The bulbs I purchased have all been very good. Unfortunately I have not been so pleased with the bare root shrubs, because twice one of the three I bought looked dead on arrival and has never grown. I will continue to buy my bulbs from Farmer Gracy but will not buy any more bare root shrubs

I ordered Tulips & Narcissus from you last Autumn - order arrived 2.9.23. Most of the bulbs were pretty good, except the Marianne tulips are completely from the image shown on your website. They are a bright Red/Orange which I would never have in my pots with La Belle Epoch. Very disappointing. Will try & upload photo. Also no sign of any Pheasants eye flowering? Is it still too early? Look forward to receiving your response. Thank you

As a full time gardener I decided to try Farmer Gracy this year. I've placed several orders and found varying quality in the delivered plant material. I guess until I see the flowering results I cannot dismiss the quality too much however, lots of the Dahlia tubers' fingers were damaged and generally a lot lighter/smaller than the 3 tubers bought cheaper from a high street supermarket. I worry that when a business is scaled up the quality can be lacking sometimes. Maybe I was just unlikely, but again I will wait to see the results. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos but I could photograph the growth quality in due course. Vest regards, Jules

Hello, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that there are concerns regarding the condition of some of these Dahlia tubers. Dahlia tubers can be quite fragile and during harvest they can suffer light damage. Bent tubers which appear cracked where they join the neck are common and this won't usually have an impact on the performance of the plant. The dahlia tubers I ordered look good and I’m looking forward to watching them flower. They arrived within the estimated time frame, I am however disappointed with the delivery service (Evri) my parcel arrived looking very battered with soil coming out.

Two of the three dahlia tubers I ordered were good. The third one was two small tubers, each with two or three tubers attached and several small loose tubers without a growing point. If they had all been as the first two, I would have given 5 stars as they were carefully packaged and delivered.

Hello, Thank you for your review. Dahlia tubers are naturally different shapes and sizes, often a tuber which appears small will still grow into a full-size flowering plant. Hi bought three Aquilegia 'White Barlow , bare root , one was a well established bare root plant , the other two were less than half the size and very poor quality , i will have to see if all three survive and flower

Good quality, poor delivery service. Evri might be your cheapest option, but it will cost you eventually. I will shop elsewhere if I know Evri delivers my order. They are unreliable and unacceptable.

My honest opinion is that buying bare roots is a mixed bag, success wise. I’m an experienced gardener and I have ordered from you often in the last few years. In Autumn I planted 100 Allium Moly, purchased from you. They were planted at the correct depth in very free draining soil amongst other happy bulbs and so far not one has made an appearance, no leaves, nothing. I ordered 3 giant pink Dahlia, and two thrived, one rotted. Although you kindly sent a replacement tuber, unfortunately it was crushed and snapped, I’ve planted it anyway but I don’t hold much hope for it. In conclusion, I won’t be ordering so much from you guys in the future, which is a shame. I’m waiting the see if the 4 o clock bulbs do anything, that will help me decide whether to order again or not.

Bulbs and bare roots were good quality and came in good condition. My only got one thing to say is that the delivery took nearly 3 weeks.

Would have given five stars but plants were in transit for over a week. Might have been better to wait till after Easter holiday to dispatch them. Hosta T Rex was one shoot which had started growing searching for light and had broken off in transit. Lots of very lovely paper and card in the box,would have preferred better delivery experience. Maybe just bad luck on my part but not ideal.

One of the bags of alstroemeria contained no tubers and one contained a very small part of a tuber which I am not convinced will produce a plant

I had to wait quite a long time for my bare root plants to arrive from The Netherlands. When they arrived some of the shoots attached to the roots had broken off, so I am waiting to see if they have survived now they have been planted. So yes, I think the packaging could have been better with Fragile stickers placed on the box to ensure the plants arrived undamaged.

The range of bulbs & plants is extensive. Delivery time is good. Given the prices, the quality is questionable. About 50% bulbs & 30% bare root plants I have received have grown, compared with 70%+ from other suppliers. It is hard to claim refund, unless damaged during delivery, as proving why plants didn't thrive is difficult.

The two bare root plants were packed well with clear instructions and the advice about delivery was good. My only concern is that the plants are considerably smaller than in expected and compared to other bare root plants i have received from elsewhere. AS such, i do not see yhem as being value for money.

Ordered bulbs and bare root plants, began potting up all ok except one.Coreopsis ‘Solar Fancy’ bare root had rotted and had to be thrown away.Having had many plants from Farmer Gracy in the past with no problem’s I was disappointed with the quality of that one item.
