“the service was good but the product we bought was not. it looks cheep dont think it will last long. door handle was split the side was damaged and the floor also had splits on it. says its for 12 birds but i would say 6”

“Ordering the coop was pretty straightforward and easy and i was kept up to date. I was then text by a delivery company to say something was being delivered for my PC Globe order. Had no idea what that was, but it turned out to be the coop. Perfect. Came to building it and it was clear that you get what you paid for and this coop is cheap for a reason. The wood is OK and the idea was great, but the coop is pretty much falling apart and we haven't even put chickens in yet. And no I did not use the wrong screws. The bits that are falling off are the bits that already had screws in. My husband who is a carpenter is going to try and revive it, but I am so upset. Lesson learned. Pay more, buy once.”

“A part of the run arrived damaged but was quickly replaced. Thanks. We found the assembly diagram didn’t clearly show the differences between the parts so that slowed us down. I’ve modified the run by making one of the roof sections open. This makes it much more accessible than the ground level openers.”

“Delivery was very quick and efficient. The quality of wood was not good as it was quite flimsy. The screw-holes on the wheel blocks were in the wrong place, so we had to drill some more, but it was confusing. The instruction sheet was difficult to find in the midst of all the packing. The wheels are a great help for moving it and the chickens are very happy!”

“Delivered on time. Hutch looks good now it’s been built but was damaged on arrival (packaging and roof of hutch) with hinge on one part broken and screw missing. There was also some breaking/sharding of the wood as we built the hutch. Left feeling a little disappointed...”

“Nice house. Went together quite well. Would have helped if it had all been cut square. Rubbish fixings. In the case of the catches, very poor quality. Instructions would make more sense if you marked the pieces to match the instructions and not just the screws etc. Diagrams could be larger honestly. Gets confusing to follow with so much going on in a small space. Would I buy another? Probably not.”

“Whilst the hutch we ordered is lovely, we were disappointed with the delivery aspect. We received no communications post the order confirmation so no tracking email as stated. When enquirer as to delivery was advised was delivered day previous. No card left and delivered to house two roads away despite someone being there to take delivery of hutch all day.”

“Reasonable product - some splintered bits and the plastic for the window was cracked but we were desperate so kept it. Warning - It is very small. It is just about sufficient for one chicken and only because she is free roaming during the day and only goes in there at night. Definitely would not feel comfortable leaving her in there for any length of time as just too small. Maybe ok for much smaller animals such as guinea pigs, but even then only two maximum. One very good thing was delivery was very quick but we did pay extra for that.”

“Having read reviews I was worried about purchasing from eggshell. But delivery was Wednesday after ordering on Monday. Flimsier than I would have liked for the price and color too yellow. But after painting it will be a nice new home for our free range batams.”

“Good delivery timescale and product ‘OK’ but, oh dear, the instruction booklet was useless. Needed a very practical approach to fill in the gaps as to what to assemble. It is clear that the product is imported from China and the instructions probably translated by the Chinese into English. One of the poles was bent, not quite enough to go through the hassle of sending it back but annoying nevertheless. Further, 3 joints were defective and needed amending with pliers to widen the aperture.”

“I have rated it at 3 based purely on delivery and communication. I paid for express delivery Monday 4th June at 9:00 am, confirmed this was a certainty with the office staff as I had arranged help to assemble to chicken coop on Tuesday 5 June. I was told the courier would be there, even if it was an hour or so late. I did not receive an email or phone call to advise the coop was not being delivered, I lost a day and paid for a day's help. Product delivered Wednesday 6 June and appears fit for purpose. I will not, in clear conscience, recommend this company if timing of delivery is important. NO TRACKING, NO COMMUNICATION AND INCORRECT ADVICE cost me more than the coop! I have given Eggshell the opportunity to respond to me privately, no surprise that I have not heard from them. Disgruntled in West Wickham.”

“Poor quality construction let it down, the Roger XL hutch looks the part and the functionality is great however I had several problems assembling it. One of the panels was 15mm longer at the bottom than the top so be I had to modify it my cutting a piece off to make it fit. Also the support bar that the ladder attaches to snapped whist assembling so I had to replace it. Overall it looks great but not holding up much hope for how long it will last as it's all so lightweight.”

“Quick delivery but item was a lot smaller than anticipated. The hutch cover had a slight tear on the back and wasn’t packaged very well. Pretty easy build but Instructions weren’t too great. I will not be purchasing from them again as I can get more for my money at a local pet store.”

“Delivery was made on second attempt. (Missed delivery text first time) One piece was totally broken, I had to repair before assembly. Instructions are too small and very basic, (print on both sides of the paper) but it’s easy enough to work out what goes where, although trying to fit the roof with hinges is nie on impossible, had to improvise a little Otherwise for what you pay, cannot expect too much. It will serve its purpose. However it should not be broken when you unpack it.”

“Reasonable choice of products and easy check out. Arrived in a reasonable time and well packaged. Quality has deteriorated since last purchase. Feels mass produced and flimsy. Don't expect it to last as long as last eggshell coop. Will probably look elsewhere in future.”

“Well packed but still two parts damaged. Easy to assemble. Suggest you go direct to Cocoon website and get the same product for £30 LESS! The logo on the front in the photo on the web site is Cocoons.”
