Hi Alan. I'm sorry to hear you have an issue with the delivery. We were not made aware of this and I can see that you have been dealing directly with the pallet company in relation to this.

Stones were extremely sandy for what was called “washed”

Many thanks for leaving a review. I'm sorry to hear you found the stones to be sandy. We do state on the website under each product in the 'Size, colour and dust' section, that all quarried items are natural products and are likely to contain some dust. This can simply be hosed off or allow the rain to wash clean once laid. I hope this information will be of use when considering future aggregate purchases.

Lost my order had to prove that I had made an order it was late in poor condition never got an Apology of any sort will definitely not be ordering from this website again or company will not recommend it to friends and family

This supplier receives the lowest available score from me due their complete disregard for the security of customer data. Being a first time customer I was required to create a new account and after providing my details I received an email confirming the creation of my account. This email helpfully quoted my nominated username and my password! Never have I seen such an unbelievable display of ineptitude from an online retailer. I now have to change my password everywhere thanks to decorativegardens.co.uk as god only knows who else has seen it.

Hello. Thanks for the review. We just wanted to let you know that we take the security of our customers data very seriously. I can assure you that system does not store any passwords in plain text. The email template is the only place where anyone will see a plain text password, and that's only because the data is taken directly from the submitted form data. The e-commerce system uses a secret encryption key to "hash" any sensitive data, so nobody can access it, including the very limited people with access to the database. It is not possible to reverse this hashing (it's one way) to determine what the passwords are from the hashed text stored in the database. This is by design and is specifically done to ensure that if the database is ever compromised user login details are not capable of being extracted from the compromised system. We also have a fully compliant GDPR policy and also offer all customers an option to have their data deleted and Customer Data Anonymisation. Please rest assure that we also have a number of extra security features in place as well to offer the best most secure ordering process online as we can.

I selected a delivery date and gave about 4 days notice. I took the day off work and stayed in all day awaiting the delivery. I received a call from the delivery company at about 4.50pm advising that the delivery could not be made that day. After I raised a complaint I was contacted by James from Decorative Gardens and he was extremely apologetic and refunded me £10 as a token gesture. However, having spent close to £500 on pebbles I felt this was not fair compensation for my wasted day off and inconvenience. It was completely unacceptable to have been contacted at 4.50pm and advised the delivery wouldn't be made that day. To be fair I have no complaints about the pebbles, which were exactly as described although I needed almost 2 tons more than I had calculated with the online calculator - beware when ordering larger pebbles you will need more than you think!

Hello, thank you for the feedback. We are sorry that our delivery company failed to deliver on the day that you were expecting. We monitor all other orders constantly through out the day and as soon as we were notified that the delivery company had a problem we got straight in touch. 99% of all our 48 hour deliveries are delivered on time within the 8AM to 6PM delivery time slot. If any order were to fail we insist that the delivery company redeliver next day at a time that is suitable for our customers.

I wish to amend my review as follows: Bought 3000 kilos of slate chippings and 10 rolls of weed blocker membrane. The membrane came with a 10 year guarantee. I laid it while taking the precautions suggested, but less than 10 days after laying, blades of grass and weed started coming through the membrane perforations. I sent an e-mail to Decorative Gardens with no response. The second e-mail provoked a promise to ring me the next day but I ended up ringing anyway. The person I spoke to suggested I used round-up, but did not offer anything else to cover this further expense due to the failing supplied material. However, the person I spoke to said he was going to ring around and ring me back that same morning. He never did. I think the after purchase service of this company is not good, the membrane I bought is not up to the job and seems that I am not protected under the seller's responsibilities towards the customer, and the manufacturer's 10 year guarantee. I will probably have to end up seeking local expert and legal advice.

Hello, we are very some that you were not happy with the weed blocker. We tried to resolve this issue with you. I think it is worth pointing out to our customers that most of the weeds to which you refer to in your comments were thistles which unfortunately will push through most types of geotextile membrane. We have used this weed blocker in our own gardens and had no trouble with it. Once again we are sorry about the problems you have experienced but these are out of our control.
