Customer service awful, basically accused me if telling lies. CEO couldn't be bothered to reply to my complaint, so so happy when taking your money though, too high up the corporate ladder to speak with a lowly customer.

Crooks, tried to double my insurance. Tried to cancel, had to go through a 15 minute phone call to cancel. Then told I had to pay them £25 cancellation fee, despite being within the law of 14 day refund policy. They said they would take payment out of my bank, they did not, so sent a recovery agency after me. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a once reputable company.

Keep well away from these scammers. Wha they do is say that they have sent out 5 renewal notices. Which you have ignored. Then Dept Collection agents try to force you to pay the money. But is has been noted that no renewal letters were sent out. 1 IGNORE the So called Dept Collection agency. 2 Then inform the Insuarance refrence agency. 3 You will then here no more from these scums.

Admiral are a bad, hostile company, masters of sharp practice. cannot be trusted one bit. You are inviting trouble if you use them. We had an important house cover policy, (P67681414-to prove this is genuine) the card used for automatic renewals expired while we were on a months holiday. they sent a letter instead of an e mail which, obviously we could not see. When we got back, we found the policy had been cancelled and we were charged £50 ''administration'' fee, which they have put into the hands of a debt collection company, who are now harassing us. we made an attempt to pay to restart the policy, and were told they had cancelled it. We attempted to obtain a new policy from them, were connected to a foreign operator who could not be understood, after spending an hour on the phone, we were cut off and did not bother to call us back. Not the actions of a decent or responsible company. I have since noticed that they appear to be liaising with dubious reviewers, in an attempt to make The company appear better than it really is, which is all they can do now, to appear trustworthy.

I’d rate them 0 stars if I could! What a terrible experience with Admiral car insurance! I unfortunately crashed and wrote off my car while being insured with Admiral. They told me to call them up once I had found a replacement vehicle to make sure they don’t cancel the wrong insurance policy when I switch it over. I did exactly what they said, even confirmed with the agent that my new car’s policy would not be cancelled. (They cancel your insurance policy when your vehicle is deemed a total loss). I decided to double check my coverage, only to find they had indeed cancelled my new car’s insurance and I had been driving for 20hours without any cover! They didn’t even send me an email stating they had cancelled it, so good thing I checked! When it came to arranging a settlement figure for my vehicle they deducted the remaining amount I had to pay for my year insurance. They then tried to also take it out of my account (£762.51!), trying to charge me twice for the policy! They didn’t send me any notification of this transaction either, I was just lucky my banking app notified me as I wouldn’t have known and it would have taken me overdrawn. They told me to cancel the direct debit my end as they could not stop the payment from their end. I did exactly what they told me (also got written proof from them that they told me to do so) however they still continued to chase me for the money that I DID NOT OWE. They confirmed I indeed do not owe the money. Admiral then went on to send £762.51 over to my finance company without my permission then proceeded to chase me for the money yet again. I did not owe Admiral any money at this point and I had already rearranged my monthly payments with my finance company. They then emailed me a formal default letter telling me that my insurance will be cancelled on the 12th December 2023 if I do not pay the money to them. This has also affected my credit rating despite them reassuring me that it will not. The customer services team do not communicate with the claims team whatsoever and this has become very apparent in my dealings with this company. I have submitted a formal complaint which was “closed” without them informing me of any resolution. I had to reopen a new complaint which is currently still open but they are not doing anything about the default letter or the fact my insurance could be cancelled in less than 2 weeks time. I am truly disgusted with this company and I seriously suggest for anyone who is thinking about using them to reconsider.

Just spent over 45 minutes talking to a call centre operator in India. It was the most terrible experience I've had for a very long time. I was asked the same questions about date of birth and postcode 5 times. There were about 5 more people talking in the background. Be warned, it's not good.

Getting a feedback or even following up on a claim is really frustrating. When I call, I get transferred from one department to the other, with each department asking the same question. Admiral is not keen on providing good customer experience just out to get premium.

This is a scam establishment. I have reported a claim involving my insured Mercedes EQC 400 for the past 12 days. I have made several calls and even involved their complaints department and liability for a courtesy car has been pushed for many days between their appointed repairs garage and Admiral. Even though the response has not been timely, they eventually asked another second car hire to reach out but those ones are so daft enough to offer me a Volkswagen golf or similar. This is how they renege on contracts and when you fail their premiums they threaten brimstone if possible end your life. I have now declined on this car type and that simply is no courtesy car for me which is what they hope for at the beginning.

A bit more expensive than other insurers but the service is great and you can amend the policy quickly and easily via your account on the website

Absolutely disgusted with this company. After receiving a quote online for £466 for my dads van cover. Having to go away and prove his last two accidents were non-fault of his from 2-3 years ago, they had the cheek to change his quote to over £700 and had the cheek to ask if we wanted to go ahead. When I said absolutely NO, they wanted me to add further other insurance with them to "get the price down" as we give you more money to reduce the policy price. RIP OFF, merchants. and to claim because he had an accident in the last few years we live in a high-risk area! What BS.... one was in a supermarket which he fixed privately and the other was someone reversed into him. We do not live in a high-risk area. Insurance companies are using any excuse to up the cost of insurance policies to customer. Disgraceful!

After 4 years of being with them, they want to renew my policy by adding £400 something extra, for being a "platinum" member. Bear in mind I had no accidents. I called yesterday to renew my policy and I got a quote which I accepted. This morning I wake up to an email saying my policy renewal will be £400 extra so I call back just to be told they're sorry but that quote was actually for last year and it was a mistake. Outrageous! How is this even possible?! Thanks Admiral, I'll be moving to a new company!

This complaint went to your underwriters and they said No!!! They only cover Humans not dogs ( My dog along with 90% of the human population is a family member) It wasn't as though the dogs operation was a small operation to stop me going on my holiday. It was a major operation from an unexpected accident which the vet said he could be paraplegic and after a 5 hour operation he needed 24 hr care from me. Sam I have been in touch about this before about my travel insurance with you. And you said No! I want other customers to see that Admiral take your money then won't pay out when a MAJOR!!!! Catastrophic Accident happened with my dog which prevented me from travelling. Would you have left him? He needed 24hr care. Discusting!!! We are a nation of dog lovers. They are human to us and a very big part of my family. Date of experience: 13 September 2023

This has got to be the worst Insurance provider. They do not care about the customer. My car was hit by another driver - which is a non fault - admiral advised that my car would be repaired - this was sent to the repair company which is called Mitchell inglis.. they have had the car for over 2.5 months now. I got a text from admiral two weeks ago that the part for the car was on order and that once here will be advised - I also spoke to the repairer and admiral who advised that a brand new bumper was ordered as this is what was needed for the car. So I said this is ok. I then got a text today to state that my car will be fixed by next week - so called the repairer and I was absolutely shocked to here this - they advised that admiral had called this this morning to advise to speed this process up and to not get a new bumper and to just do a temporary repairs on the bumper - I got advised by the repairer that they are doing a temporary repair as per the insurer. I advised that I was not informed of a temporary repair and that I should have been consulted as I was told on each occasion that a new bumper was being put on. I also advised that if the car was repairable then why was this not repaired instantly - the repaired advised that the car needed a new bumper and they informed the insurance of this. I called admiral up this morning and I was shocked at the level of service the customer service agents were / they were rude and they do not care about the customer. I spoke to John / Paul who was extremely rude and very unhelpful I am shocked at how they treat their customers it’s actually disgusting I have over 7 cars insured with them on a multi car policy and I will not be renewing with them. I was calling up as the repairer advised this was a temporary repair and they informed the insurance company who advised this is ok - I was explaining to the agent that this temporary repair is unheard of and is illegal and that the car needs to be fixed to ensure it’s a proper repair. However the agent was constantly talking above me - I asked for a manager to call me he advised that a manager would call me in 8 weeks time which is lies again. I called again in the afternoon and spoke to a nice helpful gentlemen who advised a manager would call me on Monday now. However the issue is that my car is not repaired and is temporarily repaired and admiral are refusing to fix this which none of it was my fault. I did not want this and I will now be taking legal action. Please go elsewhere for your insurance - they do not care about the customer nor are they helpful.
