I can not fault the people I dealt with when buying this product (Kingston Chicken Coup) as the were all very helpful and a very prompt response to a question I had. The only thing I am really disappointed with is the product quality. When I read all about it I thought i’d be getting a British made product, but in stead I feel the product has been made in a foreign company and mass produced. The coup is very small and in my option won’t house more than 3/4 British sized chickens comfortably. The locking bolts are cheap pressed products and not sort of thing you would expect from a uk manufacturer. I can only say you get what your pay for, a cheap manufactured foreign made product for a cheap price. That said I’m disappointed with the product and not the company I brought it from.

Bought the chicken run but poor quality with 2of the joints broken, screws sheared off. Needed urgently or would have returned it so had to glue broken corners of two separate pieces. Otherwise went together well and serves its purpose

My order arrived a day earlier than expected, but I wasn't in to sign for the delivery and had to then go to the depot to collect it! It would be better if you could send a tracking email! Also a piece of the nest box is broken but was able to bodge it so not a great problem!

Bought the 4ft 2 tier hutch for my 2 Guinnea pigs , arrived really quickly but quite difficult to assemble and I think it's because it's poorly made, not really that bothered as I'm not living in it but still., for the price it's not good, the wood is split in places and the hatch door doesnt meet the contact therefore the two floors have to remain accessible at all times ... Again not a big deal. Also the idea that you can just slide the tray out doesn't work l... Well it does if you have nothing in it , but you have to remove all the hay/ poo / bedding before sliding it out as it just gets stuck .Therefore I have bought some packing paper and gonna do it the old fashioned way and open the lid and pull up the paper ... The hutch isn't treated or of it has been , not very well , I've bought a cover for it to try to protect it in the rain... On the plus side , it looks lovely and the metal is solid and I feel very confident that a cat/ fix or dog wouldn't have much luck getting in it

I bought the Windsor xxl 8ft mobile chicken coop and run. It arrived quickly, but I must say that we never received email notification of delivery (so we might have been out!) All was ok and hubby erected the coop and run relatively easily within about 2-3 hours. Liked the spare screws! The instructions were ok but not brilliant. He decided to treat all the wood surfaces before putting it into use...fiddly but we thought wise. The problems started when we first tried to wheel it on a grass surface. It became clear that the coop and run would only move easily on dead flat ground with very short grass...like a bowling green...but who keeps chickens on a bowling green! Once in situ it looked good and were were initially quite happy. Our site is flat with short grass but it's not a bowling green and a few days later when we wanted to move the coop, it again proved to be difficult. My hubby made some wooden rails on which to run the coop wheels without dragging. Despite being relatively well connected, the coop and run sections flex when moved to a new position. This has caused problems with the closing of the run gate. Hubby has therefore braced the whole structure around its base to ensure rigidity and more bracing is planned. We suspect that without all this extra bracing the run and coop would not last for long. We have had a mobile coop on a rough field for many years and it has lasted well. We did not expect this coop to be as robust but we did expect it to be fit for purpose (mobile) on flat ground and in our opinion it isn't.

Its well made, easy to put together although I don't know why we have 'J' fitting. However, I am a bit disappointed about how small it is, I though it would be big enough to walk in from the picture so finding that the gate is only about 12" wide was a disappointment. Only 1/2 put together so far but chicks are arriving on Sunday. Okay as a starter coop and run.

Bought a Gertrude coop to replace an old smaller coop. Currently only have 3 hybrids but more on the way. The Gertrude is a lovely looking coop and easy to assemble. 2 problems however. Couldn't get the roof to close and had to move the hinges on one side slightly. Not a major problem. The problem I do have is with the nest boxes which are tiny compared to my old small coop. My girls tried to use them without success and I even removed the dividers. The nest box is several inches higher than the floor of the coop, and a few broken eggs later, my girls refuse to use them altogether. They are now laying on the floor of the coop. The nest boxes are only really big enough for bantams.

This run was ok but was very difficult to put together. Took 3 of us to do 1 which was my dad who Is a machanic as we had to grind down several pieces of metal as they wouldn't fit. Would buy again as we have the tools to put together but wouldn't recommend to anyone else I'm affraid

It's ok. A bit thin tongue and groove but it's a reasonable price so I guess fair enough. I needed to straighten one hinge that was bent and move the position of two as the roof didn't line up even closely. Also the little bits of timber to hold the separators in the nesting box had to be refitted as three had come off and another was broken which I had to replace.

I found the instructions for assembly very small and hard to decipher there was no real step by step instruction and had to figure it out as I went along - also feel that latch on top of doors/gates only is not sufficient and have added extras at the bottom of the doors/gates. paid for next day delivery and only received two days later. When I called customer service and said I had not received in time I had been told and was told that they were chasing up, but did not offer to refund the difference in delivery charge.

This is a useful run but erecting it was made more difficult by inadequate instructions and labelling. Some parts were not labelled. Also some of the tubes were slightly misshapen which made joining together difficult and a weld for on of the screws failed. Finally there is no door handle which makes opening and closing difficult. If they fixed these issues it would be a much better product.

My item was quick and easy to order and pay for. The product arrived promptly however there are several items missing which has ordered on a Friday afternoon and I'm very upset that I will have to wait until monday before I will get a response to my email in order to solve the situation.

The product itself is very good and I am pleased with it. I'd give that 5 stars. However, it took 3 separate deliveries over about as many weeks to actually receive all of the parts of the order. The delays in delivery were down to the courier ( Eggshell- you should change your courier company!). I'm not sure whether the damage to some of the parts was due to the courier, or to poor quality control by Eggshell. That said, Eggshell did its best to sort out the issues and I would use them again.

Easy ordering and fast response by supplier. Unfortunately, delivery agent didn't meet expectations - expected Tuesday, failed to deliver, rescheduled Friday, only one parcel of two arrived. Now awaiting rest of order, 1 week later... Packaging permitted parts to bump into each other, meaning small damages occurred, easily fixed on site but remediable by better packing.

Can't complain about order and delivery, very efficient. However, the product I am rather disappointed with, a fox proof chicken coop, for 6 chickens, I have bought this for one rabbit, it is much smaller than I would imagine 6 chickens need, let alone 1 rabbit! The fastenings are flimsy, the coop is not very robust and although I bought wheels to be able to move the coop regularly, unless you have a bowling green lawn, it does not travel smoothly over the ground and we have had to put extra brackets on it, to reinforce it to enable us to move it!

Although Eggshell were very quick to replace a faulty part, and were helpful with assembly queries, we were not impressed with the quality of the wood, which split very easily when screwing fixings in. I don't think this coup/run will last the 10 years my previous one did. Had I seen if before buying, I probably wouldn't have done.

I agree with many others. Great looking product but quite cheap quality that is unlikely to last as long as we would hope. Product was easy to assemble but again like others found that one lot of screws were too short for the job Overall not a bad product for the price but you do get what you pay for

I purchased a "Lodge". I suggest that unless you want to buy a hen house every year, that you look elsewhere. A little more money spent now, will pay dividends in longevity. I purchased this hen house as a temporary quarantine house for four ex-batt hens, and will hereafter use it as a hospital area - indoors! The good points - it is of adequate size for four birds, particularly if they are still roosting on the floor. The lugs help a great deal when constructing the house. The bad points Nothing about this building inspires me to think it suitable housing for birds over a winter. The walls and the roof are just too thin. It did survive 4 weeks of Scottish "Summer" - but hereafter will be used undercover. The timber used was bone dry - put it outside and doors warp, stick, jam and fixings no longer meet. Screws come in random quantities, the main screws were long, slender and too few (I replaced them all with brass screws). The roof hinges are situated on the edge of wood so thin that it bends in use. The hinged roof needs a method of locking it down, or a scrabbling fox will get in. After some sleepless nights, I screwed mine down. The directions instruct that the nest box floor is to be screwed in - this would render proper cleaning and control of red mite impossible. To be fair, I think the mistake is in the instructions, not the design, which is clearly for the floor to be loose. On the subject of control of red mite, some of the ends of the nest box look as if they were snapped, rather than sawn - fragmented timber provides ideal mite lodgings. The nest box roof is designed to be hinged; compared to a properly fitted removable roof. this greatly limits access to the nest box for cleaning. Drafts - all around, particularly from around the nest box, which fits the hole poorly, the main door....... and drafts are not good for chickens. Ventilation - not enough! I would advise owners to drill some holes high in the gable opposite the ventilation grill. The perches are too close together and too small for medium size birds. I cut them up to use as draft stoppers. Buyer, beware.
