I sold a phone on eBay it was my first time and I got scammed, I sent the phone working with no problems and now the buyer says the phone has problems and I have no money from my sale! This is not acceptable, I paid twice for delivery, I was a good seller, I answered everything the buyer asked me and now he wants to return it when the phone never had any problems! I want my money now!

Ebays general customer service is not good. It is a bit better for buyers than sellers though. Recently as a buyer I had them pull money out using an account they were not supposed to with the new best offer program, requiring a payment source before the offer. They opted to use a bank account I never use, that is empty, rather than the payment source I authorized. This is because it is cheaper on fees for them. After numerous overdrafts because of this, I talked to 2 different agents that supposedly made a support ticket, and "would make sure it was fixed". Still pulling out of the account I never authorized racking up fees. Calling Ebay again, they refused to connect me with a supervisor to address the issue, and then hung up the phone. Not once, but three times. This level of narcissism is only something I've encountered post Covid. Everyone seems to think they are the most valuable asset in a company, and it empowers the garbage workers to pull this nonsense all the time. Seems worse at ebay, but its seems to be a problem everywhere from my observation. Now I am having to fight this out with the bank on the fees. They argue It was something I bought. True. But I never authorized the withdrawal from that empty account, therefore irrelevant I'm sure others have had similar issues. THIS is how class action lawsuits get started. They use the fact that they are the biggest auction site on the web to negate the negative repercussions of their actions. Most people will deal with a company even if they feel screwed if they think there is still some benefits. I think they should be boycotted out of business, and let a better company take their place.

Very poor and unfriendly customer return policy. Whoever came up with their currently workflow needs rethinking. Denying a customer to return a defective item within 30days of return because of a poor internal process is substandard and unjust at the least.

My wifes account was hacked and nearly £1000 of goods bought by hacker using her bank card details. Multiple calls and emails to ebay but nothing resolved yet-totally ineffective giving us sleepless nights.

Honestly, its very poor platform to sell products.❌🚫 I sold my items and Ebay stop my payments, There was nothing wrong from my side, i gave them proof, But Ebay didn’t give me my payments, Now they told me i will get my money after 6 months so very bad experience. New seller should be careful, Because anytime ebay can block you and stop your payment coming from customer and it left in ebay account❌⛔️🛑⚠️

Purchased a watch which I never received . The seller had a tracking number but the item never got to my address. Either Ebay nor the seller would even help me file a claim with the USPS. After contacting the Postal Service the told me the shipper needs to file the claim. Ebay closed the case and will not reopen it. There is no way now to get a human being on the phone with Ebay. I am now filing with my credit card. So disappointing.

I ordered something from topeakmart in error and tried to cancel it right away. They would not cancel it. So they sent this $230.00 item anyway. When I started the return process, I keep getting the run around. The return label won't print, and they want to charge me $37.00 to return it. Hey Ebay, this doesn't sound like a 100% money back guarantee. And the delivery was completed (2 boxes) 3 days after I ordered it. They're trying to stick me with this item I don't want.

Used to be a good platform but now full of scammers, liars and criminals. I would steer clear, they are not interested in anything except collecting their huge fees and giving no support.

They closed my account of 25 years, had a 525 positive standing. They wanted my passport, Ss number etc. I already had to open a second checking account for them. They have 277.00 of mine and will not give it to me. They said they will eventually send it to my state. Unreal. Boycott them. Besides they end up taking 25 % of your sale when all is said and done.

EBAY for sellers : WARNING. This selling site not for the faint of heart. I have been on the eBay platform for more than 16 years and have a 100% satisfaction rating as seller (and buyer). On a recent clearly false return request by a buyer, I was totally surprised by the difficult loops I had to jump through to get eBay on my side and to agree with my standpoint. After numerous and strenuous email messages, I finally was put in the right and all related expenses to this “sale” were reinstated on my account. This whole procedure definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. The criticism one can read on several social media stating that eBay always (at first) side with the buyer is an understatement. They hardly open a case in favor of their sellers. I did not know but know now! Furthermore, eBay controls completely how and when they will perform a payout to you, the seller. They keep your banking details as a hostage. You cannot close your seller’s account since you cannot remove your bankdetails from it - without eBay’s approval. This entire ordeal was very scary for me. I felt totally helpless and at the mercy of big eBay! Luckily, it turned out OK for me. I intend not to go through such trauma again. I am moving my items to other selling sites.

Worse market place to sell jewellery! Huge comisions 12.9% + shop subscription + vat, plus fixed price for every item sold. At the end of the day the buyers end up paying all this in one way or another. But the worst of all is that they are allowing fraudulent sellers on the platform and the legitimate bussines are not. If you want overpriced jewellery as buyer go to buy it on ebay or gold look alike ..gold on silver .gold look alike ...fake diamonds .. and so on. As seller after many years allowing ebay to keep several tens of pounds in comisions and literally hundreds of calls to sort out issues, ironically created by ebay can not recommend it enough if you want to lose money and time ! Recommendation .. rather than buying jewellery in ebay simply look after the shop name as they do have their own website in google (at least the serious sellers ) and contact them directly you still have the same right of returns and the security of buying from reputable jewellery but most probably you will get the item 20% cheaper. Horrible experience overall with ebay, agents that gives you instructions to do something then other " asking apologies for the recommendation of the colleagues " ...plenty of " we understand your frustration" and at the end of the day just time waste. Long story short ...ebay is good for private sellers to sell unwanted items before to take to skip, but not for reputable jewellers or any bussines.

i've sold a pair of boots on ebay, the seller made a dispute on the pretence that the size was wrong and asked for a return. 5 months later i don't have neither the boots nore the money even though ebay stoped 30 euros more from the account for the return expences. During this period i've tried all the steps required by ebay with the answer being the same all the time"the resolution was closed in favour of the buyer". so now im being fu..ed by the buyer with the help of ebay.

EBAY CHEATS RETIRED MARINE VETERAN OUT OF $142.82 On September 16, 2023, the retiree ordered three lights from one of ebay’s sellers, thestoreoftheyear12. On September 23, 2023, the old man received an email from ebay telling him his ordered was delivered. He quickly ran out and checked by the front door—nothing. He went to the mailbox—nothing. He checked with his neighbors—nothing. So he contacted the seller and explained that, while the email says the order was delivered, it was not. The seller told him to do those things he had already done and let them know. On September 25, 2023 the veteran called the United States Postal Service at (800) 275-8777 and asked them if the item was delivered to his address. The representative to him it was delivered to his city, state, and zip code, but to a street address that was not his own. He communicated this to the seller and they said the tracking says it was delivered, “reach out to ebay.” He also showed the seller that the United States Postal Service’s tracking only shows that the package was delivered to a city, state, and zip code. Not to a specific address. Therefore, the package in this case could have been delivered to any one of 35,670 people who live in retiree’s city, state, and zip code. He presented evidence showing that the pack was not delivered to him ebay. Ebay’s reply was that the seller says it was delivered. Case closed. Where is ebay’s due diligence? They claim to have a money back guarantee policy, but in this instance, they failed to validate the buyer’s evidence and provide a refund. It is sad to know that a company with a net worth of $26.68 billion must resort to stealing from people whose only mistake was trusting the legitimacy of ebay’s obviously false promises. Caveat emptore!
