, you just pay for nothing and you can only count on yourself as LV doesn't give a toss about you!

The home emergency assist is the worst ever with this insurance. If your tap is broken and you cannot stop the water, they do not get the tap replaced. If there is a water leak and the source is not visible, home emergency does not try to stop the leakage. Be aware of useless home emergency assistance service with this insurance.

Had our car broken into earlier in the year ( No Fault of ours) We weren’t told this would affect our no claim or that we would be classed as at fault. Also insurance wouldn’t pay for the things that were taken because they weren’t in the boot . Really not happy because I would have rather paid than have a at fault marked against us .

Stay clear of this scam of a company!! Been insured with them for nearly 4 years! Bumped into the back of a learner back in January (5mph no damage)took photos of the accsident at the time four months later the claimant has decided they would like to make a claim! Sent a load of photos of Car , completely destroyed and blamed me! With this in mind, the location of the incident was incorrect and the make a model of the car, but yet still accepted the claim and put it down as a fault incident on my behalf!! Did not defend me at all, nor was I even contacted to be informed of the shambles!!! Have now taken this to the financial ombudsman services and will be taking them to court if necessary! Disgraceful company

A few years back now but very poor experience. Claim which was not my fault other parties insurance threatened to take me to court as LV did not respond to them. Unhelpful calls to Lv and then a court summons. Finally LV responded and it was resolved. Even if quote is competitive it’s not worth it if when you need to claim you get this sort of poor service.

They take advantage of people that are too busy or too lazy to gather quotes from competitors. It’s disadvantageous to be loyal to any insurance company in today’s world. Inertia will cost you money. Moving every year will save money but takes effort and time.

LV were brilliant They listened, they dealt with the accident quickly and the culprits insurance was made to pay quickly. LV sent me a cheque after their preferred garage quoted repair costs and I found a closer garage to do the repair work, whim I know and trust. I cannot praise LV enough.

Now THIS is a website where reviews are legit as my family had a horrible experience with these crooks. If you are on Trust Pilot and see all those 5 Star reviews, do not listen to them as they are most likely bots or people that work for them. My family was with LV for a long time on house insurance and they suddenly phoned to say that they are not providing us anymore and didn't give us any reason either... The best about it is that our neighbour is with LV and she still gets it OK, we even appealed the decision and the best thing that these crooks could do is send us to another company that charges an arm and a leg for home insurance. Stay away from these crooks at all costs!

Absolutely disgusting customer service. This company clearly support fraud. Rude horrible advisors who speak to people like trash. Nothing but jumped up telephone advisors. Complain and get a long boring email from their equally rude manager. Steer clear they are useless.

Had my renewal notice, 35% increase in premiums, I’ve never claimed! So I looked for online quotes and moved to Admiral saving over £200! Really annoyed by being so let down by the LV after many years with them.

After approx. 20 years home insurance cover -paying out over £10k in premiums for 2 or 3 minor claims I receive a brief letter saying they would not be renewing my policy with no explanation. I phoned and got no further info other than being told it was the underwriters decision to drop a number of properties and it was not personally related to my home. I used to think they were a good, trustworthy company but something has dramatically changed. They want to fob me off to an American corporate firm Gallaghers -I presume so they don't have to quote an excessively high rise in premium given the large climate related payouts. Perhaps understandable but a disaster for customer relations and the reputation of a formerly fine company.
