I buy Gabor shoes quite often but I returned them because the sole has changed to a strange plastic and when I tried them on I felt they could slip. Very sad

Gabor shoes themselves are generally quality products: well-designed and comfortable shoes. However, from Clinkard (their UK online retailer) I've been sent the same faulty pair of shoes twice in a row. In fact, out of six pairs of shoes ordered online, three of them have been faulty, arriving in well-worn boxes. Customer services are always friendly and helpful, but their care seems at odds with the recycled dispatch of sub-standard products. Also, given that it is impossible to tell whether shoes fit without trying them on (even if ordering precisely the same size from the same brand, like Gabor), it will always smart that returns are so costly.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you received a faulty item, we would not expect a customer to pay for a return to send something back if there was a fault and could provide a label for the return if needed. You would need to let us know though, so that we can send the label to you. Boxes can get damaged in transit, however if the shoes are damaged, then we do take them from sale and not send them out again, it seems that on this occasion we have let you down. Thank you for letting us know that you are happy with our customer services, we do try to help customers and right any errors that may occasionally occur. There is a link on our website to CollectPlus where for £4.49 you can return up to 10 kilo for this low cost allowing several pair to come back together, this may help for future reference. To be honest, I like the design of the shoes and stuff, but the shoes box arrived looking like it's been returned and old. Also, there was stains inside the shoe like sticky one..I was not happy about this but other than that, it's fine i guess

Faulty. Had to return. Can’t get a replacement till you get them back. Which means I am going to waiting a long time for my shoes. A shame as always buy Gabor. First time done online. First time a fault. Until now would have been 10/10 but when you pay over £100 for shoes you not expect quality control to have missed the fault

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you received a faulty item. If the item is unworn, you could note the tracking number from the label that we have sent and let us know once posted back, we can at this point send out to you a replacement rather than you having to wait until the item comes back. However if the item is worn, we do wait until they come back so that we can see if the item was damaged, or if it is a manufacturing fault. I was disapointed the boots did not arrive in a proper gabor box ( I store them in these)- indeed they were just rattling around in the shipping box without any of the normal inflatable supports inside the boots or wrapping around them. At £180 I expect more care to be taken of the boots from your end. Not sure I would use Gabor again as if this is how they are shipped, what care is given to them in production?

Hello Thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear how your boots had been packaged. We strongly recommend not storing your boots in boxes, as this can damage them in the long run. We do transfer the boots to our own boxes if the original has been too damaged in transit to send out, this should always come with adequate protection for the boots and should include necessary packaging to make your shoes/boots look as perfect, as we expect them to look when sending them out. Have bought many, many pairs of Gabor shoes. My latest, ankle boots, were described as 'wide fit,' they are the slimmest I've ever had! Also, the leather is hard and inflexible making them a lot less comfortable, don't think the quality is anywhere near as good.

I am sorry to hear that the shoes were not a good fitting for you. With regard to posting back, you can choose the service that you wish. You appear to have chosen a signed for next day service, but you can use second class which is much cheaper. You can then add tracking for approximately 80p more so you can see when they come back. Also there is a link on our website for £4.49 which covers up to 10 kilo of returns with Collect +. Alternatively you can take back to any Charles Clinkard store if you have one near to you. Not received my parcel yet so can’t say if the sizing advice I received has been helpful! Could have better updates on shipping from Gabor themselves - I have had shipping updates from Dpd I assume are for this parcel but can’t be totally sure as the name Gabor is not mentioned anywhere. The sizing information online regarding width etc is not consistently clear but I did receive a prompt email when I wrote in to ask.

Thank you for your review. When we send an order out, it is usually delivered the next day. On this occasion when DPD tried to deliver on the 6th January, there was nobody home so a calling card was left. I can see that 2 further dates have been arranged from yourself with DPD also. We were unaware of this as DPD is a seperate service which we pay for, although the tracking is available on your order. Sadly will be returning boots. Very narrow round ankle. Just didn’t look or feel right on me. Good quality leather though. I am disappointed as to return item has not been cheap. Will not purchase in future when returns are not free.

You can return your order to any of our stores for free. You can purchase a collect plus label from our website for £4.50 or you can also use Royal Mail, second class tracked service is a very popular option and this can start from as little as £3.30. Very narrow, short fit. Surprise as gabor shoes or boots have in the past been a favourite because of the comfort and size being wide fit. No in this instance however!

Shoes were good. Delivery was poor. Order form indicated that if I paid extra 4.99, shoes would arrive n Thursday 17/11. Once money had been paid arrival date set at either 17/11 or 18/11. I was going away for the weekend and when shoes had still not arrived by 6pm on 18/11, I had to change delivery date to Monday 21/11. Having paid extra for faster delivery I did not receive this service and would appreciate a refund.

Thank you for your review. Our next day delivery service is £5.99 and our express (dispatch within 3 working days maximum) is £3.99. Your order was actually an express delivery and not a next day, and was out within this time, however I can see that your order altough out for delivery sooner, was not delivered on the days that the courier stated. Boots arrived in a really tatty box snd unsure if they had been returned as toes looked a bit scuffed Decided to keep as difficult to get but now there is 20% off do really not happy

Unfortunately, I had to return these boots as the fold of leather at the top of the outer zip was very uncomfortable. The colour was nice. I’m still waiting for acknowledgment of the return of these boots (4 days ago - guaranteed next day delivery).

The Rachel calf length boots I ordered looked fabulous - the box they came in was almost as good. Unfortunately despite them being advertised as a very wide fit, the instep, foot area & calf coverage were narrow making them unsuitable & unwearable for me. So disappointing.

Some customers find that buying a half size bigger gives them the extra room within the boot to make them much more comfortable. Thank you for your review. We do recommend a tracked service as this will let you see when the order is returned to us, but you do not have to do this. Tracking is usually about 80p more than the cost of postage, which you can keep low by using second class mail and not a next day service. You can also take back to a Charles Clinkard store or use the linnk to collect + on our website which is £4.49 and covers up to 10 kilos. I hope that this helps for future reference.
