“I was quite disappointed with the coop. There were large gaps between every door which meant it would be very draughty. We have had to attach strips of wood on the inside of each opening to block up the gaps. We have also had to put wedges at the end of every perch as they didnt fit securely and wobbled all over the place, they are also quite strangely placed. There were also gaps between the floor and the walls. The catches and locks are quite flimsy. These are all comparisons with our other coops which don't have draughty gaps, have secure latches and well placed secure perches.”

“Item arrived totally damaged, no reply to my e mail then I was asked to unpack the very large item before getting a collection and refund. Very unhappy with product and service and still not had refund or collection. I could barely get back in box so not prepared to unpack it all.”

“Hutch is overall Nice to look at and meets standards - however I did not receive any locks so all 4 doors cannot be closed properly. Customer service is APPAULING with this company. Complained 5days ago via email with no response as of yet. Also rang the customer service number TWICE 5days ago to be hung up on BOTH times. Literally had to keep my guinea pigs on the upper level of the hutch and wedge a garden chair against the doors to keep them closed!!! Would never buy from here again purely due to the lack of customer service. Shame. UPDATE Customer service got worse when I didn’t think it could have. I eventually got a phone call & numerous emails asking to change my review (not to try and rectify the issue I had or the locks I didn’t receive) purely about changing the review. I eventually received my hutch locks 5 days after the phone call which was terrible considering they could have posted them first class and my guinea pigs could have been in a safer hutch days earlier!!!! The locks have been on the hutch 3days and one of them has actually snapped off - HOW CAN A LOCK SNAP IN HALF. So I am now down a lock AGAIN. Doesn’t keep the door closed securely at all. Never am I ever using this company again I’ve never experienced such chaos.”

“Only 1 box out of 2 arrived. Second box was resent but didnt arrive. Stayed in waiting, nobody answered the calls ( courier or eggshell ). We paid £20 for the delivery and now have a very disappointed daughter as she cant get her xmas bunny.”

“I ordered over the phone and asked if two runs could be joined and was told they could be so I ordered two runs and a 'gertrude' coop, wheels and a chicken guard automatic door opener. They arrived well packaged but I discovered that you cant have the run and wheels to move onto fresh grass, the door opener prevents the run being fitted, the plastic anti rot feet are incompatible with the run and stupidly when you take them off the run interferes with the roof! when the run is in place it is very awkward struggle to open the door by hand.the design has not been thought through .. DO NOTBUY THE RUN IT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH EVERYTHING ELSE DESPITE WHAT THEY SAY ON THE WEBSITE! coop works well on its own, but don't try to move it , the structure twists and distorts and broke the roof. My experience of the customer service is they are a complete shambles.”

“We purchased an XL rabbit hutch six weeks ago, in that short space of time our rabbits have chewed it so badly that we can no longer use the hutch and have had to put them into their old one (fortunately we had kept it!). Eggshell sent us replacement doors but unfortunately that is no longer adequate as the hutch is so badly damaged in other areas. Eggshells response was that it is our fault for not keeping our rabbits entertained and they are chewing due to boredom. We have had our rabbits for three years and look after them well, they have gnaw sticks and plenty of treats, I find this insulting! Total waste of money, would not recommend.”

“I purchased the Nelly with extra boxes and run and the automatic door opener in May this year. Since purchase this been a total disaster. The wiring dropped out of the chicken run (lost five chickens) The replacement part was sent (it was the wrong size). The chicken door automated opener worked well for around six weeks and then stopped. This was sent back to the company (chicken guard) at my cost and returned supposedly fixed. It lasted one week. There is no help or accountability. Since then the chicken guard hut (whilst in a sheltered position) has started to break. It has been a complete waste of over £600, whilst the reviews look positive and delivery of the original hut was prompt I cannot believe that there are not more appalling comments on line.”

“Not received coop as yet so cannot review it. Confusion around delivery time , lack of communication and not told before purchase to register as otherwise unable to track parcel. Received a text to say delivery imminent after it had been delivered so missed it. Have yet to receive it.”

“Would never order again from them ! rude and unprofessional Ordered a chicken coup and it was meant to be 3 day delivery after the 5th day i called and all i got from them is call the delivery company "not our issue" its gone so called delivery company (they should have done this) we agreed a day and wife took a day of work, the delivery company never delivered. called up delivery company again and arranged another day again failed delivery . the 3rd time was meant to be pre 12:00 but they turned up in afternoon when we had to be out, the box was very damaged and was left in our porch Contact company and ask for a refund and while they honoured this i would have had to pay return postage which is approx £35 in the end im just gonna stick with the product and repair the damaged parts while many of the issues were the delivery company , the attitude of this company was extremely unprofessional.”

“The first Windsor extension that arrived was a calamity - of the four panels, three were damaged and as the packaging wasn't, I can only assumed they were damaged on assembly and there was no quality control. Very poor for an expensive kit. To be fair, eggshell put their hands up and a replacement arrived a few days later.”

“They didn't have cage after we had ordered and paid. They didn't deliver on the day they said they would. The cage they were sending out instead was cheaper but didn't offer any refund difference until I had emailed them about it and the cage we got is not suitable for a rabbit it is to small.”

“Incorrect nest-box parts were sent. The timber is very poor quality. I tried to telephone, but no reply. I spoke to the company this morning. They were irate that I had given them a bad rating and refused to deal with the problem. More bad news. One of the perches snapped in half...a big knot in the timber.”

“Poor quality flimsy construction,fixings loose,requires several modifications to make it structurally sound.Not worth the money.Unfortunately, had left outside, so couldn't return because boxes damaged by rain.”

“Phoned before ordering to confirm the item came with felt roof, was assured it did so placed the order. Turned up, no felt roof. Rang them again and to say they were less than helpful is an understatement”

“Firstly, I paid for express delivery and the first delivery attempt stated there was no one at home, despite the fact there was two people waiting in all day for the item. This meant it was delivered a day later so I should not have bothered paying for the express delivery. Secondly the hutch is a lot smaller than I anticipated, the images on the website are very misleading and the overall quality of the hutch is not worth the money paid. I am now going to buy a new hutch elsewhere.”

“Having had chickens for many years thought Id try this company. Quality of product very poor, wood split, looked larger in photo than actually was, screws so small they'll not hold anything for long, wood very thin and brittle in places. Egg box roof wouldn't open properly Really disappointed. And instructions dreadful. Get what you pay for! I abandoned it altogether and opted to splash out on a much higher quality of product that will last. only upside was delivery.”
