“We originally contacted Environ at the end of July. Now, nearly three months on, there are still mice running around our kitchen - Environ technicians have visited our property 4-5 times. We have paid for multiple surveys and two rounds of proofing. Whether the mice are now trapped in with us or still getting in and out, the bait / poison, which has been replenished on each visit, doesn't seem to interest them at all. In between, there have been technicians turning up for the wrong jobs, missing *obvious* holes that they have had to fill on a visit weeks apart from the last, and surveys and bait that are as useful as a chocolate teapot. Spoke to them on Friday and was assured I would receive a call back today (the following Monday) - by the time I called the office the ops manager had already left for the day. We can either see the mice running on the floor or *hear* them squeaking behind the kitchen units. A basic Google suggests they are scared, in pain or shagging. If the latter, things are about to get a hell of a lot worse. Whenever we call up their team repeat the same message: that it could be to do with our neighbours, neglecting the fact that if the mice could not get in (the exact service we have paid for) this wouldn't matter. Today, they even said that the mice probably aren't taking the bait - again, very much a *you* not a *me* problem. In short, I can see they have received great reviews and don't doubt they are capable of providing a decent service. But after almost three months, £100s and zero change to our situation (not to mention a serious lack of urgency to rectify their mistakes), I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. There really *have* to be better companies than this one.”

“Infuriating. Environ originally came round over a year ago to fix a mouse problem. They identified a number of holes and filled them in. A few months back we got a new washer-dryer fitted which evidently reopened one of the holes and unsurprisingly mice returned. We therefore asked Environ to come back and do another survey - we have now had three visits and, for some reason, they continue to send out engineers that are only equipped or instructed to do a survey and cost a job, not to actually do the proofing. Continually told we will be called back and end up having the same conversation with their HQ. Have paid them £200 thus far and have to contend with mice on our kitchen surfaces - which is grim. Hopefully they'll read this and decide to actually do something. In short, can see there are plenty of people with good experiences but don't be surprised if your case slips through the cracks and comms/service deteriorates once payment has been made (offers of free visits are pretty empty when you've already paid for a service that's done nothing).”

“I used Environ for a rat problem that I had under my floors (converted Victorian 1-bed garden flat) on the basis their pricier service was thorough, environmentally friendly and innovative. As per website marketing and sales call discussion, I expected a full investigation (lifting floorboards to access) using UV-light tracking powder and thorough inspection of ALL problem areas, followed up by treatment using traps and - one of the main reasons I selected them - the jack russell. One star is provided because the service technician who attended was professional, knowledgeable, generally on time and extremely helpful with some good advice. He also attended all 3 visits which helped as I didn’t need to re-explain each visit. That’s where the good review ends I’m afraid. Serious issues faced: 1. The office had not advised the technician of the need to access under floorboards where there was not already an access point. I had explicitly asked about this as knew at least one area didn’t have an access point. Technician said they don’t do that - in conflict with the info I’d been given by the sales team. On my insistence, floorboards were raised in one location I knew had access hatch (the guy was happy to do this thankfully but needed to seek permission from office first!). 2. No tracking powder was ever used to identify routes/entry points - even after confirming this with customer service before the second visit. There is clearly poor communication between the office and the field teams as these inconsistencies recurred. Very disappointing. For treatment, only traps were laid and no dog was ever even offered, so I don’t even know if this is a real option! 3. A drain survey to inspect for possible entry points was advised and made sense so I went ahead, paying in advance as requested (mistake). The drain team were professional and seemed good. It wasn’t until afterwards that issues came up. The report was completely incomprehensible and technical. No overall drain plan provided to map out where problems were identified nor was this properly explained to me despite repeated requests. The drainage engineer never bothered to call to discuss despite repeated requests (I ALWAYS had to chase up Environ). I also had problems accessing the cctv footage - which showed nothing anyway to support any of the recommended works. One particular (dead) pipe was later found to have been blocked by steel wool and a screwdriver which was retrieved by hand by another drain company I had engaged. This called into question the thoroughness of the drain inspection that Environ had conducted. No excuse for not identifying this! 4. My main issue with Environ is the exorbitant price it charges. The quote for remediation works (on mostly lateral shared drains which are actually Thames Water responsibility) came close to £6000! For example, charging over 3 times quality competitors and over 10x DIY prices for manhole covers and rat valves is just plain having a laugh. Even against similar high quality products they are at least 3x as expensive: £2600+VAT for 5 rat valves and £650+VAT for a stainless steel manhole cover - materials only. Ridiculous. When I called to discuss prices and options, a measly 10% discount was offered, and the 5yr guarantee used as reasoning (same as others BTW). I politely declined and went elsewhere. I’m not stupid, and had sought three other quotes based on the work report, which all came in at approx 1/3 the price. Overall very dissatisfied with Environ services. They are expensive, don’t deliver on what they promise for the premium price, and their customer service when calling in is appalling as they don’t follow through. I do not recommend using them as they are no different to others and not worth the additional price. Go elsewhere for your sanity!”

“Had a mouse infestation that was just getting worse and worse and was relieved to find Environ who offered us a decent quote for treatment and proofing and were able to schedule us in quickly. We had a great experience with Joshua who came over to do our treatment within a week, and then Valentino who did our proofing shortly afterwards really went above and beyond to ensure that every proofable area was sorted before he left - I was really impressed. If you want a diligent and thorough service then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company. I haven’t seen a mouse since the day the proofing was done!”

“Paid over £1000 for a cheap one way valve, jetwashing and 3 times laying poison that wasn't eaten. Rats were still there. Turns out the valve was not fitted properly, too small and doesn't comply with Thames Water regulations. Environ didn't realize that the problem was an unused broken rainwater pipe. Although they jetwashed the pipe! Still under guarantee but I am not even trying getting my money back. Avoid that company.”

“Hired Environ through our management company to initially come for a pest control survey in my loft, where we have rodent issues every winter and spring in the past 2 years. CCTV drain survey took place via this company also after their first visit. I would not recommend either service from this company. CCTV survey report is not clear and inconclusive with what the findings are (i.e. if there were no displacement or breaking or pipe with heave layers of scale, etc) there was none of that in the report, but just the start and end of the camera shot. I was also not given a USB for all the footages, which I only realised I was meant to be given one when their Pest Control Manager rang to find out if I would take up their recommended works cost £1800 in total, which is not back up by any visual photographs for the works necessary but just verbally said and put in the email. Point taken that their work has a 5-year warranty. But when I questioned all the discrepancies that do not tie up with what they said and no photographic evidence shown, I felt like this company was just trying to scam money from us. I hired another company to fit a stainless steel non-return valve (i.e. rodent blocker) and the cost is much lower. The cost of what Environ charged me would allow me to reinstall 5 other valves in the future should the stainless steel somehow fail(!) The pest control team (Dan and Chris) attended the survey visit, one of them refused to do a more thorough check in the loft. Only after I negotiate and pointed that they were the only pest control company that I have ever hired to look at the loft in less than a minute and came back down, the other pest controller (Chris) was willing to go up and found a dead rat that was caught in an old trap. Lucky that I negotiate and frustrated to have to ask them to do their job properly! Secondly Environ promised to send the pest controllers who attended the first visit to attend the second, but turned out not the case. So i had to explained everything wasn't noted in their report and queried things that do not tie up again. Other pest control company, unlike Environ, would communicate with their customers ahead of time if the original technician could not attend second or third visits. To conclude, I am very disappointed with Environ's service and would not regard their words trust-worthy, even they seemed to have good rating, good website, and hefty price tag. Looking back, I shouldn't have ignored all of the 1-star rating and comments! Last but not least, this company couldn't even get my address right after about 3 times requesting them to update their system! and none of them turned up on time!”

“Feel very upset by this company. Paid £97 up front for a man to come and and tell us we had rats (we already knew, we had caught 5 ourselves) He found droppings which when I inspected turned out to be plastic, rubbish and certainly not from a rat! He told us we needed a drain inspection and left (our drains have rat blockers in already) Left two bait blocks he said he would return to check? We have not heard anything back from the company I never even got his name!! Waste of money and time!!”
