Purchased travel insurance, no problem taking my money. Booked a holiday costing over £2000 but due to my partners mother having a sudden illness and being an only child, we tried to rearrange the date but Thomson holidays did not respond to our travel agent. Reluctantly we cancelled our trip. I sent off my insurance claim and my partner se t hers to her isurerers, Aviva. My partner received a full refund in 3 weeks whilst I am still fighting to obtain any monies. My advice to anyone is to avoid usi g this Company as they will look for any way to avoid paying out monies where a legitimate claim has been made. Absolutely disgusting practice.!!!

Total shambles of a company who use every trick in the book not to pay a claim. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Took out travel insurance with Explorer and declared my medical condition well before my holiday. Before travelling I then declared when I had an operation expecting them to increase the premium. However, they then refused to cover me for that condition rendering the policy useless. At this point I had no alternative but to cancel policy and insure with Stay sure. Explorer would not refund me in full and only gave me 50% of the initial premium. A policy is only good if you need it. Think carefully before you use Explorer !

Can’t comment until I have to make a claim, which I sincerely hope I don’t have to.

We called you whilst on holiday to report a lost mobile phone whilst Trekking in Sweden. We purchased a specific 'Explorer' Insurance Policy to ensure we would receive sufficient cover whilst on holiday and cover every eventuality. When we spoke with one of your customer advisers we were met with uncertainty about what our policy actually covered and a request to provide a police report regarding the lost phone! ... To which I explained the phone was 'Lost' whilst in the Swedish Wilderness and this was not possible! Following this I asked how much we would actually be covered for if I did provide this information, I was told £175 with a £75 excess - Which would clearly not covered a quarter of the price of a modern mobile phone. This policy is clearly out dated and we very much regret taking out the policy with you and giving you our business. If you require further detail please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

We have had to make a claim as my wife's mobile phone was stolen in Peru. It takes on average about 40 minutes to get through on the phone and then you never get the correct person to deal with our claim. We put our claim in around the 5 June , got a reference number and have got no further despite numerous calls. Their customer service is none existent as soon as they have taken your money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IN CASE YOU ARE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM!

On return and submitting claim, inefficient staffing kept emailing after submission of form several times for additional information. Very stressful and expensive to keep ringing and in the end gave up as were getting nowhere and even though the information they requested had been sent they still kept requesting it again and again. Would never use this company again - beware

Not happy at all. I put in a claim (my husband was taken ill before our holiday) in February and have still not been reimbursed (July). It has now been passed to their insurers because the claim was for over £5000. I have had no update and have called several times being told that it has been "passed on". Not satisfied at all.

Fine when you are biting the policy but wait till you make a claim! Took 7 months for them to pay up part of it. Note well if you are taken ill abroad it is your own responsibility to keep them informed of what is happening otherwise they won't pay up! If you make decisions without consulting them you will have to pay for it yourself!

Purchased travel insurance with Explorer but unfortunately had to cancel due to my partner's Mother having sudden renal failure. I obtained all the necessary evidence and submitted my claim and 3 months later I am still fighting for my money back. I have been told that despite purchasing my insurance from Explorer my actual insurance company is Fogg!!! My partner, who has a different I durance provider, was paid out within 3-4weeks!!!! How can this be fair?????

Having taken a weeks travel insurance at Xmas my suit case was lost for days. So was without clothes I therefore had to buy some essentials to make do until make case did eventually turn up. Thomas cook who I travelled with paid me back as a goodwill £150 When I tried claim from explorer who I took my insurance out with and it states eligable for delayed luggage They have declined it because thomas cook paid me some money back. My god I was only claiming about £150 they said can not claim of 2 people Everybody be aware that until you make a claim you never know. Disgracefull will never take insurance out with them again and I go away about 3 times a year.

Do not touch this company with a bargepole, I paid out $200 to see the ships doctor for a rash, Which turned out to be eczema.. I made 4 phone calls numerous emails all ignored.. I finely received a cheque last week for the measly sum of £1.21.. AVOID this company at all costs. They do not like paying out & will ignore your calls & emails.. There Charlatans..

Booked a cruise in August 2017, my family did not receive our luggage at the destination airport and was left without anything for 5 days. Which as you can imagine was a nightmare on a cruise. We came home and put a claim in as according to the platinum cover which we paid for. I was told today that we should have claimed of the airline. This information was given 4 months later. Why sell a policy to be insured for such things to be told this, but apparently its all in the wording. Actually it was my cases that were lost/delayed, not a delayed flight as in section B8 in which the company is claiming. It is safe to say i have an appointment for legal advice tomorrow. I WOULD SUGGEST NO ONE USES THIS COMPANY.

I took this holiday insurance out in full understanding that my cancellation charges would be covered so that I could go away with my Mum on a cruise earlier this year. EXPLORER TRAVEL INSURANCE which I thought it was who then put me in touch with FOGG TRAVEL INSURANCE have sent me a letter today saying that they won’t pay out any of the £2,500 that is owed because my mums illness was in 2016 despite the fact we have a doctors note stating that she was okay at the time of booking. We’ve had lots of problems with travel insurance in the past and now this on top of my Mum passing away really has topped it off while I’m still trying to grieve. We take insurance out on cars, on holidays, our homes and many other things but they always seem to have a way of getting out of it rather than providing you with a service you take it out for in the first place ! so it’s quite hard to accept especially after what’s happened and with actually paying more thinking it was the best one. Clearly not
